Kids favourite place! But my worse enemy...
it's not a condusive place to study due to the large crowd especially noisy kids during off-school hours.

The place is quite open so it is quite easy to get distracted by the shoppers walking around.

Definitely not a place for students to study. I have stayed in Sengkang for 5 years but I have only been to this Mcdonald's less than 10 times. It's quite inaccessible because it's located on the basement and it's a hassle to go over.

    Yes, it's a definite must-try.

But each time you go there, your wallet goes bonkers!

I visited Imperial Treasure once last year when it was the hairy crab season.

I missed the starters as I was late and the first dish I had was Pig's Stomach Soup. It wasn't really the best of start to have such a heavy soup but it turned out that the soup was very mild but soothing for the thoart. The taste, the portion, the ingredients were in the right proportion... in short, PERFECT!

Next came the scallop in egg white. One look at it you will know it's good food. I have not tried the steam egg molemole mentioned, but the egg white looks exactly the same for this dish. It's super soft and super sweet! When you eat with the scallop, the soft sweet egg white mix together with the chewy scallop... HEAVENLY!

The third dish was fried bak kut. Which has similar taste to prawn paste chicken, just that it's pork that is being fried. What's special is the meat is still tender even though it's deep fried.

Finally is the hairy crab , I have heard many people saying about it. But it's nothing special, not because the way imperial treasure cook... generally i still prefer normal crabs. There isn't much meat inside a hairy crab and the paste (yellow) where everyone goes for is just so-so. Probably I can't appreciate hairy crab and I don't think it's worth $60 - 70 per piece. In fact, I prefer the ginger tea that comes after it to remove the coolness of the hairy crab. haha!

One thing to mention is the service provided by the waitress. It was dedicated and when we first did not order any desserts, she remembered and asked us several times to make sure she did not miss out on helping us to order. Excellent service!

At the end, when the bill came.... it's $530 for 6 people....

OMG, I can't believe someone added this!

Well, a short review for this secluded "zi cha" store located at the outermost part of Yishun.

It has been around for at least 15 years. It used to be well know for their fresh crabs and unique dishes and attracted customers from various parts of Singapore. Some actors and actresses were seen dining there before. But nowadays, the weekends are packed with regular customers (I frequent there every weekend, so I know).

One dish I will recommend is their $20 steamboat that comes with fish slice, pork, sotong, squid, mussels, vege, 2 eggs, tofu, 2 prawns and "bao bei". The list might be very little, but all the ingredients are fresh. The soup is unique as it has herbs but the taste of the herbs is not strong. The soup is extremely rich in flavour and I'm very sure it is not due to mono sodium glutamate (because I won't feel thirsty) after the meal. For a price of $20, it's sufficient to feed 2 person to fullness.

Another dish which is unique is the pumpkin crab. I have tried it twice when it's cold, so my judgement might not be correct. Wait till I taste the crab when it comes right out of the kitchen, then I will review it.

Finally, it is their XO crab bee hoon. I suppose they are the first to serve crab bee hoon with XO sauce ($5 additional for XO sauce) and the sauce really goes well into the soup.

If you don't mind dining by the roadside, this is one place you should try if you happen to be around the area.

I will say it use to be better when the people working are Singaporeans. The bubble tea made are tastier.

Ever since the price increase which happend last year. The standard dropped tremendously.

My favourite drink is honey green tea and it use to taste extremely refreshing. However, I suspect that not only they increase the price, they reduce the quality of the drinks also.

if you guys can remember, the main difference between Cup Walker and Sweet Talk is the sweetness of the pearls. After the price increase, the pearls still remain "QQ" but gone were the sweetness. The pearls are sweet because they are soaked in syrup for Cup walker. I guess that after the price increase, the management also save on the quality of the pearls.

Not only that, another decline in standard is the sweetness of the honey green tea. It used have a strong honey sweetness and I always can see some undissolved honey laying on the bottom of the cup. But nowadays, maybe due to cost cutting, the tea taste like shit (it's like this for honey, if there is insufficient honey, the drink becomes very awkward).

I try to avoid the branch at Compass Point unless I have a very big craving for it. Even if so, I will ask the auntie to make it sweeter. But whenever I do that, they always give me a kind of face making me look as if I'm very greedy.

So my advice is avoid this branch as much as possible, if not, request the drink to be made slightly sweeter.

This stall opens till 10pm at night. It's good for those who work late in the city area.

What I like about this fish soup is
      1. The EGG FLOSS, which looks damn oily and fattening BUT it does not stain the soup with oil. The soup still taste simple and soothing.

      2. The SOUP BASE, one look at it you will know it's brewed with fish bones. The soup has a very nice fragrant of fish and very rich in protein!

      3. The TONNES OF VEGE, as a health concious person, the healthy fish soup has lotsa crunchy vege that really compliments the soup.

Moreover, this stall offers sambal fish, prawns and sotong. These dishes are slightly unhealthy but goes well with the fish soup when you are really hungry.

Personally I only like the sotong because it's a hassle to eat the prawns when they are soaked in sambal sauce and you have to peel the skin while the fried fish becomes soggy when soakd in the sambal sauce.

Cost? $20 with change for 2 person ordering 2 fish soups and 1 sambal dish.
