Interesting restaurant with aircon and alfresco dining below a hdb block.

Served up a full selection of Chinese zi char dishes including crabs.

Interesting place right below a HDB block, matter of fact we could see the lift landing for those staying on the second level. The restaurant served up a good selection of items on the menu and service was pretty prompt though we had to wait for about 30 mins for our food as the place is pretty packed and we didn't make prior reservations.

We had a total of 10 dishes for a family of 11 and serving size was okay however the rice serving was smaller than usual and we had to order extra. Otherwise food is pretty well executed with steamed fish, fresh and well cooked, venison in braised sauce a tad saltish, fried chilli mussels clean and generous in serving size, as well as yummy pork ribs which is soft and tender, ample in taste.

I would also like to mention the "jia xiang" special in house tofu which is a large rectangular fried tofu with braised meat sauce. Especially yummy and good with children and adults.

1 meal of 10 dishes for 11pax with some bottles of beers, drinks and extra rice cost us about $305, and judging by the quality of food, though no GST and Service charge is a little high for a location such as this. The restaurant is not near any main roads and is below a hdb block pretty deep in the Heartland.. Kinda like back lane of back lanes.. however the residences staying around the area would be very pleased for a joint such as this. Interior deco is suitable to hold small birthday parties with a private area to be cordoned off and karaoke available. Pretty nifty for a HDB void deck Restaurant. Nice and cosy, complete with restroom facilities...

Nice cosy place to have a sweet dessert, though they also do serve simple sandwiches and salads but whats famous here besides the all so yummy choco-rolls (Snail Crossants) are the soft serve parfaits.

Its Jap inspired desserts as such you will met toppings such as azuki beans, matcha and mochi which locals had very much cultivated a liking for. We tried a couple of the parfaits and find them mostly yummy, a little too sweet for some but generally was above average.

Especially love the coffee jelly and mochi toppings as they tasted really chewy and appetizing.

Seats were plenty yet hard to get as the place is mostly crowded. Service is pretty good and fast while the facilities at the cafe were well designed for convenience and self-service.

I have this craving for vegetarian food sometimes, especially after days of meaty diet and MiaoYi is one of the favourite place I like to dine in. Mostly crowded, this medium sized restaurant situated at the upper floors of Bukit Timah Plaza is one of the famous haunts for yummy vegetarian food with its many different varieties of dishes and and localised cooking style.

Service is exceptionally friendly and warm, while the menu was like any that of a typical chinese restaurant with meat ingredients replaced with vegetables, mushrooms and bean products. My friend that I've brought with was impressed with the selection and we proceeded to order a few of these yummy food.

        1) Yam Ring - Was really well executed, loads of ingredients and yummy

        2) Mixed Veg - Delicious mixed veg made a little watery, great to eat with rice

        3) Ginger Rice - Reminded me of chicken rice was fragrant and paired with the food super well.. I kinda felt detoxed when I am having the rice.

        4) Fried noodles - is one of my favourite and tasted very balance, a little on the less salty side yet felt healthy.

        5) Roasted Pig - Yes they do have this roast pig which is some mushroom and bean products combined to mimic the meaty dish, while we were awed by how familiar it looked, the taste was quite near to the actual thing.

Great set meals to offer though they have since changed their menu which to my dismay has discontinued some of my favourite stuffs yet the menu seemed to look as vibrant as before.

Loved the whole outdoor beach shack look and the casual cosy interior. Food is pretty yummy, i must say the value sets are of great value and portion is not too generous but just right. Love their fish and chips and next round I would like to try their spiced rice as well.

We went there with good expectations but the food was just so so, not to mention the almost non-existent services whom we found chit-chatting behind the counter. Perhaps it has already been awhile since i've decided to bring up this issue and hope the management have since looked into the situation.

The menu has an average choice of appetizers and mains and well the pricing was higher then average. We ended up with 1 for 1 draft beers, some nachos and seafood platter.

While we asked for more sauce and condiments for the huge plain looking bowl of nachos, we were told that we had to pay for extra sauces and condiments, we were already disappointed as the sauce that was originally given to us was already very little and the nacho was dull...

The grilled seafood platter came well executed, not in generous portions but we managed to fill ourselves up okay and the seafood i must say pretty fish and prawn crunchy.

Entire experience was just average and for sure the Nachos was below expectations.
