It is not easy to find a reliable and honest plumber, therefore, I think it is worth while to post this review.

My interior designer recommended a plumber to check on my water leakage problem. This plumber ( his boss is David ) came empty handedly and I have to provide him with a ladder.
Unforetunately, my ladder was too short and he didn't access the false ceiling to examine the problem area, he simply guess the possible fault. The worse part is that his mobile phone kept ringing and he was busy attending to every single call. I find it very irritating to discuss my problem with him because of the frequent interruption. He seems to be in a rush and told me that he have to come back another day with a longger ladder. But I waited for many days and he did not even call back. I wonder why can't he tell me directly if he is not interested in this small job but rather lost his company's reputation for not keeping his promise.

I have no choice but to ramdomly pick another Plumber from Internet. This guy came without ladder too but he manage to access to my false ceiling with the short ladder. After checking for a
while, he confirmed that the culprit was the water heater tank. He simply told me that both my water heater tanks need replacement and the cost is $1850 for 2 units. I had no idea whether I should replace it because I can't see the condition of the heater at all.

I hesitated because I felt that the price was rather high, so I search for another contractor. This time, I search under 'water heater' and made a few phone calls. Most of them can't provide me with the information and pricing immediately until I came across this company, Dairen. The receptionist answered my call and quoted me
a price of $460 per 10Gallon tank incusive of installation and GST. In the even if the fault lies with the valve control, it can be repaired at $95.
Without hesitation, I asked them to go ahead but requested them to double confirm if the tank was really faulty.

The Technician came equipped in a van with the long ladder and the spare heater tank ( brand new ). After checking, they told me only one tank has a faulty valve. It can be repaired but may not last long because the tank has a little rust. Finally, I replace the tank instead of repairing it and the other tank remain unchanged.

I found that the contractors ( not all, but mostly ) in Singapore are generally un-reliable. I am quite supprised that this company provide such a timely and honest service at such a reasonable price. They can always tell me both tanks are damaged or at a higher price like the previous ones but they didn't. They are well equipped and they can provide neccessary advice and charges on the spot. I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who need to replace water heater or water related services.

I do not know the name of this store, but I saw the address of a basement store when I was walking to the car park after makan. I thought it is worth recommending and I can still remember the store unit#, therefore I give it a name.

I came to this hawker centre after buying some plastic mesh from Kelantan Road. I do not know what to eat but wanted something with low 'C'. Walking around the food centre and looking for store that has long queue. Suprisingly, there are quite a few store with long queue. One of them is turtle soup and the other is this Mei Xin Fish.

Since Turtle soup is of High 'C', I can easily make up my mind and join in the 'Fish' queue. It is not my usual style to queue for food even if it is nice. I queue up because I find this fish soup a little unique, at least I have not seen or tried this.

The menu is very simple. White set meal and white & black set meal. It took me sometime to digest what is white and black&white. Finally, it is referring to fish slice ( white ) or fried fish ( black ).
White is more expensive than black & white.

To be on the safe side, I ordered white and black - small at $4.00. The queue is quite long, about 10 person. But it moves very fast. They have 4 persons. One lady standing next to the queue to collect order and money. One lady inside arranging the food. One man inside preparing the food and another lady doing nothing at that time.

All orders are standard. Therefore the preparation is very easy. All he has to do is to pour the soup inside the bowl. In less than 10 mins, I have my food collected.

I look at the bowl, there is fried fish, slice steam fish and vegetable. What a good balance. The fried fish is nice and is boneless. The steam fish is nice and is fresh. The veg is normal because it is veg. The soup is tasty and the chilly is hot.

Now I understand why additional chilli cost $0.30 and add soup cost $0.50.

I am very satisfied with this simple hawker food. Must recommend. Of course, it would be even better if they can add fried egg. ( oops, it will increase the C then ).

This restaurant looks very 'china' from the outside but quite westernise inside it. Their famous dish is the cold crab but it must be ordered in advanced. I can't magine how a cold crab taste, so I did not give it a try.

We tried the Popiah, smoked chicken, wasabi prawn, crispy tofu, fried brinjai and the Yee Mee. It is quite unusual to have popiah in a restaurant. I personally like to have it at home on some occasion and you can eat as many as you like but not in the restaurant because it can be very filling. The Popiah is quite tasty but a little sautish. The ingredient used is not much different from others but the 'skin' and the sauces are home made and that makes the different.

I use to take wasabi prawn from Pine Valley restaurant. I expect the similar taste here too. Unfortunately, it tastes differently. Firstly, the wasabi used is not spicy at all ( no smoke come out from the nose ). The prawn is fried with flour and therefore a little hard outside. I wil prefer it to be fried without any flour so that it can be a crsipy outside but soft internally.

The smoked chicken is good. I don't know what do they use to marinate it but I believe should be one of their home made sources. Of course being boneless is the main contribution to this dish. It tastes a little different from others and I took quite a lot of it.

The crispy Tofu is interesting. A thin layer of crispy skin to hold the tofu and it melt at the right time as soon as you put it in your mouth.

The Fried brinjai is also their specialty according to the staff. However, I don't really like it because it taste like normal brinjai but with sweet saurce used for 'Chin Chong Fan'. I still prefer it to be fried with 'heibee'.

The restaurant looks clean, simple and tidy although the painting hanging on the wall are a little out of place. The waitresses are freindly and attentive. Reasonable crowd on a weekday afternoon and yet not noisy. It is quite a suitable place for casual lunch if you are inside the business district area.

I was contemplating to buy either Camry or Altis, so I went to this show room to take a look at the car. A sales person attended to me and explain the function and features of both cars to me. The attitude was good and not pushy at all. I test drive the Altis. For around $50K, I guess it is quite a good buy. But I couldn't make up my mind and I told him I need to think about it and decide between Camry and Altis.

Few days later, I went back to the same show room and look for the same sales person. This time, I test drive Camry. At the end of it, the sales person sat down and went through the pricing and comparision between the two cars. He even suggested that I buy a smaller car. I was a little biased towards Camry but the price of Altis is attractive. So I went home without buying. Since I was not ready to buy, I didn't take note of the detail information.

Few days later, the COE price drop to $2.00. I guessed it is time to make a decision. I went down to look for this guy again. He knew I am serious this time and got me all the detail pricing for both cars. Obviously, the price has been reduced. I promised to make a decision over weekend. On the same night, I receive a call from this guy. He said the company receive over-whelming sales and I need to make a decision by next day before 12pm to enjoy the offered price. I asked why is it so. The offer was not that fantastic but rather a reduction of COE plus $500 discount. Furthermore, an offer should not be affected by the no. of cars sold. Infact, the more car sold the better for the company. He said, 'Well, this is business.'

I was not sure whether this is the policy passed down by the company or is it a tactic to close a deal. No doubt, the service from the salesman was good but the offer does not sound sincere to me. How can an offer last only 1 day for an amount of $50k and more. Besides, the next day was a week day and I had other schedule planned. I was almost decided to go with Camry but because of this invisible pressure and inconvenience, I did not go back to them again. 2 weeks later, I got a car from another brand.

Heading down to Funan hoping to get some information for SLR. Was attracted by Song brother for its wide frontage and very nice design product display corner. They display Nikon, Canon and Sony DSL clearly right infront of the shop. The sales counter is behind the display glass shelf and therefore I can browse the items freely. After a while, a person called Andy Tan approach me and ask me whether I need help in a very polite manner. I asked him to recommend something
good for a beginer. He was so quick in his recommendation. Infact, I have already spoken to his collegue before in Sim Lim Square but I didn’t tell him that. Therefore when he recommended me Canon 40D and Sigma OS len f3.5-5.6 18-700mm (S$890), I was quite supprise because it was different from his collegue’s recommendation. I wanted f2.8 lens and therefore his colleague recommended sigma f2.8 24-75mm (S$750) and sigma f2.8 70-200mm (S$1600). Although the f2.8 is a better len but Andy assure me it is good enough for a beginer to start of with f3.5 18-200mm for convenience and economy reason. He assure me that the len comes with OS is a better len than a normal len.

This guy has a very good salesmanship. He is so sincere in explaining the products. He fix the recommended camera and len and let me try out. At the same time explaining in more detail of the product features. All my questions are being answered to my satisfaction.

As usual, the salesman's good service has help me speed up my decision. Finally, I walk away with a Canon 40D, sigma OS 18-200mm and a f1.8 50mm fixed len. I have tried it and am pretty happy with it ( for now ).

Five star for the salesman's good service.
