It's a nice place for friends to groove to live Latin music. The lady singers are all amazing and must admit very curvaceous. They surely know how to entertain the crowd.
There are a lot of people from probably around the world. The atmosphere is nice and the music (although I am not familiar with) just makes you get up from your seat and dance.
It was a Saturday night and was insanely crowded and have to wait for some people to get out and clear some space in front of the stage before our group can have our turn to dance and have fun.
But sadly, the fun was killed by two men; one was obviously drunk, the other one was asking the girlfriends if any of us could join, go out or just be with the drunk man. We were not paying any attention to him. But he disturbed us again and said that his man wanted a girl to join him tonight. We got mad and they went out of the place in a flash.
Although I like the place and the band, it was my last Latin night. I am not sure when is the next time.
At the Central, I ordered Tom Yam Soup, Black Pepper Chicken and Kangkong.
The tom yam soup is very spicy but is better than the more expensive one in Thai Express. I find it too spicy but I just can't stop eating it. The black pepper chicken was cooked well with a generous amount of black pepper so it's also spicy. The kangkong was also nice although I spent most of my time chewing this side dish. For me, kangkong should be cooked well and chewed well otherwise, I will have some tummy problem.
About service: I've been eating at Lotus Thai Viet located in different malls. There was an instance that the waitress immediately put papaya salad beside my order without asking if I like papaya or mango salad. I asked her if she could change it to mango salad but she turned a little mad and said she can't change it. So everytime I eat at Lotus Thai Viet after that, I make it a point to let them know that I prefer mango salad without waiting for them to ask me...because most of the time, they don't really ask. I also noticed that some of their staff aren't friendly. It seems that they just want to finish the job and that's it. They must be tired from serving the whole day. Well, I don't know.
Anyway, I am satisfied with their food even though I end up going home with a slight runny nose. And I keep on coming back to Lotus Thai Viet because they offer nice and inexpensive Thai food - pineapple rice, mango salad, tom yam soup!!!
My family likes this place. We usually go to Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden for a picnic then head to the Jurong East Swimming Complex. It's a cheap way to bond with the whole family as well as friends.
The slides are great. I always find myself scared each time I try the slides but then, I always go back.
I also like the lazy river although sometimes the water is a little dirty. It just gets too crowded during weekends. The toilets aren't really nice but generally clean.
I also train at the gym upstairs which has a nice view of the pools while running the thread mill.
I've been to this place several times already. It's a usual bar, there's nothing exceptional to the over-all style/decor of the whole place. There are tons of teens hanging out with their friends.
There are free drinks at Ladies' Night. If I avail a free drink, I choose cola and vodka, or sprite and vodka.
The Arena also invite some international DJs and hold concerts of international bands.
Before you get in, you usually write your name and contact number (some sort of membership to the bar). I did this and been receiving updates or the latest happening in the Arena. If you don't want to receive marketing sms, don't give your number.
I don't like the fact that my two friends, who think they are slightly big, kept on complaining the whole night because the circling waiters/waitresses kept on offering them the menu...if they want to try this and that food. They were pissed off. They think the waiters show them the menu because they seem to enjoy eating.
Eversince visiting Bangkok years back, I fell in love with Thai food. I like the tom yam soup, pad prik (beef with chili), and mango salad.
There are actually alot of restaurants at the MarketPlace but we chose to dine at Thai Express simply because love Thai Food.
After trying Thai Express' tom yam soup, I think I'd rather dine at the Lotus Thai Viet found in Kopitiams. It's not the kind of tom yam that I tried everywhere. It's like someone just poured hot water in it and add a little of chili and a little of other ingredient.
My husband wasn't also delighted with his order, a yellow curry soup with chicken of some sort. I am not a fan of yellow curry so I didn't try it.
Hmmm wrong choice of food, perhaps.
Although I like the Thai vases, pots, plates, etc. that are displayed for sale and the free water, those didn't cover my frustrations. Well yeah, because we came to eat not to stare on the pots and all the stuff displayed.
