This outlet is located at the old wing of Jurong Point, near NTUC FairPrice.

It claims to have some of the lowest prices in Singapore. It sells a really wide range of merchandise, but mainly restricted to household stuff, confectionary and some stationery.

It sells quite a variety of chocolate, biscuits and sweets. They have the famous brand like Cadbury to some almost unknown brands.

Household stuffs include containers, matches, bulbs and so on. It also stocks some brand of shower gel and shampoo, like Lux and Head & Shoulders.

Stationery includes foolscape pads, pencils, colour pencils, sharpeners - mostly Mickey Mouse types.

However I don't find the things here particularly cheap, as I find those at ABC Bargain Store even cheaper. But I guess it is because of the higher rentals of Valu$ stores which are often opened at newer shopping malls.

Located at the new wing of Jurong Point, it is just opposite Aussino.

The shop space is fairly small for a furniture store.
On display were a few sofa sets, with little other furniture. They also sell some bedsheet sets. I find the sofa to be fairly hard, the price range is similar to those at Courts. About $600 to over $1000.

I wonder why people will like to shop here for furniture given the limited variety. Perhaps its business lie mainly in its mattresses, I guess. It seem fairly popular in Singapore as it often has advertisements and a few branches across the island. It is endorsed by Liza Wang, a HongKong celebrity.

This Aussino is located at the new wing of Jurong Point. It is opposite Seahorse. This branch is not very large, but still has all its bedllinen collections, pillows and towels.

The staff is quite polite and helpful. I knocked over a plastic stand as I was choosing something and she hurried came to assure me it was alright. She also placed the things I chose at the counter as I browsed for other items.

Aussino offers substantial discounts during its sale period. But stocks often run out fast, and the discounts are only for its past seasons designs. It has bedlinen to suit all budgets with its Inspire collection at over $20 to more expensive collections at $60-$80.

Quality and designs are fairly good.

Chomel occupies a space here amid many other brands.

Chomel is well known for its hair accessory and jewellery. Most of its hair accessory and jewellery make use of coloured gemstones. Thery are often displayed according to their colours: red, pink, yellow, blue, black. They also have a pearl collection but for this collection they do not have hair accessory.

Prices for its hair accessory is $13 to about $30. As for its jewellery $18 to over $100 for some pieces.

It offers after-sale service as well. Stones that have fallen off could be replaced at little or no cost. Its packagings are pretty as well. Hair accessory come in small pouches, while its jewellery come in boxes with Chomel plastic bags.

However some of its collection are only available at certain branches. For example, they have a metallic collection which is only available at Metro (Paragon).

I have opened bank accounts with different banks and other UOB branches. But the bank officer here really asked some weird questions.

As the main branch of course it looked large and impressive. When I entered, I looked about for directions for account opening, and a officer promptly came to assist me. She was polite and I was asked to take a seat in the seating area which also has a TV.

I didn't have to wait long for my turn.

The officer was polite but she was a little too nosey. Some irrelevant questions she asked was why I wanted to open a saving account. I replied for saving. After doing some paperwork and registration, she looked at the bank draft that I used for account opening. She noted that it was a foreign bank and asked if I had an account with that bank. I said no and added that it was given to me by somebody else. And she asked me if that person was a citizen of that country. I don't think such questions were really necessary as when I opened accounts elsewhere the officers rarely asked such questions.

On a more positive note, she was thoughtful enough to write down the direction for ibanking activation.
