Went with my lady boss, boss, 2 colleagues, and 2 8-year-olds to White Dog Cafe on a Saturday evening at around 8 plus. There was no queue though the place was quite filled with the dinner crowd. We were told to wait for about 5 minutes for a table of 7.

The manager or supervisor on duty was quite friendly, got his staff to hand out the menus so we could think about what we want to order first.

We were ushered to our tables in less than 3 minutes. We were given a bottle of water to serve ourselves. Would have been better if they did so for us, since we are paying for service after all!

We paid a total of $157 inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% GST for the following dishes:

    1 Lobster Bisque $8.50 2 Mushroom Soup $13 1 Clam Chowder $6.50 1 Calamari $6.90 1 Mangolicious (ice blended drink/dessert type) $7.50 1 Pacific Dory (fish n chips) $15.90 1 Duck Confetit $19.90 1 Chicken Leg $Carbonara 1 Forest Pizza $12.90 1 Pesto Scallop 15.90

The calamari came really fast. Made me wonder if it was simply heated up in the microwave. But the calamari is a must try! Yums! Even the boss who is a food critic raved about the calamari sauce. It's maiyonnaise with this tinge of garlicky taste. And some shreds of salad as side.

The mushroom soup for the children arrived. Kids preferred the creamy campbell type whilst us adults love this form.. in which the soup is made with real grinded mushroom bits! Awesome!

The lobster bisque is well flavoured, no fishy smell but a little salty. Especially since we had the clam chowder after the lobster bisque. Clam chowder tasted just right, not too thick.

The carbonara's aint overly creamy, one of the better carbonaras I've tasted. (I'm a pasta fan!) And the bacon strips make it enjoyable to chomp on.

Fish and chips was above average, the fish was well battered, and soft enough to the bite (not too cooked).

The pesto scallop was pasta made with squid ink. It's quite an acquired taste. I won't say I like or hate it. It's okay.

The pizza (in 6 slices) contains an assortment of mushrooms (can't recall the types) and the children like their pizzas.

The Chicken Leg was served mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce. Succulent.

The duck confetit came with mesclun salad and was a little dry. But still crisp enough for us.

I have to say that the manager really take care of the nity grity details of the customers. Like the chair my lady boss was sitting on was the plasticky type, not that it was uncomfy but he went the extra mile and offered to replace the seat for my lady boss with the cushiony type.

Overall food quality: 8/10 Overall service quality: 9/10

The food portions were just nice, too much and one will be overstuffed! Too little, and the kiasu singaporeans in us will complain. We managed to finish EVERYTHING among the 7 of us! And left very satiated.

Unfortunately, we were all too busy enjoying the food to take any pictures.

My Dear & I trying out this White Dog Cafe on last Friday. Its packed with pple for dinner and also desserts and drinks.

Our appetizers: Triple Mushrooms Soup A must-order for Mushrooms lovers like us! It’s thick and creamy!

Fried Spicy Chix Wings Must eat it while its hot! It’s juicy and crispy! The special thai chilli goes well with amost anything!

Traditional Fish & Chips My Dear’s main dish. I like the fries. Crispy crust with firm filling inside. I dun take fried battered fish coz I afraid its not well done inside. Then I will have problem. :p

Whole Chicken Leg Yes, this is my main dish. I am a chickentarian. I never get sick of the mushroom sauce. They have this black fungus (or some kind of mushrooms) added. It delicious!

We are all too full to have desserts. Hmmm.. maybe next time. :)
