My first visit to Bbq chicken was quite ok. The food was good. The chicken were fried and presented in a way that the meat is tender and the skin is crispy. It's not very oily. It's quite similar to popeye chicken. Something unique because in singapore, it's either KFC or western food then we could get to eat crispy fried chicken.

I admit certain main course, it doesn't tally with the picture and the price is quite expensive as to the portion they serve.

The place was comfortable. The ambience is nice and it's spacious. Maybe because the food is halal, most of the waitress are malays and at first I thought I came into a malay western restaurant. Until I sat down and saw the table flyer that it's korean food. Hmmm.

The main reason for patronizing this restaurant was because passion cardmembers get to enjoy discount. However, my husband made a mistake and forgot to show the passion card when he was making payment so I quicly went back to the manager and told him that we left out the passion card.

I was very disappointed at his response. He looked at me and said. "Oh, no no. It's very troublesome for us. We can't make amendments to the bill!"

If he could have said it in a better manner, I would not be so pissed.

When We were waiting for the food to come, I took some pictures and this rude manager keep staring at me as if I'm going to do something to the shop. So unfriendly.

Not Worth Trying , last sun i was at this BBQ chicken resturant @ downtown east. Walk into the resturant at around 2pm togethier with my family , waited for around 5mins no 1 serve us so we just took a table near by .

As 1 of my family member is pregnant , she try to avoid cold n gassy drinks so i ask the waitress for hot water. Her replied was No we dont serve that(maybe is FOC thats y) .I was like huh?If i remenber correctly they sell hot coffee?Correct me if i m wrong. I order a Korean Charbroiled, in the menu it stated chief recommend .It comes with 2 pcs of BBQ breast meat and some fries which cost $13.90 .I look at the menu , the picture show 3 pcs instead of 2 pcs . the length of the meat is like only 9cm per pc meaning to say if i cut into half i can easily swollow it in 2 times and thats the end of yr meat lol .

Next order was the Kid fish n chip meal which cost $7 .the portion for this is much more better den the Charbroiled ,i dont deny this is a worth to try for tis set but its only for kids lol

Next order was Teri-Q Wings @ $8 and again by looking at the menu it looks like a great deal but end up i pay $8 for 3 little pcs of wing and 2 little pcs of drumlets.... you guys can look at the picture @ http://www.bbq-chicken.com.sg/menu_snacks.php

      Its not worth it for the whole lunch : Things i order : 1 x Korean Charbroiled 1 x Teri-Q Wings 1 x kids fish n chip meal @ $7 2 x bottled water 2 x coke total damage $40

i rather use this $40 to eat at swensen with free ice water n hot water.

In one word, my meal @ BBQ Chicken was... abysmal.

Thought it was worth a go, what with the nice ambience & long queue waiting to be seated.

I mean, one has to try pretty hard to get fried chicken done wrong, right?

        Right?

Cream of Mushroom ($4.00): Fresh creamy mushroom soup seasoned with freshly diced mushroom.

Such pretty words, for a soup that turned out dilute, weird, & had lumps of condensate in it. For 4 bucks, I’d at least expect to get something decent... what I got was an insult.

Original Chicken ($11.90): Marinated right through the meat with BBQ’s unique recipe and secret formula of 30 natural seasonings and cooked to golden perfection. Complete with golden fries and coleslaw.

The menu was kinda misleading; it showed you a virtual plethora of beautifully fried chicken drumsticks, & you end up with a pathetic excuse of a drum & a thigh. That’s perfectly normal. But what I don’t understand is why the chicken came out slightly lukewarm, when one would expect it to be finger-sizzling from the deep-fryer. The fries were terrible, some capable of sending my sodium levels sky-high, whilst others seemed nary to have a touch of salt at all. Plus, I’ve tasted better coleslaw at hawker centres.

Popeye’s would lay the smack down on this bugger any day of the week, & even Colonel Sanders’ ‘Secret Recipe of 11 Herbs & Spices’ seem to work heckuva lot better than their 30.

Korean Charbroiled ($13.90): Using only the most tender leg meat, it is marinated in a natural sauce made of 30 secret ingredients then roasted first with hardwood charcoal, followed by roasting on earthenware. Definitely a must try at BBQ Chicken. Complete with golden fries and coleslaw.

Remarkably, those (yet another) ‘30 secret ingredients’ resulted in a dish that tasted exactly like satay! I’m not certain if those chaps barbequing skewers of meat over at East Coast Food Centre happen to be privy to the same recipe, but when I can get the same for a lot cheaper (plus satay sauce!), you know where I’ll be heading.

Yes, I do understand that during peak periods, quality of the dishes served in restaurants do somewhat take a dip.

All the same, I wouldn’t be heading back there in a hurry.
