Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City has a really wide range and variety of books available ranging from all genre like self improvement, geography, horoscope to languages, travel etc and you will most probably be able to find the books you want or need here. They even sell stuffs like tarot cards here! The sections are neatly organised and you will be able to search and find the genres you want with ease. The shop is spacious as well, so the books and shelves are not crammed together, making it more comfortable to browse and find the book you are looking for.
But one thing about Kinokuniya is that I find the books here quite expensive compared to other bookstores.

Well I think the publishers it choose to stock are more expensive. For example, it doesn't stock cheaper paperbacks such as Wordworth or Penguin less costly versions. There is also no discounted books section unlike in Borders.
Comparing with Borders, it also has a lack of seating areas.
However, it does offers a very wide selection of titles, and many of these will probably cost you more if you choose to order from an online bookstore, considering the exchange rate, shipping cost, etc. Moreover you can place a special order for an unavailable title, so long as their suppliers have it their inventory. Service- wise, I think the staff are generally helpful and demonstrate initiative. Once, I requested for a book via email, and they kindly place it in their counter for me to pick up, without a second question, or me asking for them to do so.

The Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City is very well-stocked. The have almost all the books you need! The best thing is, all of them is anrranged according to different genre in the shop, from travel to food to non-fiction and so on. So you will have no problem finding the books you need! If you can't find anything, the friendly shop assistant are always willing to help.
Furthermore, the ambience of the shop is great. It's quiet and neatly organised and not too crammed.
The only down point is that their books are more expensive then most other bookstores like Times and popular.
