Cathay Cineplex (The Cathay)

The Cathay is one of my fav cinemas. The seats are comfortable and clean.

Particularly like the couples seats which are the last few rows. Spacious and nice for sitting with your loved ones. Not always available in other cinemas. Somehow feel they have more threatres here fitted with the couple seats. Maybe because it is new.

The exit doors are also suitably situated which led you back to the ticketing counter area. Not like some cinmeas where you got led to some ulu place outside the mall.

For NTUC plus card members, there is a promotion of buying 1 get 1 free when you show they a charge slip using that card. Very worthwhile in my opinion. Cost me only $10 for a movies for 2 on weekends.

I always prefer Cathay Cineplexes over Golden Village Cineplexes.

The Cathay cineplex is the best among all. As pointed out by many, the crowd there is not as huge as those at the other cineplexes (even the non-town area ones). This makes it a great place to enjoy a day of pure movie entertainment, without having to squeeze being big crowds and long queues. I like the idea of having many counters at different levels of the building (Cathay Cineleisure does that too). This disperse the crowd and shortens the queue by a lot.

I like the snacks counter. I always find food at Cathay more attractive than at Golden Village. Like their sweetened popcorn.

The seats at The Cathay are spacious and quite clean compared to Golden Village. The seats are like armchairs, don't result in you having neck pains after the show.

Perhaps Cathay can also introduce a movie club scheme like Golden Village does, and let us all Cathay supporters benefit from the scheme. :)
