The Mega Flea Market 11

The Mega Flea Market in its 11th edition held over the 5th and 6th July'2014 weekend at Suntec Convention Centre Hall 404 convenes one of the most interesting combinations of vendors and of course merchandizes. The event was sold out weeks after the launch and a whooping 200 vendors occupied the spacious hall from 11am till 10pm. Neatly arranged booth spaces and well ventilated environment kept escalating body heat of the overly excited shopping crowd in a cool nice crisp mood.

Besides the regular vendors that always brought us the good stuffs at super economical prices, this time round we spotted quite a few new vendors with their handcrafted 'made with love' artisan products and special curated stocks that are handpicked otherwise especially imported. The entire atmosphere was thrilling and fueled with the impulse need to 'shop till you drop' as the never-ending streams of shoppers overflowed in from the various other events and exhibitions happening nearby.

Upholding the culture of The Mega Flea Market , which not only congregates the best vendors for a wonderful marketplace shopping experience, there are also freebies to be given away, prizes to be won and fun activities for the young and old. This time round, we had 'big brother' GUMTREE giving away ice creams at the door, while GO GLOBBY the techy ecommerce site creators was giving away dining and spa vouchers, not forgetting viral marketing brand builder MAPWERKZ with their instagram contest and $50 Takashimaya vouchers. As a special treat shoppers who have purchased more than $50 will get a chance at the lucky draw to win dining vouchers and an IPAD MINI from MAPWERKZ .

Self-concocted and hand whipped with premium ingredients specially imported from Australia. These artisan skin care products have one of the best recipe of premium ingredients we've ever seen with no mineral oil or synthetic ingredients. Though we love the various flavors of handcreams, body lotion and butter, what intrigued us the most were the sugar scrubs that had elderberry extract in them. The texture of the body butter was smooth and non-greasy while the shea butter and grapeseed oil gets absorbed in an amazing speed resulting in soft and supple skin.

Its as though we stumbled upon a gem and we were awed by what hides beneath its simple outlook. (read reviews on this business here )

The coffee was slightly acidic with a robust flavor and is better than many iconic local coffee joints that we've been, while service was fun and with a large smile. So if you are looking something special at your event, this might just make the cut.

As the name imples, this shop carries all the treasures from Nepal for sale at an economical price. Mostly handmade brimming with the colourful traditional Nepalese culture, these accessories and daily wares exudes the embracement of nature in the Kathmandu Valley. We were mostly drawn by the interesting array of colours and the special prints on some of the unique pieces.

Most of the items are eco-friendly and made with sustainable materials such as handmade notebooks and paper laterns from the lokta paper which is made from the fibrous inner bark of high elevation evergreen shrubs and YAK BONE accessories which are made from the carcass of a YAK which is a wild domesticated wild ox.
