The “response” of a space is unique in its own way. Like a language of its own, vibrating messages structurally, holding stories contextually, with emotions and memories embedded deep within the invisible crevices of unornamented walls. Each of us holds a different story for a single room, an esoteric allusion that permeates quietly through time.

When three of such worlds cross paths, what will a wandering mind experience?

This room is different, yet the same as minds flux within. The collective-titled performance – IN:dex is an exploration of the space purely with the distilled elements of light, sound and space, under an estranged working environment. The three artists will only communicate through other mediums (images, articles, poems, etc), negating their own designated element. These pre-production interactions will serve as conversations and inspirations amongst them, only to reveal the end product to one another during the performance. Due to the (prepared) improvisational nature, each performance will be unique and the audience will witness this first-hand conversation real-time. The Theatre Studio will become the “point of intersection” where the three elements entwine and meld to bring forth a serendipitous story of space, time and chance.

INDEX is a design collective winged under The Finger Players, comprising of Spatial Designer Lim Wei Ling, Lighting Designer Lim Woan Wen and Sound Artist/Music Composer Darren Ng. Finding common grounds in quiet aesthetics and subtractive work ethos, the collective focuses on design-centric installations and performances to weave meanings and narratives. RAW Get closer to the creative process of artists who present their works-in-progress at RAW. These presentations are free and participants are encouraged to join artists and industry professionals in post-show dialogue and feedback sessions.
