Description
The Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) Choir is a mixed youth choir under the direction of Mr Terrence Toh. In recent years, the choir has grown in experience and stature her pursuit for choral excellence at home and abroad. Following a sold out concert titled in.harmoNY 2010, the Choir went on to clinch a historical first gold award in the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging for Choirs, a significant milestone in her choral journey. In broadening the choristers’ horizons, the Choir participated in international choral festivals such as Festival of Songs, Olomouc, Czech Republic in 2010 and Concorso Corale Internazionale, Riva del Garda, Italy in 2012, winning gold awards and jury’s accolades. The Choir’s rooted belief in doing good through singing also led to a collaboration with EVOKX, a non-profit choral group led by Mr Terrence Toh, in their annual charity concert Evocation 2011: The Art of Giving. Comprising young singers and a conductor full of energy and fervour for music-making, NYJC choir will continue to strive for greater breakthroughs in her pursuit for music-making but most importantly stay true to what she is – A family of compassionate singers.
