Following in December, the choir competed in the 21st International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music with Petr Eben Prize held in Prague, bringing home the top female and overall homogenous choir award with a Gold diploma. Additionally, the choir attained a special Petr Eben prize and ultimately emerged as the overall champion of the competition, with the grand title of “Laureate of the Festival”. The choir stages annual public concerts and has been active in its service to the society. In 2012, the choir staged “A Cantare I: Can You Feel The Love Tonight”, impressing the audience with a repertoire of traditional pieces and singing, dancing and acting to a self-arranged and choreographed musical segment comprising of popular Broadway tunes. The choristers often engage in busking activities, performing original a cappella arrangements of pop songs at various events to raise funds for various causes. The choir also paid a visit to a senior citizen centre to perform and interact with the elderly. Under the dedicated guidance of the choir’s resident conductor, Ms Anna Loo, the choir has continued to maintain its tradition of choral excellence. In this Limelight performance, the Raffles Girls’ School Choir will bring to you a wide repertoire of pieces from various musical genres.
