Description
EVENT DATE 25-27 Jul 2013 Thu - Sat, 8pm Sat, 3pm
DURATION Approx 1 hr 10 mins
A burning ship. Lips shut tight. A dimming lighthouse. Eyes loom in spite. A bustling port. Skins cull divide.
As
the curves of a forgotten archipelago shape the arms of a sea restless to find the crest of a people unseen.
Summoned by the enigma of Home - between land and sea, seven artists come together to explore underlying tensions in society - longing and leaving; security and restlessness; tradition and change. Unfamiliar narratives of Singapore's past will emerge as they examine selective memory, subjective history and wanton summary. The performance draws from the different artists' disciplines; intersecting theatre, physical movement, dance, music and visual arts.
About The Seven-Headed Dragon The Seven-Headed Dragon collective is a 3 year project initiated by artist Choy Ka Fai, united by a thirst to find fresh narratives of Singapore from oft-forgotten and submerged perspectives. Comprised of contemporary artists from diverse disciplines - theatre, physical movement, dance, music and visual arts - the collective is driven by the belief that art is keenest in collaborative multiplicity.
The Seven-Headed Dragon collective is Zizi Azah, Zulkifle Mahmod, Rizman Putra, Najib Soiman, Mohd Fared Jainal, Norisham Osman and Choy Ka Fai.
