Esplanade Rehearsal Studio Meeting point is at Theatre Studio Entrance (Level 4) 30 minutes before workshop begins.
Discover the joy of movement and fall in love with dance through the festival's Footwork workshops. Conducted by professional instructors, these basic workshops are designed for youth, adults and senior citizens with little or no experience in dance.
Swing dancing was the Hip Hop of the 20s and 30s, and its back in fashion today. This Jazz-partner dance was inspired by the Big Bands of the Swing era, but is danced to many different kinds of music now. The workshop will teach absolute beginners the basics of partner communication in dance, i.e. lead-and-follow technique, and some fun moves to groove to.
