In this workshop, participants will study selected still life paintings from the Princely Treasures. They will be introduced to still life drawing using charcoal on paper, learn the use of shapes and lines and draw a still life that is specially set up in the gallery.
About the artist Tang Ling Nah is inspired by the city’s transitory spaces, such as the void decks in Singapore public housing and spaces in train stations. She creates drawings, installations, book art and videos to explore buildings, places and architectural spaces. Her accolades include the National Arts Council’s Young Artist Award (Art) in 2004. Tang represented Singapore at the 2nd Singapore Biennale in 2008. She also, exhibited a work at the 11th International Architecture Biennale in Venice (Singapore Pavilion).
