Synopsis Recommended for 3 to 10 years of age and families
The Starbird is a most beautiful bird with sparkling wings that can touch the sky. And when the sun begins to set, she will fly way up high, and magically light up the stars that sing, giggle and glow. Starbird is an exciting, fun, and colourful visual and musical adventure inspired by Booker prize-winning author Ben Okri. What happens when a wicked hunter appears in the Starbirds forest? Can she escape from him and save her family? Through a dazzling combination of music, story, dance, costume, puppetry and interactive storytelling, the story of Starbird sensitively and carefully tackles themes of oppression and injustice in a way that is accessible and fun to learn.
