My wife and I were shocked to read that there's a $7.50 service charge on top of the monthly $2.50 charge on our joint current OCBC account. At the Changi branch the counter staff told us the monthly charge is an EXTRA $7.50 a month when the account drops below $3000. We immediately told her to close the account and encash it. When we left the bank we found out to our horror that the amount was lesser by $9.50. None of the bank staff told us anything about the deduction when we encash our account. Back in her office my wife called OCBC immediately and she was told this extra charge may be waived IF WE ASKED FOR IT THERE AND THEN!
