An Australian-Asian fusion cafe. We felt the design and furnishing looks more like those small family restaurant.
We were greeted warmly by the service crew at the entrance and guided to a table. Although its "crampy" but very clean and tidy. The crew proceeded to explain that orders are to be taken and paid at the cashier. Nets acceptable.
Sets inclusive of a main course, soup, dessert and a drink at $14.90 which we loved as its valued for money on the face value.
Soup: Bit blend for taste and had to add pepper.
Main course: Ordered black peppered sirloin ($11.90), Chicken chop (part of set meal). Sirloin was fine though its taste was covered by the sauce which was too spicy for me. Rice that came with the main course was too dry though it still taste quite nice. Chicken chop was fine and tender but the sauce was too blend. At least for the person who ate it.
Dessert: I ordered "Crazy Sue" ($4.50) which was a chocolate and orange flavor cake. Nice blend of both flavors and not too sweet so even when I am full I still can finish the cake. Chocolate walnut that came with the set was also recommended. Commendable, although its a set meal at a low price, the quality and quantity of food wasn't compromised.
Garlic bread: A bit above average though I still prefer the one at "Spaghetti Too" reason being the cheese was not chewy enough and bread not that crispy though its already better than a lot of others I've tried.
On the whole, the taste of food weren't too great. Above average I would say and definitely valued for money. The quality of customer service was also there and highly satisfactory.
Hanabi Restaurant, situated at Bukit Timah Road King's Arcade. We went to this place on Sat for dinner. Read on Yebber's review that there will be a lot of people there so we decided to reserve a table for 3.
When we sat down, the waiter came over and ask us what drinks we want to order when we haven't even open our menu. Turned out its our fault as the buffet comes with complimentary hot or cold Ocha. So we ordered our drinks and sat to look through the menu.
Service was fast and polite. So fast that the moment some one saw my husband took up the menu, he came over and ask us whether we need to order. Not that this was bad. Service crew polite, food served fast and empty plates cleared fast.
Sashimi - I don't eat raw food as I find biting into raw meat very "恐怖“. But even to people like me, the Sashimi looks absolutely fresh and portions given were generously large. My friends who ate this said the meat were succulent and fresh but they ought to put the pieces on cooler or ice to keep the taste there. 2nd portion of the Sashimi ordered were not as nice though. Freshness was still there just that the cuts were not that good. Fish scales can be found.
Tempura - Not that great though served piping hot. We ordered Yasai Tempura and I felt that the vegetables were cooked too throughly and lost their texture. Unagi tempura was not bad with the tempura coating crispy and the Unagi itself soft and sweet. Grilled items - Definitely pre-cooked and re-warmed. Items came out warm and some were cold. Looks dry and uninviting. Grilled items were not too good which can be understood as grilled items take longer to cook. To serve fast, they must be pre-cooked.
Others - We definitely loved the Chiizu Chawanmushi. Though except for a piece of mushroom, there were no other ingredients inside, it was surprising that cheese and eggs blended well together. Not to mention the chewy pieces of cheese at the bottom of the cup.
We also ordered Goma ice-cream (Black Sesame) and Yuzu ice-cream (Jap Lemon?) and Chocolate ice-cream. Both Goma and Yuzu taste heavenly. Especially the Yuzu which is a sorbet ice-cream. Different from other sorbet ice-cream was that it wasn't too watery hence doesn't melt too fast. Pieces of fruits inside the ice-cream and its thick texture makes this item absolutely worthed its price of $4 (per scope)
Total bill for the buffet was $124. Definitely worthed the price.
When we decided to visit this restaurant after choir, we couldn't find a seat and had to wait for 10 mins at 3pm in the afternoon!!
When finally we got our seats, we ordered : Chocolate milk, Pineapple/Mango, Strawberry smoothies named after Disney Princesses, Macaroni and cheese spaghetti and Tomato Pasta.
Chocolate milk was alright. But still, its just normal chocolate milk that HL can do better.Pasta, looks like a big portion. Then again, the size of the dish was small. Sure to say this portion wasn't big enough for my husband. He finished it in 4 mouthfuls and had to add that much cheese to get a flavor out of it.
Macaroni and Cheese ... looks nice but doesn't taste as nice. Too watery and lacking in flavor. Except for macaroni and watery cheese, other ingredients were few. This dish will taste nicer if the amount of ham and pineapple increase.
Menu was limited too~ with only 3 kinds of spaghetti/pasta (one was the pasta of the day). Some kinds of burgers, pizzas and drinks.
Smoothies were what we found tasty there. Interesting blend of fruits such as Mango and Pineapple, healthy and refreshing. Though they can be improved on by crushing the ice to smaller pieces cause as we took our drinks, we found some ice "cubes" at the bottom.
Pizzas were in the shaped of a Mickey's head. Some may find it cute but I just found it unnerving to eat up a Mickey's head. At the cost of $15.90, I don't find it worth the value as the taste of the pizza wasn't that great. Crust too dry and the tomato sauce on it made the pizza salty.
On the whole, I won't recommend this place unless you have a Disney-crazy kid. 3 of us spent a total of $63 and ended with a half full, unsatisfied stomach. Disney Naturally has got good customer service though, the staffs being polite throughout.
However, it should change its ordering system. There were 2 counters there, one at the food area and another where they sell Disney merchandises. We were ushered to the payment counter at the Merchandise area to place order and pay for the food. However, we had to wait for very long as there were people paying for some toys in front of us. Seeing that the queue was slow, the man behind us went to the counter at the food area and placed his order. So in the first place, why were we ushered to the merchandise counter??
I would say I will not step into that place again though its good that they serve healthy meals and have hand washing areas to teach the kids to be healthy and good. But as an adult, I don't really appreciate the cute deco, small seats and confusing system.
$2 an item. Seems to be quite cheap on hearing however, buyers have to beware of what is the item they are buying. There are some items like Tin cans or utensils going for lower than $2 even though they don't come from Japan. So if you happened to get those items that cost cheaper outside, Daiso cannot be consider cheap. Unless you value that the stuffs came from Japan.
Quality of items, I have to give a plus as although many items are small and there are so many different kinds of things on shelves, the merchandise are clean and of good quality comparative to the price.
Practically lots of things can be found there, food stuffs, to toys, toiletries to utensils as well as DIY stuffs. Many items like washing machine cleaner, rice bugs preventer are not commonly found in Singapore.
Negative points though, quite difficult to find a specific item and since many of the staffs are Japanese, its difficult asking them though I can see they brought in staffs for some other countries.
Bought like 2 times from this blogshop, the owner is a friendly and enthusiastic person who is good to interact and trade with. Service and answers to inquiries are fast, polite and accurate. Sending of the parcel is fast though the packaging can still be improved.
Shop has got some unique and beautiful pieces by and by though updates are quite slow and most of the pieces of clothings are normal. Selling tops, shorts, one or 2 dresses and some bags. It will be better if the variety, number of items selling increased. Photos are provided although the size and resolution of the photos can be better.
Sitting down, the place looks quite clean and well-organized. Menu is clear and well designed. The system of ordering food is similar to Pasta Mania, you have to go to the counter to order the food.

While waiting, we were distracted by the chinese restaurant besides Spaghetti Too as the chef there was making something using dough and he was preparing the dough, making a lot of noises in the process.
Dar's Beef Pie came first with the drinks. Too much butter used on the outer crust, hence the taste was overpowering. The pie was more suitable for people who likes strong taste. For me, the beef was way way too salty....
Next came the Garlic Bread with Cheese and this will be what I highly recommend to people. Bread crust being baked to absolute crispiness while the center portion was soft. Cheese added to the chewiness at just the right amount. Not too cheesy or salty. Best eaten hot however, as the texture changes when left cold.
Next came the main courses, Dar and I ordered the Sirloin Steak promotion meal at S$7.90 including a drink. After the delicious garlic bread, we had high expectation of the upcoming meals. However, we were quite disappointed. Although the beef was cooked at medium well done and very tender to eat, the taste of the beef was covered with the sauce. Sauce was too much and too salty. Vegetables were average though a bit overcooked while the mashed potato was not smooth enough. On the whole, the dish can be said to be a bit above average. I will give around 7/10 as taste can be quite subjective depending on the person eating.
Grilled Salmon hot plate Spaghetti. Dish was below average with the salmon being not fresh enough and Spaghetti overcooked. As Claire put it : "I can only taste tomatoes in it with one clump of spaghetti..."
Ordered some desserts as well. Brownie, ordered by Dar, was too sweet and had to be eaten together with the ice-cream to taste nice. Portion was real big comparative to its price of S$2.50.
Claire ordered the Apple Cobbler . Like the brownie, it tasted good when eaten together with the ice-cream, otherwise, its just a sweet dessert. Perhaps thats why they were served with the ice-cream placed on top? It would be better if the Apple Cobbler was packed more tightly as it was practically crumbling apart while we ate it.
Best dessert of the day and highly recommended by me will be the Italian Chocolate cake. Warmed and served with ice-cream by the side, the texture was thick and I expected it to be too sweet. However, as I put it into my mouth, the cake was chewy, full of "chocoty" flavor and not too sweet. Tasted great with or without ice-cream.
Altogether, we ordered 2 Sirloin Steak promo meals, 1 Salmon Spaghetti Promo meal, 2 portions Garlic bread, 1 Beef pie, 2 extra drinks and 3 desserts and we spent $39.80! No doubt the main courses were not that great but they were above average. Side dishes, desserts as well as the service quality were of satisfactory level. Hence conclusion, Value for Money!
Saturday, we met up with my parents-in-law for a dinner at Foster's at Holland Village. After dinner while strolling to go home, we came across the newly opened Swensen's Gelato Parlor. Having some vouchers gotten when we went to eat at Swensen's, we decided to get some ice-cream for the Wii session on Sunday.
Deco at the Parlor looks like the typical ice-cream specialty shops like Gelare, Andersen's and Scoopz. When we went in, the manager explained to us their system for take aways.
Take aways come in tubs of 500ml (2 flavors @ $9.30) and 1000ml (3 flavors @$16.30). We decided to get a tub 500ml and a tub 1000ml while my parents-in-law got themselves small cups of ice-cream (free since we have got vouchers but the original price was $3.30).
Service quality of the Parlor was very good, polite, friendly and not stingy on the portion of ice-cream even for the free cups my parents received. I will give 9/10 for them. Insulating job for the ice-cream tubs were well done too, using foiled paper bags and scotch tapes to secure the tubs.
Altogether, we bought Mango, Hazelnut, Passionfruit, Super Lemon and Soursop flavors and I must say, the selection available was quite limited. Other flavors we did not buy were Green tea, Blueberry, Durian, Raspberry and Pistachio. 2 other flavors I forgot.
The ice-cream flavors on the average, were on the sweet side with little fruits in them, tasted a little thin. Flavor weren't as full as I'll like them. Scoopz still remained as my favorite brand of ice-cream. Better flavors of the 5 we bought were Mango and Soursop but mostly because both fruits produce fuller flavor though I don't like the bitter after taste of the Mango. It will be better if variety of flavors increased.
Went and bought the Double Chocolate mint and didn't understand why its called "Double choc". It has only a tinee winee hint of any minty taste and the taste doesn't blend at all. Also bought the Cranberry and felt that it actually tasted abit weird and too dry.
Both flavors gave me the feeling that Little Jerry's wants to do it good but doesn't put in enough effort. Both flavors also leaves a floury after-taste that coats the mouth uncomfortably.
Service wasn't too good as well though the shop front looks good.
Although the price is lower than Famous Amos or or Mrs Fields, I will gladly pay more for Famous Amos delicious cookies than Little Jerry's. However, there are other flavors like the Oat or Macadamia flavor that I would like to try as they look nice to me... will update the review once I tried the rest.
Just bought my Zen mp3 from Creative Store at the Turns2 promotion. I must say for a celebration of turning 2, the promotions weren't that great. However this is a side track as the review should not be about the promotion.
Well, the website, well organized and easy to surf. Payment with the purchase can be done at the website using credit card and everything was smooth and fast. Immediately after the purchase and payment, I received an email confirming the order and that the delivery date is 2 days.
Right next day, I received a call from Creative confirming with me the time for delivery. Since they used Singpost, I requested for after working hours. After a check, seems like its not possible. The customer service then check with me whether Sat is possible. After the confirmation, I received yet another email with the date and time for delivery. Easy to negotiate to and accommodating, I must say the experience is good.
At first I thought the items must be for stock clearance but when I received the items, they were nicely packed and looks thoroughly new. Pleasant surprise that a further check reviewed that the ear piece was produced this yr and the Zen was less than 6 mths ago.
The FAQ portion of the website is also well done. I had trouble starting up the Zen and was able to find the descriptive solution fast and with ease though loading the page was a bit slow.
Just went to this place for viewing of a musical "Broadway Beng". Located at the 3rd storey of the building.
The place is quite small with 2 level of circle seats as well as the stall seats. Seats are comfy with polished wood backing and gives the theater the "feel" that audiences are in for a great show. However leg space is limited so those whom are late will find it difficult to walk through. Those with longer legs will not be too comfortable.
Sound system is great with minimal "emptiness" or "noises". Sounded perfect to me where I was sitting. There are 2 screen panels (great quality image) at the side of the stage and can be used in conjunction with the show on-going. Designed more for theater rather than vocal.

Better flavors of the 5 we bought were Mango and Soursop but mostly because both fruits produce fuller flavor though I don't like the bitter after taste of the Mango.
It will be better if variety of flavors increased.

Went and bought the Double Chocolate mint and didn't understand why its called "Double choc". It has only a tinee winee hint of any minty taste and the taste doesn't blend at all. Also bought the Cranberry and felt that it actually tasted abit weird and too dry.
Both flavors gave me the feeling that Little Jerry's wants to do it good but doesn't put in enough effort. Both flavors also leaves a floury after-taste that coats the mouth uncomfortably.
Service wasn't too good as well though the shop front looks good.
Although the price is lower than Famous Amos or or Mrs Fields, I will gladly pay more for Famous Amos delicious cookies than Little Jerry's. However, there are other flavors like the Oat or Macadamia flavor that I would like to try as they look nice to me... will update the review once I tried the rest.

Just bought my Zen mp3 from Creative Store at the Turns2 promotion. I must say for a celebration of turning 2, the promotions weren't that great. However this is a side track as the review should not be about the promotion.
Well, the website, well organized and easy to surf. Payment with the purchase can be done at the website using credit card and everything was smooth and fast. Immediately after the purchase and payment, I received an email confirming the order and that the delivery date is 2 days.
Right next day, I received a call from Creative confirming with me the time for delivery. Since they used Singpost, I requested for after working hours. After a check, seems like its not possible. The customer service then check with me whether Sat is possible. After the confirmation, I received yet another email with the date and time for delivery. Easy to negotiate to and accommodating, I must say the experience is good.
At first I thought the items must be for stock clearance but when I received the items, they were nicely packed and looks thoroughly new. Pleasant surprise that a further check reviewed that the ear piece was produced this yr and the Zen was less than 6 mths ago.
The FAQ portion of the website is also well done. I had trouble starting up the Zen and was able to find the descriptive solution fast and with ease though loading the page was a bit slow.

Just went to this place for viewing of a musical "Broadway Beng". Located at the 3rd storey of the building.
The place is quite small with 2 level of circle seats as well as the stall seats. Seats are comfy with polished wood backing and gives the theater the "feel" that audiences are in for a great show. However leg space is limited so those whom are late will find it difficult to walk through. Those with longer legs will not be too comfortable.
Sound system is great with minimal "emptiness" or "noises". Sounded perfect to me where I was sitting. There are 2 screen panels (great quality image) at the side of the stage and can be used in conjunction with the show on-going. Designed more for theater rather than vocal.
