Sometime last month, I was at this particular outlet of Secret Recipe at VivoCity and their service leaves much to be desired. I was there around 8 plus, walking around doing some window shopping with my gf. As I was feeling a bit hungry, we decided to have a cake or two and some coffee.

The number of patrons then were nt that many. So after being shown our seats and our order taken, we waited for our food to arrive. We had ordered two slices of cake and two cups of black coffee.

The first piece of cake came and we started eating away. Normally the coffee should come together or at least right after that. But no, it didn't and we were already halfway done with our first slice when I decided to call the waiter to check things out. In my mind I was thinking, it was just two cups of pain black coffe, how long do you need to prepare it?

So after our enquiry, the coffee finally came but then where was our 2nd slice of cake? Again, I had to ask the waiter to check and then only was our 2nd slice of cake brought to us.

All this while, the waiter didn't bother to so much as make an apology for the delay in the serving of our drinks and food. And I saw that people who came in later than us were already having their food served and eating away. And theirs was a main course like pasta and not cakes which could be easily whipped out form the counter.

That really turned me off. So we finished up our food and drinks promptly instead of slowly sipping our coffee and enjoying our cakes and called for the bill.

To me, that experience was really bad and I will definitely not be going back there again.

Had eaten at this outlet a couple of times after catching a movie or a meal for some desserts and coffee.

Firstly, I must say that the serving of each slice of cake was really huge as compared to other places such as TCC, Coffebean and Starbucks. Nt to mention that the price of each slice is fixed at $4.90, irregardless of the type of cake.

So far I have tried Mocha Walnut, Moist Chocolate Cake, Almond Coffee,Black Forest, Tiramisu, Chocolate Indulgence,Cappucino Cheese, and Chocolate Fudge. All of them tasted really good and I must say that the cakes though creamy, weren't as sweet as one may think and goes down really well with a cup of black coffee. Thinking of the cakes really makes me drool and wanna rush to have them right now. (",)

So do go and give it a try and I am sure that you will love the cakes.

Their cakes are great and value for money esp if you buy the whole cake. $45 for quite a large cake. :)

Was in Hong Kong during the last few days of December last year with my family and girlfriend. During our stay there, one of the places of interest that we visited was of course Disneyland.

Prior to that, I had never been to any other Disneyland around the world. So to me this was my first experience at a Disney Theme Park.

Disneyland was located on Lantau Island and we took a catered bus by the travel agency to get there instead of the MTR (Mass Transit Railway). However, later we found out that we should have taken the MTR instead as it was said that the Disney characters would actually be onboard the train to allow passengers to take pictures. Nevertheless, we did manage to take pictures with characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, and a couple others as well in the theme park.

Coming back to the theme park, it is basically split into four areas namely Main Street USA, AdventureLand, FantasyLand and TomorrowLand. For a more in-depth description of each section, you can visit the official website for details as well as the map of the theme park.

Most of the games there were catered mostly for kids and young children. Therefore for adults going there, there are only a couple of games or activities which is more suitable. A few of them are the Space Mountain (indoor roller coaster), Autopia ( Future Car Driving), Jungle River Cruise and Tarzan Island.

Of course, there are also several shows such as Festival of the Lion King, Stitch Encounter and the best of them all The Golden Mickeys at Disney's Storybook Theater. It was really fun hearing Mickey and gang talking in Cantonese on stage.

The main attraction at the theme park was of course the Disney On Parade, whereby all the characters will take to the streets for a grand parade, quite similar to that of the Chingay Parade in Singapore. Lastly, not to be missed would be the fireworks in the evening, where the
amazing fireworks explode to the masterfully choreographed sounds of classic Disney music to round off the whole visit to DisneyLand.

Overall, the experience was a good one and as the park is really quite small as compared to the rest of the other Disneylands around the world, a one day visit pass would more than suffice. Do check out the official website for more information and on-going promotions too.

Been to this place for a couple of times in the past and my last visit there was maybe around a month or two ago. Their signature dishes are the chicken wings, chicken drumsticks (which were really huge) and the crispy ikan bilis (which had a sweet and spicy flavour).

The nasi lemak rice was also quite fragrant and the serving was quite ok as well.

However as there are limited parking lots nearby, most people tend to park their cars illegally on the roadside. So if you are driving, do be prepared to watch out for that auntie minah while you are enjoying your meal.

For those taking buses, buses like 167, 980, 800 (feeder bus from Yishun Interchange) are available but you need to cross a overhead bridge to get there. Therefore, it would be best that you drive there even though lots are limited.

The stall normally opens around 5pm and you can expect a queue there but not to worry as the service is quite fast and you can get to enjoy ur meal in around 10 minutes or so.

Have tried queuing up to buy a box of donuts from this branch a couple of times, but everytime the waiting was sooo long till I gave up. In the end, I decided to join the queue at the cafe instead, whereby each customer is only allowed to buy any two flavours. Since I was with my girlfriend, we bought 4 different flavours : Peanut Butter Glazed, Lotus Mocha, Coffe Roasted Almond and Double Chocolate.

The taste wasn't really that special. Yes the donuts were much softer than the traditional ones we used to buy from the confectionaries. But I found them to be a bit too sweet for my liking though I do have a sweet tooth. Therefore, It may be good to perhaps get a cuppa of coffee black (kosong) to go along when you are eating the donuts. Of course, that's a personal preference.

To conclude, I would say that the variety given are quite alplenty, 16 different flavours in total. However, the quality service leaves much to be desired as the waiting time is far too long and one has to be prepared to be not gettg anything at all in the end when their turn arrives. Therefore, I would strongly recommend that you queue up at the cafe counter instead to just get hold of a few flavours.
