Me too. The worst haircut experience ever. Totally ruined my fringe and my mood.
The service was totally lousy. First, the gal kept criticising my hair, saying need to do do this and that treatment etc... It's so hard sell. Can't I just cut my hair in peace? Then, criticising my previous hairstylist, saying the hair is too layered blah blah so she will only trim the bottom to let the hair grow back. Didn't ur hairdressing school not teach her that it is neccessary to trim the deadends? Next, the fringe. It was uneven. I told her to cut again and the reply was your hair is like that blah blah.. but my previous stylist didn't ruin it the way she did. Everything was done in such a slipshod manner that I think I'd rather walk into a QB outlet who does a decent haircut in 10 mins than to EVER step into the place again.

I hate the worst haircut in my entire life in Chapter 2 Marina Square! By the Salon Manager himself - Jeft.
He totally ruin my hair by cutting it into 2 steps. Think Bon Jovi in the 80's! super short crown and super long bottom.
I have told him a bit of layers to make it soft ala Nicole Richie. But instead i got a ****** haircut that even e next hair dresser i went to, was reluctant to cut my hair!
However i manage to find one who was willing and she manage to blend it and it took her 2hrs to sort out my hair.
No recommendation whatsoever unless you want to look like a walking mushroom or sotong!

I have heard that Chapter 2 is not bad and I was interested to try it out especially since it is a spin-off from Kimage (for aunties) so the standard should be ok.
But to my horror(!), their machines are so back-dated... I swear nowadays all the saloons I go to no longer use those big bulky astronaut-looking bubble head steamers. I feel like a throw back to the 90s in HDB. For such a hip looking place, I feel they should have more up-to-date machines.
Same goes for their hair color product. Tried to introduce me to a NEW loreal hair highlight color which I actually already tried one year ago! Thank god I'm so particular about hair that I actually remember everything that goes onto my hair. NEW as in brand new product and just got it???
Hair cut was normal, nothing fabulous but nothing bad. Hairstylists are young but ok. Heard from the person doing my hair that a lot people who graduated from Kimage academy will work at Chapter 2 so that's why there are so many young hairstylist there.
All in all, I wouldn't be stepping in there for the time being. Not until they update themselves for goodness sake. Can't imagine that they have a brand Kimage behind them and yet can be so out-dated. The boss should not stinge on Chapter 2 just because the price is lower. Spend some money and upgrade! Disappointing to say the least.

Chapter 2 is very conveniently located in Bugis Area. Furthermore, it gives discount for SMU students. Just 2 reasons are enough to make me go there (well, besides that my fringe needs emergency cutting).
I left with a prettily cut fringe and nicely layered hair.
But actually I wasn't really impressed with the service. The hairstylist was nice (and I told you I left with good haircut/fringecut), but I don't think the others were.
First off, I phoned to book a slot. They said they have a slot available 1.5 hour from the time I phoned and other slots are unavailable, so I settled some stuff and went there immediately with my boyfriend.
When we arrived, surprise! It was actually pretty empty. If I remember correctly, there was only 2 or 3 people being served. Generally, it was empty. So I said I was going to cut my hair and fringe and that I already phoned. So they "uh-huh"ed and they gave me a seat and I was LEFT. I was just left for like 15 minutes or so before they finally called me up to wash my hair.
The person who washed my hair tried to strike a conversation ; or rather to make a sale. She said my hair is very oily (of course lah, I haven't washed my hair) and should get some treatment blah blah blah. I refused politely.
I finished washing my hair and they tied my hair up in a towel....
And I was left again.
I really can't understand why I was being left. I mean, it's not like the salon is very busy. It was empty, not like how it claimed. Lucky my boyfriend was there to accompany me.. He was initially interested to do some treatment while I cut my hair, but cancelled after seeing me being abandoned with wet hair. FYI, even after the hair cut, the back part of my blouse was wet, the result of my wet hair not being dried until I waited for more 15 or 20 minutes.
They finally came to me and dried my hair. And they finally moved me from a seat that was placed directly under the air-con (so imagine, having a wet wet hair under an air-con).
The person dried my hair (I was screaming "Finally" in my heart) and made some remarks about my hair again. She said my hair was dry and in need of treatment. Like duh. Another person just said my hair was oily. WTH. What a bad hair I have.
I was left again (this time, at least, on shorter interval), and finally a hairstylist came. She asked what kind of hairstyle I want, I just said "Cut my fringe to be presentable and layer a bit my lower part".
Cut cut cut, and done.
I left with a prettily cut fringe and nicely layered hair AND a wet blouse.
Paid 28 something and left.
Not sure whether I will go back. Sigh.

Chapter 2 has a concept which is very different from other hair salons.
Firstly, they have lockers for you to place your bags in! You do not have to worry that your stuffs might get missing when you have to move upstairs for your hair services!
They have categorised their stylists into 3 different categories, which means you can choose 3 different stylist to do your cutting, colouring, perming/rebonding! And all these takes place at different levels!
-----------------
I went for a trim for my permed hair recently and was served by Celeste. very friendly and chirpy lady! She spent a longer time styling my hair than cutting, and my hair looks like just permed even though its only a trim!
I will try the chemical services next time!

Located near a bus stop just beside Bugis Village, Chapter 2 is a hair salon very convenient to get to. Apart from that, it is a place with a rather different atmosphere. It does not look like a "designer place" but it gives people the feeling that it is a rather lively place.
Hairdressers at this salon are mainly people who are quite young, but this does not mean that they are inexperienced. The place seems to be quite popular and it is always quite packed. Then again, I'm not surprised, because the last 5 times or so that I've been there, I left with a very satisfied haircut. One of those times, the hairdresser attending to me actually suggested to make a small change to my hair which eventually gave a very different touch on the overall.
I would say this place is not a bad place to go to for a good haircut, especially for people who are very particular about leaving the salon with a presentable hairstyle.
