A new Old Town White Coffee Cafe open in Pasir Ris White Sands. A friend told me he has been waiting to try. Cafe decor is nice and cosy but the food is terrible. Never try the BBQ chicken wanton noodles. Slapping a pile of noodles (4 mouthful only) and then drop in the bits end of the BBQ chicken followed by 3 floured tasteless wanton in a sauce bowl. The chicken rendang is also disappointing. The only consolation is the food comes with a free white coffee. There were 3 girls who paid before us complaining that they bill comes to 26 dollars. (very expensive). Our bill for 1 chicken rendang,1 BBQ wanton and a honey lemon juice comes to 21.00. Pricey is one thing but food quality is really terrible. Not sure if this cafe is going to last. If they sell the coffee only, maybe they will survive but with food.........I am going to watch and see how long it will last.

      Nice place to chill out~

Went for coffee last night with family, the whole 7 of us. Heard so much about the coffee so was quite excited to finally try it.

Maybe my expectations were raised by the hype surrounding it, but my old town white coffee tasted like, well, your coffeeshop kopi, no doubt a good one. This normal version was also quite thick, so I can't imagine how their 'gao' version would taste. Stay away people sensitive to caffeine!

My bro had the hazelnut coffee which he said was okay, but looked really cute with the heart-shaped foam on top.

Post dinner for us, so we only ordered the garlic bread and ice-cream toast to share. The ice cream toast was done up nicely in a small tower, which I thought was a nice effort by them to dress it up despite the coffee-shop theme.

It was nicely packed on a weekday night, but I think it's thronged with families on weekends, so come on weekdays if you can. Also less noisy than Ya Kun or Toast Box, but then again maybe it's due to the relatively ulu location.

Would probably pop by if I'm in the vicinity or are with friends who drives~

I did went to old town. As i am aware that we are the kiasu people , i keep reminding myself not to be too kiasu with the little money i spend to try out this famous malaysia coffee chain outlet.
I feel that overall it is worth to give a try as long you just happened to pass by the outlet.
Furthermore i am just an ordinary people that earning less than 5k per month salary, I always respect the people that able to run the business well. Personally i feel that many people just like to complaint and expect too much.
      Right.

Went on Tuesday evening with la famiglia, heeding my aunt's recommendation that their toast is pretty good.

      Big mistake.

The crowd was thin, what with it being a weekday, but the moment we stepped in, we were handed an order chit with almost half of their items struck out.

My mom promptly said, "It's a Tuesday, the markets are operating, what's your excuse?"

The waiter just gave her a helpless look.

Trying to make do with what's available, we ordered a couple of the recommendations:

OLDTOWN Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun ($4.90): Ipoh happens to be the matriarch's hometown, & this is an insult to its memory. When queried on how it tasted, she replied that it was indescribable. I took a sip of the soup & had to agree... it was indescribably bad. Besides which, if the dish is going to come out looking like total ****, please don't take such a nice photo for the menu. I do know that 'the photos are for illustration purposes only' or some such thing, but this oughta be considered criminal misrepresentation.

OLDTOWN Curry Mee ($4.90): Ordered two bowls of the stuff, one came short of ingredients when compared to the other. Really, there's a hawker centre at Thomson that sells better at a lower price. The one at the hawker centre behind Chinatown Point would murder this one any day of the week.

Nissin Noodle with Chicken Ham & Egg ($3.50): If one could actually get instant noodles wrong... it would've taken a lot of effort. Thankfully, this came out ok.

Kaya & Butter Toast (Double) ($1.60), Peanut Butter/Strawberry Puree Thick Toast ($2.20), Omega Soft Boiled Eggs On Toast ($2.50): Passable, just barely. If these came hot off the stove, I'm a day-old chick.

OLDTOWN White Milk Tea ($1.60 for Hot, $1.90 for Cold): Their single redeeming feature, which disappeared in a single gulp.

I'm pretty sure that both their Nasi Rendang Chicken & Nasi Lemak Special are great stuff... as a matter of fact, towards the end of our meal, we noticed that the latter dish was available again after some deliveries were made.

Too little, too late, this joint's just about condemned in our eyes.

Went over to Mingles next door just to get over the trauma (read my review on the joint).

Jack, please stick to making movies, aiight?

Dropped by Old Town White Coffee one Saturday evening as my aunt wanted to try out their white coffee. We heard that this is a very well-known established brand in Malaysia, comparable to Singapore's Ya Kun!

As expected, we were greeted by a Saturday evening crowd.. with kids running around and people who had just finished their beach activities at East Coast Park.

We went in to the shop and there was no sign telling us to wait to be served to our seats so we thought it was self-service and we could choose any seats we wanted. As the cafe was full house, me, my sis and my Grandma waited at 3 different tables for the customers to finish.

A waitress then came to ask if we were waiting for seats and told us to wait at the entrance. After ten minutes, we were finally given a seat meant for 4 persons when we had 5. The space between each table was so cramp! However, we later changed to a longer 6-seater sofa seat which was more comfortable and suitable for us to dine in.

      We ordered these items:
      - 2 Nanyang Kopi-O
      - 1 Iced Chocolate
      - 1 Iced Blended Milk Tea
      - 2 sets of Nasi Rendang Chicken
      - 1 Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun
      - 1 French Toast
      - 1 Kaya Butter Toast
      - 1 Garlic Toat
      - 1 Peanut Butter Thick Toast

ruffnooka is right about them not having many items on their menu available for customers.

My aunt & mother at first wanted their famous White Coffee but the waitress informed us that all White Coffee drinks are sold out! They had to change their orders.

And 2 of our toasts ordered initially also had to be changed to other items. The manager even had to come to our table and cancel all those items that were not available!

The food soon came and the Nasi Rendang Chicken was really good! The rendang and chilli, I believe they handmade themselves. The Ipoh Hor Fun was quite little but the soup was very tasty and those who can take spicy stuff, add in the red chopped chilli!

My aunt complimented them on their toasts cos they were made on the spot and the kaya was fresh! Their bread were toasted to perfection too.

We spent a total of $50 for this meal and I think it is quite reasonable but my Grandma thinks otherwise! She feels that cofee & bread should not cost that expensive.

But I would recommend this place to others because the food served is special and the taste does not lose to restaurants!

Visited the Old Town White Coffee outlet at Big Splash on a weekday late morning. The cafe was not crowded. Stepped into the cafe, service was not very prompt. We looked for a place to sit and no one came up to us with the menu. I went ahead to get the menu from the service counter. Ordering was done through a chit that was placed at every table. We ordered the Old Town white coffee (both hot and cold), toast and curry chicken with toast. It took us a while to get the attention of the waitresses. Five minutes later, the waitress came back to inform us of the items that were not available. We had to replace our curry chicken with toast. The drinks took a long time, and came seperately. The toast was not exactly hot off the stove, a little cold, considering the fact that it was just made. Ten minutes later, another waitress then came back to tell us that our 2nd choice of curry chicken with sticky rice, was also not available. We gave up.

The hot coffee was quite average. Nothing spectacular. Same for the cold. The toast was below average.

Service was bad. The waitresses don't seem to speak / understand English very well.
