This was my first time trying Saybon’s Tomato soup. Initially was hesitant about buying it as the price seems a little high.
Glad I actually bought it, as it was really worth it;D
The tomato soup is thick and creamy. It is rich with flavour and I could taste real tomato bits within almost every mouthful of soup I took.
It brings out the taste of sweetness together with a mild sourness of the fresh tomato;D
And despite it looking small in serving, I get pretty full after finishing the whole cup of tomato soup!(:

Hi.. my girlfriend who lives in the US drools over the Broccoli Cheddar soup at Panera Bread and would love to have it here in Singapore. She was very confident that there ain't a Panera Bread and that I qould not get to taste it. Now having read the above threads, am very glad that this soup is available here. Am sure that she is gonna love it when I get here to try it out. However, am curious to know whether the soup tastes any different from the one at Panera Bread in the US.. If anyone reads this, please inform me... Saybons... thank you very much for having the soup in you menu!!
Cheers!

This outlet is located at the basement of the Plaza Singapura. I think it is its clean and simple look that made me took a second look at them. Without the big banners or loud attractive words, they stand out from the rest of the stores with its open concept cooking. I pretty like this open concept idea as diners will be able to look at how their food was being prepared in full view. Diners will also feel safe to know that their food is prepared with the freshest ingredients in the most hygienic level.
They have placed some chairs outside their store to create a seating place for diners who wish to have their food seated down. However, I find the place bit too cramp for my liking. I would prefer a slightly bigger space to savour my crepe more comfortably. But come to think of it, it wouldn’t take much time to complete the crepe so believe the cramp seats will not pose too much of a issue. :)
They have basically two main types of crepes – the dessert crepes as well as the savoury ones. Few of their more popular dessert crepes include the nutty nutella and the banana madness. As for their savoury crepes, the popular ones are ham & cheese and mushroom & cheese. They also allow one to add in additional ingredients of their choice, which include valrhona chocolate, almond and hazelnut for the dessert crepes as well as egg and chicken for the savoury ones.
There are few things which I liked about their crepes. First, it would be the texture of the crepes which was surprising crispy on its outer layer yet soft in the inner layer. Next, the ingredients that were packed inside the crepes were not stingy at all. One will be able to taste the ingredients even till the last piece of the crepe. Lastly, the crepes were being packed with a cone shaped wrapper, which I think it’s pretty convenient to eat it on the go or people who are in the rush. However, I think “Saybons” would impress me further if they can make the crepe skin at the same time they prepare my crepe. This would ensure that the crepe skin used in every crepe would be fresh.
Out of both types of crepes, I personally prefer the savoury crepes as I felt that the dessert crepes are bit too sweet for my liking. If one is not sure what types of crepes to select, you may wish to follow their 'healthier choice' logo and choose one that is tasty yet good for your health. Beside crepes, they also sell soups (wild mushrooms, seafood bisque, tomato and broccoli & cheddar) and focaccia bread. A good alternative if you are sick of their crepes. :)
In any case, if you think that Plaza Singapura is too far for you, you can also get a taste of their soups in the selected golden village at Vivocity and Great World. :)

yummyyy! tried their tomato soup with focaccia bread the last time round, and i was truly happy with wad my taste buds were greeted with! the soup is thick with taste of real tomato, without too much additional flavouring to spoil the naturally good taste. the bread surprised me too. while it looked just like some normal garlic bread or sort, it's really delicious and went well with the soup.
tried their mushroom and cheese crepe today. at $4.50 i'd say it's rather pricey. lotsa cheese tho, and as usual it wasn't disappointing. but somehow, this time round, sth seems to be missing. i can't quite put my finger to it, but maybe it's cos it tasted a tad dry? -shrugs-
all in all still worth a try!

crepes, nutella crepes, nutellacrepes with white chocolate.
close to being in heaven i think.
sure i kinda scalded my tongue cos it was still hot when i bit into the crispy yet soft crepe and the warm delicious chocolate. it is such a guilty pleasure yet i dont mind spending 3-4 dollars for something so delicious and good. some places really do not serve up good crepes but saybons does.
bf got the apple cinnamon one n i liked it, not too much cinammon was used but could still taste both the apple with a hint of cinammon.but still love my chocolate one.
i find the concept very fresh n intresting.the focaccia bread was good too, not super hard and very flavourful, goes very well with the garlic spread.
have yet to try the soups though.
theres always the next visit.
staff are young but professional, friendly..accomodating n always have a smile on their face.

I decided to try saybons due to the big hoo-ha about it in the papers.
My friend ordered the nutty nutella crepe, whereas I had the strawberry seduction crepe and a cup of brocolli & cheddar soup.
I have to say I love the soup; perfect for cold rainy days. *bliss* However, the crepes were a disappointment. My strawberry seduction had only 3 thin slices of strawberries and the crepe itself was a tad too oily for my liking. (from the picture, it looks like roti prata!)
I have yet to try their focaccia bread - bet it would taste really good with the soups.
I noticed they have added savory crepes to their menu recently. Hopefully it would be much better than the dessert ones.
Price wise, soup was totally worth it but no-no to the crepes.

C'est Bon which means 'it's good' in French. This shop is inspired by that they make it a little easier and unique, for people to remember and pronounced it by anglicized the phrase and added a 's' at the back.
Their menu is simple and clear cut - Soups, bread, crepes. I sampled their wild mushrooms soup. Not creamy but it has a very fresh and smooth taste. You can just drink it without using a spoon to stir or scoup to drink. So, their packaging for soup is a disposal cup, not bowl with spoon. I bought the seafood bisque as their wild mushrooms soup was sold out when I went back after a movie around 9pm plus. They have tomato soup and broccoli & cheddar soup too.
I will try their crepes and focaccia bread some other time coz I do not have anymore space in my stomach except for the soup. :p
