25 Oct 2014 (Sat) Had brunch with the lady boss of Ashleigh Ivory who was so kind to drive me there! The place is actually accessible, just 5 minutes walking distance from Kembangan mrt.
The first dish i was served was the fried mee siam, tasted like mee hoon, perfect for breakfast, for in between times you feel hungry or for a light lunch. The fried mee siam is not oily but tangy and slightly spicy. ;)
Next, i tried the Chee Cheong Fun and I like the texture of the chee cheong fun! It contains a special blend sauce (secret recipe) and there is even taupok!
Coming to my favourite of this foodshop: Porridge Bento Set; Sweet potato porridge top with white bait fish (1 person portion) The set has braised pork, taukwa, salted egg, chye poh omelette, pickle and kiam chye or mui choy.
I met up with the three lady bosses Jill, Judy and Tino. They grew up eating dumplings and would like to introduce the delightful flavours of Malaysian KL Bakchang (Dumplings) to Singapore! #INSPIRATION
The dumpling recipe came from Jill’s grandmother and hence the shop name of Teochew Moi Rice Dumpling. Her grandmother’s last name is Moi. This 50 year old home made receipe from Grandmother Moi is sold in KL for the past 25 years from her home. The secret? Fresh quality ingredients, soft moist rice with tender and fragrant pork filling.

A great place to dine with friends for authentic Teo Chew Cuisines, the food was exceptionally good and not to mention the beautiful oldish deco...
We loved many dishes, especially the specially hand made rice dumplings that kinda reminded us of my grandmother. She used to make many of these ingredient stuffed dumplings and tied tightly with strips of rafia strings. This dumpling recipe was also passed down from one of the owner's grandma and well the ingredients were fresh and well loaded into each dumpling.
Besides the dumplings, be sure to try out other teochew fares like the teochew porridge with preserved vegs and other savoury sides, good for a light lunch, while not forgetting the super yummy yam cakes and bo bo cha cha for a sweet ending.
The place is nice, warm and welcoming, staffs are friendly and have plenty of seats. The food was as good as home made and well, reminded me of my childhood... Price was reasonable and they do catering as well, so if you need a slice of the teochew culture in your party, you know who to call for a deliciously healthy affair.
