The Singapore Flyer, a giant observation wheel that features brilliant engineering breakthroughs a world apart from the traditional ferris wheel, is set to be Asia's most visible iconic visitor attraction. It will provide breathtaking, panoramic views of Singapore and beyond.

The Singapore Flyer - Hotels and Travels

Took the flyer sometime ago. For $29.50 per person, I would think it is a bit overpriced. Luckily, then i went on some student promotion which is a steal. Thus, you can keep a lookout for student promos on the website.

I went on a weekday and there was no queue at all. All were quite speedy and the service was alright. Remember to take the audio device before boarding. It was quite informative. At the same time, the pamphlet given was quite well designed. It is circular and is like a compass, showing you the different landmarks as you take the ride.

The ride was quite nice. Allowing you quite unique views of Singapore. Then, the IR was not totally up yet, so not much to comment on it. If i remember correctly, on the way down, there is still a miniature display of the IR. Keep a look out for it.

Food wise, there are quite a variety at the Flyer. Popeye's seems the most affordable to me.

Had admission to Singapore Flyer with my friend .

We took the flyer on a morning .The customer service they provided was good. Security check has been imposed as the entrance where bags & people were scanned for dangerous items. The aircon inside the capsule keep everyone cool and it had enough space for us to walk around but very sad is there wasn't much to view due to the numerous construction and the day view is normal so this made me feeling that the entrance fees $29.50 a bit expensive .

when the IR is completed, I would go on the Flyer again but not in morning is at evening where the scenery will be more beautiful than now.

I bought my tickets even before The Flyer launched but only went on Wednesday.

I have heard alot of stories when people up there, slow, boring, nothing to see also excited, kids have fun.

When I jump board the capsule, i am excited coz it's not station waiting for you to board, it's moving. The views are great, as it goes higher and higher, even better. I boarded at 5.30pm just after drizzling and caught a rainbow in view.

As the capsule goes real high, i start to feel my legs weak especially when i look down to see the tiny cars and buses and human beneath me. It was great but really not for weak heart ya.

Just as you approach the tiptop, they will annonce to tell you that you are at the highest point.

I enjoy the ride and find it too fast, only around 20minutes i touch down on earth again.

Will sure go again when RI is completed, by then might have much nicer scenery and will head straight to Kenko after the ride for foot massage to strength my weaken legs, :)

I was excited when the Singapore Flyer opened and could not wait to get on it. I finally got tickets to watch the National Day Parade 2008 preview from the Flyer. It was spectacular especially when you see helicopters that close and have a birdeye's view of the parade. I'm glad I also got to see the fireworks from the top! It was a different take and definitely worth it!!

If not for the National Day Parade, I would not think it would have enjoyed it that much as I realised on the 2nd part of the ride (coming down). There was pretty much nothing to see except construction works down below and the golf course which can be seen from the bridge. I think it would be better once the IR is in place with much vibrance :)

While I did like the fact that they took your photo on the capsule (which was very difficult to take with foggy windows), I did not fancy the price - 15$ per photo is a little too hard on the wallet. But for that experience a nice souvenir won't do much harm!

I went to the Singapore Flyer a few months after it was opened for operation.

I went for the ride in the afternoon, so what i saw was the day view. The weather outside was scorching hot, but fortunately the capsule was air-conditioned. The capsule itself is rather spacious, but maybe i felt so becasue there was only about 7 people in the same capsule as me. If there were more than 10 people in the capsule, it would be a different case. So i would advise that you go during the non-peak hours.

The view from the top is magnificant, i must say. the more significant things you can see are the esplanade, floating platform, and the many hotels and buildings. Trust me, you'll be busy snapping photograph of the great view. The feeling is at the top is really great.

One thing to note is that the windows of the capsule i was in wasnt very clean, with yellowish stains on it. But that was the only down point.

However, for this, probably i'll only take another time to experience the night view. It's not something that i'll go for more than twice. The price of $30 - is considered rather reasonable for the ride though.

I would recommend everyone to go give it a try. =)

Having to pay $29.50 for a single adult ride on the Singapore flyer doesn't seem too worth it when you know that you'll be mainly seeing mechanical cranes from atop. But I was lucky to get a free ride that day since it's my sister's company's day. So why not?

I got to say that they were pretty efficient and the queue cleared pretty fast although there's a huge group of people. Security check has been imposed as the entrance where bags & people were scanned for dangerous items. We were then ushered to the "dummy capsule" for a quick snapshot before crossing a skybridge to the boarding area. So actually from the entrance to the boarding area, it's quite a long way before you can really get onto the flyer. Haha..

At the boarding platform, you have to wait for the capsule to arrive. One will have to hop onto the capsule while it moves continuously but slowly. No worries. There is a safety net in place just in case you fall but I think that's quite unlikely to happen.

The flyer rotates so slowly & steadily that one can hardly feel it so you can walk around in the capsule comfortably. We were lucky that we took the flyer on a sunny morning, so sky was clear and so was the view of the surrounding. However, the limited landscape present due to the numerous construction going on makes the view boring after like 10mins. Another 20mins to go before we could hit the ground.

Back to ground, and the exit led us to the souveneir shop which is also the same place where you can vew the photo taken before the ride. But $15 for each photo, I think it's too much to pay for.

I guess I'll only be back on the flyer when the surrounding construction completes. Otherwise, I doubt I'll be willing to pay a near $30 for it.

Different people had differing opinions regarding the opening of the Singapore Flyer. Some were excited, while some were skeptical.

Me? I belong the excited batch of citizens. :P

I've been longing to go up the Singapore Flyer since I heard of it, and I finally managed to go aboard the Flyer last Saturday!

It was quite crowded that day, since it was a weekend night, and the Flyer was just beautiful as its lighting changed from blue to pink to green etc.

Starting our journey on the Flyer, it was literally like boarding a plane in the airport. Just like Claudia mentioned, it was quite a long walk and u have to go through a security check. And then, it was photo-taking at a booth against a green background (hence, I think it's probably best not to wear green there!), where u would be superimposed in the picture like it was taken while u were in the capsule of the Singapore Flyer.

Then, it was time to make our way to board the Flyer!

We had to board it as the Flyer was moving, and found the capsule really cooling and spacious with 2 rows of benches inside. But..I spent the entire time walking around and admiring the beautiful night scene below. It was really beautiful. :)

However, the scenery was only nicer on the Esplanade side while the other side was a little bare and dark. Couldn't see much on that side actually..

When the ride ended after 30 mins, we hopped off the Flyer, only to go through a sloping path that felt just like we had just left the plane, to the counter to take a look at our superimposed pictures.

To be honest, the photos were not very well done. The cropping looked a little weird in some parts, but..since it was a memorable ride I purchased the picture for $15.

              After thoughts about the ride...

The admission fee was $29.50, which..I felt was a little expensive, but I thought the timing of the ride was quite ok. Probably because it was a whole new experience and it felt interesting then, so I didn't feel bored. x)

The staff and service was quite good though, as they all greeted u with smiles and nods, welcoming you into this whole new experience. :)

I would also most probably go on the Flyer again when the IR is completed, where the scenery would probably be whole and even more fabulous that it is now. :)
