       Salmon   Fish n Chips   Calamari
I really love Clarke Quay. Especially Cental Mall. But each time I wanna go check out the Fish n Chips @ Fishermens Wharf but I was alwayz too lazy to go schleping over to the other side.

Finally one Sunday, my fish cravings kicked in and it was between Fishermens Wharf and Manhattan Fish Market.

Took quite a while deciding which fish to choose but went with the plain ol Fish n Chips @ 6.50 and the Fried Salmon with Fries @ 12.50. Ordered a side of salad @ 4 and Calamari @ 10.50

Orders came pretty quickly since there were few customers and piping hot. Salmon was ok. Bit too cooked but eatable. Loved the crispy skin and the fact that the fish was not doused with salt or pepper. Went well with the garlic mayonaise sauce which I instantly fell in love with. Fries were a bit soggy actualli. Didnt really like it but the bf loved it.

Fish and Chips rocked!!I loved the light batter and the fresh and delicious fish. It was a huge portion and I was considering ordering one for takeaway. Chips were crunchy and not soggy.

Calamari was goooood. Hot and crispy, Batter was not too heavy and the calamari was not hard to chew. Yay. Glad i ordered it.

We left the place with full stomachs and big smiles. I will definitely return one day and maybe try out the other fishes.

And I love the salad. At 4 dollars, its really value for money as the portion is HUUUGE.

Check out the tartar sauce and the garlic mayonaise. You can differenciate the difference between the two sauces by smelling it. You can really smell the delish garlic. Oh so yummy.

Safari Feast   Chicken Pattie Melted   Seabass
The first time I came here, i switched to Fish and Co as I was quite frustrated with their "cannot change the sides to another side".

So when we came to the airport for dinner, we thought lets just give it a shot. No harm trying.

We were served by a pleasant malay waiter, Shafiq who was very patient taking our orders allowing us to change the pasta in my main to fries. We ordered the Safari Feast which consisted of the Bbq honey drumlets, calamari tails, prawn fritters and waffle fries. I had a craving for fish and orderd the Pan Seared Seabass served with Tabasco Butter Sauce and bf had the Chicken Pattie Melted.

However Shafiq came to inform us the fries were out of stock so we changed to the Sauteed potatoes. Food came in 10 minutes. And we tucked n. Salad was good, fresh vegetables. Safari Platter was acceptable. The sauce for the Drumlets was good. abit on the sweet side though. but I enjoyed it. I liked the calamari and prawn. Both were fresh and fried well.

I loved loved loved my fish. It was piping hot. Grilled well and the accompanying sauce was a fresh change. Though i couldnt really taste the tabasco.I liked the sauteed potato too. Boiled perfectly and lightly sauteed with pepper.
Bfs chicken pattie melted was not bad either. But i felt they could melt grated cheese on top of it instead of the cheddar cheese slices.
And i liked the sauce of the garlic mashed potato it came with. Can taste the garlic in the potato and the sauce too. yum.

Really have to commend both Shafiq and another waiter Shaikh for their good service. Shaikh came to check on us after a while and offered his services if we needed it. I really had an ejoyable time there. We got a 10% discount cos i had an NTUC card. SAFRA members get the discount too.

This is the day that changed my life. Ok it just converted me into the sashimi lover that I am.

Armed with the $100 voucher that i won from HGW(that seemed like such a long time ago), my dining partner and I trooped down on saturday for lunch. Ordering, we didnt even bother to look at the prices, Pretty much got whatever we thought looked good.

Salad-just veges with the wasabe soya sauce dressing
Sashimi-a mix of 7 different fishes
Unagi Agedashi Tofu-didnt really enjoy it actually. gravy was abit too thick and like cg mentioned in her review starchy
Chutoro Sushi-omg when i tasted it i was like wahlau. the chutoro totally melted in my mouth. i was totally savouring each and every bite.yummy
Soft shell crab tempura-nice. my favourite
        Teriyaki Salmon-Nice
Grilled lamb chop-love love love the fats. yummy
        Yakitori

I loved all the items we ordered. Left feeling full and very very satisfied. After the voucher it cost only 50 So very oh so worth it. At that time i did mention i wouldnt return as i definitely wont be able to afford the high prices. But i did return a few nights ago but this experience was a totally different one.

This time another fren had a 15% cupon so himself, another fren and i had dinner on friday nite.

        Items ordered
Sashimi - taken care of by our cupon provider(thanks man)..salmon and swordfish was alright. tuna looked scary but i didnt try it and i actually liked the octopus.
Pidan Tofu- Never really tried century egg before but to me the tofu was well tofu cant really gauge that
Gindara Nabe- Liked the soup and the fish was not bad either. Nice to drink the hot soup in that quite chilly environment
California Maki-didnt try it but from what i gathered it wasnt anything special
Special Maki-i did not notice the wasabe mayo and luckily i did not eat it with wasabe. Was having a wasabe freeze for a moment. but i did like it actually. especially the inner layer which seemed like it was breaded and fried
Mix Tempura and Eel Tempura-didnt really enjoy it that much. Just lacked a certain something. I actually preferred the eel tempura i ate at Hanabi and Mix tempura from Kuishin Bo(mayb i just have weird tastebuds)
        Yakitori-normal
        Hatsu(grilled chicken heart)-not bad actually
        Pork belly asparagus-didnt try this

I definitely enjoyed having dinner with my 2 buddies after not meeting up for quite some time. But the food was not really that fantastic. Maybe its just not my day or something. But well that being said, I wont be back. There are plenty of other Jap places im dying to try out..

Ok, so after my disaster during Valentines, coming here was very erm well risky. But im glad/not glad . I took that risk.

This time we ordered the stone grill items. I had ribeye and bf had the lamb rack. And as alwez, i sumhow alwez order the wrong thing. I was rubbish at cooking the meat and had to rely on him to do it for me. It tasted ok but like it wasnt marinated enuf. I dnt know but it didnt do it for me. Bfs lamb was nice. Succulent, void of that weird lamb taste and really good. especially the yummy fats.

I did love the salad and the mashed potato that came with it.
We also ordered sides of the seafood sampler and gratin.

And i think this is just for the experience. Food is nothing to shout about. The seafood was just too soggy due to the oil and fish was so totally fishy i mean eew. The gratin had too much butter or oil and looked weird. I prefer my AH gratin anytym..

I still like the concept esp the 2nd level though cannot eat the stonegrill items there due to the smoke.yeah prepare to smell after that.

since this was nearest to Goldhill and U.D.D.E.R.S me n fren decided to have dinner here.

The ala carte options are abit on the high side but sets are affordable. I got the salmon set and he got the tonkatsu set.

Both came with salad, this tofu and green bean thingy, rice, miso soup, chawanmushi. usually i would swipe his salad but he liked it so he polished it off. so did i. the tofu and green bean thingy was good too. liked the sauce. Chawanmushi was ok. They should add cheese to it ;)

Salmon was a bit too grilled though. was abit on the hard n flaky side and abit salty but still ok. eatable. And miso soup was good.

Service was great. The manager who i called to make reservations with actually knew it was me(m i the only malay gal who likes to go jap places). Waitresses were keen to serve and seem to either be Japanese or Chinese. Not really fluent in english but they really do try. And one was so cute. Another waitress served me n my fren each others drinks and another actually came to correct it..it happens at most places and its nice that the waitress who took our orders actually made an effort to correct it.

Love the decor too. really like those village jap homes.
            Will definitely be back soon.

Had 30% off thanks to a cupon
