Tried this when we went for movie at iluma. As I've heard that its 100% fat free and suitable for lactose intolerant people. I'm lactose intolerant though not very serious, I still get diarroeas when I take milk items. In any case, the bright and cute small store at illuma caught our eyes when we came out of a restaurant after having an unsatisfying lunch.
The number of types of toppings really amazed me. Toppings like pormegranate, nata de coco, pomelo and the various cereals which are not common in yogurt houses. Toppings were fresh and the yogurt soft, a tinee bit too strong of the "cultured" taste for me but besides that, its quite a great choice if you would like something different and light after meals.
If you work near iluma, its even better as you get to taste different flavours of yogurt everyday, take fruits and healthy cultures~
This is a place where we certainly won't visit again. We decided to enter this restaurant as we have never tried it before and all the other restaurants had long queue at the door. Food focusing on fig & olives is of course not common.
We ordered Crisscut fries, Grilled Dory with Mushroom sauce, Figo Grilled Seafood (or seafood platter for 1). the mushroom sauce (note: the sauce only) and the crisscut fries were at least decent to taste though we have some reservations on the taste of the rice. Even though this place was called fig&olives, the olive rice was nothing much but spiced/buttered rice with a few pickled olives on top with not much of a taste too. The fish were cooked too oily though the texture was tender and well done.
The seafood platter for 1 cost a whopping $21.30 and contained only 4 prawns and 3 mussels with a whole heap of rice. Certainly not worth the price. Not to mention that the waiters there took the wrong order, failed to respond to our calls and proceeded to bill us for the wrong order. They were certainly in a hurry and is only able to refill the plain water for whichever cup we gestured to even though all the rest of the cups beside it were empty too.
I repeat again, definitely not worth a visit again. At least not this branch.
One of the Kbox outlets with good services. Rooms (at least the few I've been in) are relatively clean and in good condition. We were usually urshered into rooms with ample space for us to move around and took photos just that the TV screen was ridiculously close to us such that we can be blinded when MTVs changes.
The few times I've been there, there were quite a few pple walking around and smoking. Thats irritating but it should not affect the review on this outlet.
List of songs as usual, awesome, of wide variety and quite easy to find the song we wanted. However they should really change the colour of the words. Had to scrint to decipher.
Patronised this store for like twice, I quite like the setting though the deco is something similar to Ben & Jerry. The cheerful fonts and pictures makes eatting ice cream even more enjoyable.
The first thing that striked me was the number of pretty shop assistants there. I wonder whether there was a criteria for looks when they interview shop assistants.
The shop front was quite small and cramp. Luckily the tables and chairs were not in the shop itself but outside.
There are consonier and premium (alcoholic) like Bitter Orange Choc, Whiskey Java Choc, Rum Rum Raisin etc. And normal flavours like Green tea-rrific, D24 durian etc.
Though there are many flavours stated on the website but the number of flavours seems to be lesser at this branch. In any case, we tried the Marsh Choc and Bitter Orange Choc. Marsh Choc was obviously Marshmellow in Chocolate. Heavenly but sinful combination that cannot be eaten every day. It got us drooling for it though. Bitter Orange Choc was an interesting liquer flavour which did not have the irritating alcoholic smell. The taste of orange was nicely blended with the dark chocolate (hmm~~~~) ice cream the first time I tried it. But somehow, the taste of orange lessened on the 2nd try the next day. Taste of dark chocolate became too strong and the smell of liquer increased. I wonder what happened though this does not diminished my liking for it. Both flavours are silkenly smooth~~~
I would like to try the Durian series the next time. But I wouldn't normally sit there to eat as I prefer buying the pint home. A pint cost $10.90 for the premium series and lesser for the normal (I forgot how much) series. A bit ex for frequent indulgence and it won't do much good for the waist too.
We decide to go into this shop as we were quite tired of going to the same places to eat since we needed to go Plaza Sing at least once per week. Only with time for a quick lunch, we chose this place mainly because it has got dim sum which we can gobble at a fast pace.
Not much of comment on the setting except that its rather dark. We very much regretted chosing this place due to the quality of the food. I will choose Crystal Jade anytime. We ordered Ha Gao, Glutinous Chicken, Yu Jiao and Prawn Zhu Chang Fen. We were extremely disappointed at the oily and lame texture of the Yu jiao where the yam paste will fall out and the skin seems like it was placed outside for too long. The prawns in the Zhu Chang Fen and Ha Gao had a distinctive prawny smell that told us the prawns were not fresh.
Not sure whether it was due to the lunch time rush but we certainly didn't feel like going back for 2nd opinion after our lunch there.
Although this was named as Astons Express
but apparently was not very express as we often had to wait
like 20 mins for our food. Meaning other colleagues who have
started eating before us would have finished their food and
sat there waiting for us before we start on ours. Hence usually we would order together if we want to eat Astons so that none have to wait. Still it eats into our time and reduced the time we would usually use for coffee elsewhere.
Food was not bad, I've tried the Grilled fish with herbs or something.
Fish was tender with no strange smell, the herb sauce was great too,
compliments the fish meat and made it sweet. However it looks a bit
lame on a damn big plate. Perhaps due to the light colour of the meat and sauce.
The baked potato is a must try even if you are ordering as
a side dish though many may dislike the flaky texture but the potato taste
great~ (suspect they may have added something to add to the taste
but I'm not sure what)
A nice change from the normal food court food. Good to try once in a
while but do get a seat before ordering as they want table no.
Went there for a facial promotion of $22 facial $8 for eye mask. Thought their service is not EXCELLENT but I found it to be not bad. Perhaps I was lucky and gotten the therapist whom was good? The therapist did ask me whether I wanted to add a $20 ampoule for collagen but when I said no, she did not push for me to buy. Touch was light and soothing, when I didn't want to talk, she didn't try to act friendly like a lot of therapist would.
We were urshered to this room where the manager asked whether we would be interested in their facial packages. But when I mentioned I have packages elsewhere, she did not push more and instead introduced a promotional slimming package and offered to customize it for us.
Though in the end my friend and I signed for the package, we did not felt that we were forced into it. Perhaps it was due to previous cases hence the service improved? In anyway, we just went for our first treatment yesterday and although my friend did not like her therapist who was from China and lack experience, mine was great but did try to act friendly with me.
All in all, the service was not too bad, the atmosphere was great and space not crammed like some other facials I went to.
Went to this place for lunch before going for a performance. Being a dessert lover, was attracted here by the replicas of the desserts outside the store. This place is noisy, being an enclosed area and people around talking loudly and a constant flow of customers.
I ordered Beef Stew and Ichigo Milk Parfait. While my friends ordered the Beef curry rice and some mushroom pasta which I forgot the name.
Soup base for the beef stew was tomato which was too sour for my liking. Though I will give a thumbs up for the beefy taste of the beef and its great texture. Other ingredients in the bowl are brocoli and carrots cooked just right to retain some crunchiness. I did not finish my bowl of pasta though, as the portion of pasta was too large with comparatively small portion of other ingredients.
Beef curry was too sweet and taste just like any other curried rice. Nothing special.
I did try some of the soup for the clear mushroom base pasta. Salty was the word and nothing else to it. Though the portion was upsized, it doesn't look like much cept for the taller bowl that made eating difficult.
Ichigo Milk Parfait saved the day with the Milky ice cream not too sweet, creamily smooth (yum yum~~) and blended well with the sweet ichigo lined on top. However, the pool of ichigo sauce at the bottom of the cup spoils a little for me as the concentration was too sweet to eat with the cornflakes. Without this, this dessert would be perfect~
Service of the restaurant was not so desired though. The male service crew kept appearing behind me (towered over me) though he could have stood at the side of our table and we could hear him well (vice versa). Got a shocked from him on several occasions plus the fact I was wearing a dress with low V cutting added to the annoyance.
Nevertheless, menu was quite extensive and we were spoiled for choices. Will definitely visit again to try its other kinds of pasta and of course the ichigo milk parfait ;D
This restaurant is attached to the Party World KTV at Shenton way. Though been to the KTV for many times, this is the first time We went to this restaurant for dinner. Went with a group of girlfriends for Hen's Party.
There were very few customers there. Inclusive of us, there were only 3 tables of customers.
If you want cheap food in big portions, this is the right place to come to. Food types are a mixture of Western food (e.g steak, fish, chicken cutlet), Chinese (e.g Stir Fried Vege, Tzu2 Cha4) and Malay (e.g Fish head curry). Purchase the set meal to get also, salad, soup, drink and dessert. Soup and dessert are free flow. The set I ordered was steak and it only cost me approx $14 .
Wanted the steak to be well done and it came as well done, with the meat not too tough and enough of the "beefy" taste that I would like my steak to have. Salad was fresh though it seems a bit strange to have Watercress soup with steak. Taste of the soup I've heard, was great. So great that my friend had 3 helpings of it.
The place look a bit sleazy since it was attached with the KTV but nevertheless, a great place to have a quiet dinner with friends (unless you're down on your luck and met people having a Hen's Party there) at budget cost.
Went to this restaurant for the first time due to a friend's craving for its “梦幻黑猪”... we went in quite late as it was after a performance at about 930pm and the last order was at 10pm. The restaurant was still quite crowded then. We were urshered to an almost empty area.
Space usage was quite poor as the place was quite cramped. 5 mins from sitting down, we changed places as the aircon was leaking water. No black face from the waitor though no smiles too.
We were not rushed into making up our mind even though its only like 20 mins left to closing the till. I ordered this Hakodate Shio Ramen and was extremely satisfied by it. The shio soup base was unique, not too heavy nor too light. Blended well with the saltish meat. However, the meat will be too salty to be tasted alone though those who love heavier taste would love it.
Also ordered the Edamame which came hot and covered with shio. Tasted wonderful though the salt proved to be too much when we came to the bottom of the bowl.
My husband ordered Beef Curry Rice. Contrary to other places' curry, we could taste beef in the curry itself. Meaning they either used beef stock as one of the ingredients or cooked the beef in the curry. I would like to order that the next time I'm there.
Overall, we were quite satisfied with our meal there. But it could be because we were all famished from having no dinner and a tiring performance and rehearsals. Should definitely visit there again as there are more to be tried out.
