Tried this when our company's vendor bought us some for the new year. Heard many great comments about this. Shape of the puff is totally different from those normal ones.
Skin is crispy and flaky and the taste is above average. But in terms of easy eating, its below average. So ladies perhaps should eat this when image is not priority lolx.
Had the curry potato filling. Texture is just right for the crispiness of the puff. The taste of the filing is definitely way above those normal ones selling.
However, the puffs should be eaten fresh. We put one or two of them in the box for like half the day and the skin becomes very oily. However, this is not a very serious problem for curry puffs.
I bought my pinky camera here. I was quite happy with the service quality at this outlet. The person who served me took time to explain the difference between the 2 cameras I was wondering over.
Even though the time was closed to "close shop", the person did not hurry me to make a decision or to pay. He even asked me to look around the shop for any more things I would want to buy for discounts if I apply for the member card.
As I don't usually patron Challenger or even get expensive gadgets and etc, I didn't apply for the member card. The person who served me did not show any displeasure.
But the shop is usually filled with people and quite difficult to walk around. Its an advantage that they organized their stuffs well as its easy to find what you want. Having little deco and making the place brightly lit helps too.
Found this online store specializing in wines via emall.sg I had to buy red wine for my wedding dinner as the number of tables did not qualify for free flow of alcohol.
Thewineroute is very well organized and allows viewers to view their selection via country of origin, budget, type of wine, ratings and winery. They also have a category of wedding selections.
Details of the taste and ingredients of the wine are included. As well as the type of caps the bottles have and any ratings of the wine and the type of wine (e.g rose, sparkling)
I bought a dozen bottles of Gato Negro Merlot 2006 for my wedding. 2 days before my wedding, the person called from thewineroute and asked whether they can substitute what I bought with another batch of wine of a different and better make. The batch just arrived and is $1 more costly than the ones I bought but they are willing to waive the extra cost. He explained to me that its because the exchange would help them save the transportation cost. I was happy with the honesty and that they bothered to ask for my permission so I agreed.
The verdicts from my guests were great. Some even asked me for the source I bought from.
I bought over the internet using Visa but thewineroute offers orders by fax or email in case people are not willing to buy over the internet.
On the hold, this shop is highly recommended. I had a smooth and happy transaction with them.
Unlike "feizhu", I went there the first time for a wedding dinner recently. As I went in I was like quite in awe of the place as the deco look so grand and definitely suitable for a chinese wedding dinner.
But as we sat down and had a good look, there were some points that are definitely a no-no for a wedding dinner.
Firstly, the TV (TV!!!) screen was damn small. Really really very small I think some sort like a 19 inch plasma TV although there were many screens there but what the toot can the guests see of the bridal photos or videos??? And the restaurant showed 9pm Channel 8 shows while the groom was still talking on stage!
2nd, there were 2 entrances and my husband and I went in by the back door. Well, who told them to hide the main entrance at the back of the car park???
3rd, the walk in for the couple was too short. The couple reached the stage and were immediately blocked by the pillar with its TV screen which was somewhere in front of the stage. (sweatz)
4th, there wasn't any dry ice or spot light for the couple's walk in. Half the guests didn't know where to look for the couple until the couple was half way through the walk. My table was near the walk in area other wise we won't know as well.
Ok, never mind, lets talk about the food. There's no dim sum at the dinner so I'm not sure how nice they are. But the dinner menu dishes were really not very nice. Cold plate came... well... cold and dry. Nothing really special though it does look nice. Other dishes like chicken which was dry, vegetables which was salty. Only the Oatmeal Prawns, Sharks fin soup and Steamed Fish tasted great and fresh. I guess should be so since the restaurant was displaying live fish there. In the end we did not finish the main dishes. Dessert was red bean which we felt was too thick.
Service was ok. Depends on your luck. We were served by 2 persons, one was friendly and fast. The other insisted we only take 2 cubes of ice for our drinks and the ice only came after 3 or 4 requests.
Definitely not recommended for a wedding dinner if you want your wedding to be enjoyed by your guests.
I used the senstive skin range of products for this brand and its the nightmare of my life.
The first day I used this product, my skin itch and small red rashes broke out. I thought nothing much of it as its usual that my sensitive skin will react to new products. So I continued the use for 2 weeks and my skin itch and rashed every single usage of the products. By and by it leads to me having super dry and sensitive skin. My skin starts to flake and scarring occurs.
So I stopped the usage and returned to using Dermalogical products and my skin goes back to normal although its already scarred and the sensitiveness increased.
This outlet is the first time I've tried Batok Jones. Heard alot of good comments about it and maybe we got our expectations too high.
Set in a hawker centre, the environment is dirty and due to the crowd there, we sat near the dustbin which made it even worse. Menu looks too cluttered and we took some time to order our food. Customers for that outlet of Botak Jones seems to be few at that time of the day and that time is certainly not a good time for eating heavy western food in great or should I say humongous portion.
Not much of an impression of the food there though I should give credit as the Fish and Chips was nicely done. I found the sausage too salty though and nothing special except its size. Meat seems to be the better prepared type of food there.
Not too bad but nothing special too. Given my small appetite, I don't think that will be the place I will frequent as even though the price is value for the portion size, its still expensive if I cannot finish the food.
Bought a few times here. Sells a lot of "Nu Ren Wo Zui Da" recommended products as well as make-up/skin care items from Taiwan and Japan. Gives photos and detailed descriptions (mostly in both English and Chinese). The blog owner responses fast to email inquiries and orders. A person who is good to talk to and is able to give recommendations to your needs. Items are well tagged and organized so that even though its in blogshop style, you will not have trouble looking for what you wanted unless you just want to browse.
Have in-stocks as well as pre-order items.
Charges ($3) for meet-ups though except for meet-ups at Woodlands. Provides only 4 places for meet-ups and only if you purchase 4 items and above. This is understandable as the person is working other than on her blogshop. Also, she clearly states that in the blog.
Items are in original packaging and its stated in the blog that free samples are given for every purchases and true to her words, I do receive free samples every time.
Haven't been to this branch ever since it opened. We've only patronized its branch at JB City Sq. First impression, the place is clean and bright. 2nd, the serving crew doesn't have much expressions. 3rd, the environment is great for a lazy afternoon outing with a few friends.
Ordered: Lime/Lemon Ginger fizzy drink, chocolate drink, mixed grill set, Spaghetti with Portuguese cheese sauce and mini chicken ham sausage. Total: $58
Food tasted better than the JB branch and in greater portion. However, the color of the dishes doesn't look that great. I've tried the beef portion of the mixed grill and its a tad too salty. We love the chicken sausage dish and the lime/lemon ginger drink.
Bought Threadless T-shirts! I normally don't wear T-shirts as I think its uncomfortable. But since there was a sale at Threadless and I found a real cute design for the print~ I decided to get 2 T-shirts. 1 for me and another for my husband.
Process of the purchase is quite fast and smooth. the only glitch was, they are unable to accept other payment forms cept credit cards. Will be easier if they accept paypal (they deemed paypal as not secure enough). Also, 1 week after the confirmation of the order, I was unable to check the status of the order even if I keyed in the order number. Had to give my credit card details to find the order status.
Items came in 3 weeks firmly packed via courier I forgot it was UPS or what. Also came with some real cute stickers as shown in the pictures.
First thing we did when we received the clothes, we wash the clothes by first submerging it in a pail of water. As expected, the color ran. That is understandable due to the color of the T-shirts.
Wore it today and walked 10 mins to the MRT station. Feels cooler to wear it compared to other T-shirts. Comfy and cooling material and doesn't make my sensitive skin itch. Even my husband who doesn't like round neck Tees finds it comfortable and great to wear.
My friends and I simply loved to try out food and desserts. For me, desserts stands for most of it. So when I saw this link for ePosh, I just click on it out of curiosity. My first impression, the website is difficult to navigate in with its black background and brightly colored words and the extremely small words.
Nevertheless, what is a website if it serves good desserts. So we went especially from the West to Dhoby Ghaut just to get a taste of the desserts. To our dismay, the shop is just a shop front. There were no seats but just a counter sort of like Famous Amos or bubble tea. There were not much cookies left, just maybe one or two cakes at the counter and of course, brownies.
The serve crew (polite and good service quality) at the counter gave us some brownie base to try. To me, its too sweet though the texture sure is better than a lot of other brownies I've eaten. Chewy and not dry. They currently have 10 flavors out of which, we bought Jelly Peanut butter, White Choc, Triple Choc, Mashmellows, Choc butter. They also have chilli choc which I found rather special but I didn't try as I don't eat chilli.
On first taste, their brownies are definitely unique and tasted above average. But as we try on, we felt thats all there is. There is no "oopmh" of tasting a great dessert and as all the brownie bases are the same, the only difference is its blend with the toppings.
If you really want me to say, I'll recommend white choc and Mashmellow (toasted). But frankly, it would be better if there are seats in the shops for patrons to sit in, not just 2 chairs in front of the shop. Desserts especially brownies, cakes and cookies taste best eaten fresh no matter whether they can be left outside for 3 days without refrigeration.
Price is still ok, going at $3 per piece of brownie. Currently they have a promotion of 5 pieces at $13. Great as a gift as it comes in the beautiful and posh box and paper bag in the pictures.
