Tried the high-tea buffet for the second time and there was price increment from my last visit.

the student buffet now cost 15.90 , up from the 13.90 . After GST and service charge, it is about $18-$19.

The high-tea buffet includes unlimited sushi on the conveyor belt, side dishes found on the menu like fried tofu, sashimi, tako yaki, chawa mushi, teriyaki chicken, bacon with enoki mushroom, jellyfish, octopus, scallop sides, handrolls with flavours ranging from unagi, california, soft shell crab.

For dessert, there is only ice cream with wafer available.

As for drinks, there is free flow of cold drinks like green tea, blackcurrent juice, soft drinks. For hot drinks, there are hot green tea etc.

The sushis tasted stale probably because they are not particularly fresh but the sides were ok.

High-tea buffet is from 2.30pm - 5.30pm on weekdays and they are also not available on eve and public holidays that fall on weekdays.

Went over to the newly opened just acia for our lunch gathering.

It was really value for money because a fried dory fish set only cost $5.90 and it comes with free flow of ice-cream and drinks. The fish set came with miso soup, kimchi and a bowl of rice.

This place offers affordable jap/korean/asia food though the food was average only. Well, you pay what you get!

The free flow of drinks and ice cream were good especially if you are intending to just sit there and chill with some friends. Drinks include pepsi, pepsi light, iced peach tea, lime juice, root beer, 7-up and arrays of coffee.

If you are looking for a place for class gatherings, this is the place!

After school, a few of us went over to Aston for a quick fix. To prevent ourselves from getting caught in the long queue, we went to Aston at 5pm for dinner instead.

Had the grilled fish that cost around $7 (can't remember the exact price) and it came with two side dish as well. The side dish choices are classified into two categories, one is the cold sides like potato salad, another is the hot sides which are barbequed baked beans, onion rings, fries as well as the buttered rice.

The dishes took more than 15mins to come and another downside was that the plain water are not complimentary.

The damage for three person is around $27.

True enough, when we made our exit, we were greeted by the long queues. If you want to have a meal here, do come early to avoid the queue!

          Meal at Ikea was great!!

The price is right and the food portions were not bad.

Tried the Fish with chives sauce as well as the Swedish Meatballs.

I quite like the idea of us queueing up with trays and getting the food like immediately, and then settle off for payment. The fuss-free way of getting food when you are hungry.

The fish with chives sauce was basically fried fish, topped with chives sauce and comes with a portion of fries. On the first few mouthful, it tasted good. But if you are a slow eater, you probably won't like this dish because after some time, everything on the plate will turn soggy because of the amount of chives sauce given and the dish would turn quite disgusting.

The swedish meatballs are nice! comes with boiled potato and fruit jam and the v v nice sauce that really complements the meatballs.

Not a bad dining place and there are no service charge. Affordable meal with large portions.

            5. Sizzler (Suntec)

Sizzler was not a bad experience.

Went there with 19 other people for celebration and the place wasn't crowded even though it was dinner time. (We make up like 1/2 of their diners)

Food wasn't cheap and it was an average of $28 for a main course that comes with free flow at salad bar. The food came slow probbaly because there are so many of us. But it doesn't matter that the food was slow since we could start eating at the salad bar first.

The salad bar has a wide array of salads, like potato salads etc. They had all the different kinds of veggies, dressings etc (the taste was just normal though).

At the corner of the salad bar was my favourite corner!! The soft serve ice cream! Similar to the soft serve machine of Macdonalds, just that they had three flavours instead, namely the chocolate, vanilla and the combination of both. It was more hygenic than ice cream served at usual buffets since the ice cream cannot be contaminated given that the ice cream will only come out when you press the machine. They also provide toppings like chocolate chips and peanuts. The sauces like caramel, chocolate sauce didn't look clean to me because I could see the peanut choppings floating on top of the sauce the moment I lifted the tray.

The soup at the salad bar was clam chowder and tom yum. I tried the clam chowder one and it basically tasted the same like those canned soup.

My food came eventually. It was Grilled chicken and tempura prawn. The grilled chicken was rather oily but the taste was good.

Service was not bad and they constantly refilled our water and also cleared our plates at the right time. Ambience was not bad as well. The only bad thing was, most of us had a hard time navigating and trying to find this place.

Not a bad place if you are willing to splurge!
