The Centr@l Mall is a new shopping mall and not every shop is ready for business just yet. In my opinion, its not quite a mall for shoppers who wants to shop around and just enjoy a shopping experience kind of place.

However if you're looking for good food, that's one place you can try. Many nice places to eat at the "backside" or "otherside" of the mall, which is pretty hidden to me and my friend when we were there the first time. I only discovered them the second time I was there. Maybe due to the design of the building structure. At once glance, from the entrance via the bus-stop/mrt station, the mall seems pretty sad. (You'll see only a few shops , the rest are kind of "hidden" at the back of these front shops.)

One shop which I thought was worth mentioning here will be Gobi. Their cute little cakes aka chocolates are the perfect gift for the sweet tooth girlfriend. They can be located at Level 1, opp Starbucks. (Web: http://www.gobi.com.sg/)

If you are around Plaza Singapura and need a place to rest, chill, chat, have a drink, have a snack or food, go to the "hidden" cafe inside Made With Love, at level 3, next to OP.

They have lots of yummy food which I love! The photo attached is my latest fav - Spud with Sausages. This also comes with vegeterian diet version, which I saw Elaine eating it the other day I was there. Looks very yummy too! However, this yummy spud will only last for an hour or so and than you'll be hungry again. (This is what Malee, the cafe guy, will tell you too if you ask him.) Or if you can't take this or wants abit more of that, just let him know! He'll surely cook up something that will suit your unique taste! The cafe people never fails to perk one up with their food.

Another one that you can't miss is their Roast Chicken Ciabatta served with chips. This one will sure fill one hungry tummy and last for at least 4 hours or more. Healthy (beside the chips) and yummy!

There's also this very colorful decorated chocolate cake, Pari Pari or for some who call it the "Fairies Cupcake". I've yet tried it myself, but it sure looks sinfully delicious! When heated nicely, its one cake that chocolate lovers cannot miss!

If my review aren't enough to wet your appetite, ask Malee! (At table scraps of course!)

I loveee going to Ikea ever since like 10 years ago when I moved to my current home at Sengkang. I was super excited when they opened at Tampines! (Just a 5 mins drive from my place!)

I go there pretty often nowadays just to grab a bite. I love their Fresh Water Shrimp. Cheap and fresh. And on Tuesdays or Wednesday, their Fish & Chips (sometimes with Sambal chilli) is my favourite too!

I know many recommended their Meatballs, but I've never tried it. Last time cause I don't eat beef, but now when I start eating beef, I can't eat pork. So never am I going to try their famous meatballs. (Maybe one day they will change to all beef or combine beef and chicken?)

Oh ya! Their chicken wings! How can I forget! Juicy and yummmmmy!! I know its unhealthy and fattening, but how can I resists??

No where to go, go Ikea Tampines! Best part is, parking is free!!

Chanced upon this tiny cosy cafe at the basement of Century Square when I was there with my mum last week. Since mum is currently on a healthy diet, we decided to give this organic cafe a try.

Can't remember the actual name of the dish but its grilled cod fillet with brown rice. (Not on the main menu. Its a $9.90 promotion menu or something.) But just look for it lah! Cause its super yummy! I'm not a fish person (that's why I ordered the spicy beef spaghetti which was also very good) but I enjoyed eating my mum's dish!

Another must try is their yogurt. They've many toppings to choose from, we had the mango one. Nice.

If I'm not wrong, they also have an outlet at Velocity.

Something different from the usual Swensen's outlet. Earle serves a finer menu and yet have their famous sundaes and fish and chips.

Went to Earle at Vivo almost everytime we were there for dinner. What we enjoyed most is the salad bar that comes with all main course order. Not alot of variety but enough to make you want to have more than just one serving.

If you're there with a friend, try their Cioppino. Yummy sauce and fresh crayfish. Sure to fill 2 hungry tummies. If you're not into sharing, and can't decide whether to take the chicken or the seafood, give Surf & Turf a try. Chicken breast meat, fresh prawn and fresh crayfish grilled to perfection! The thought of it now just make me want to have it now!

So if you're down at Vivo and don't know where to makan, try Earle Swensen's.

    Updated 23 September 2007
I returned today with a few yebbers for lunch. After reading their menu for 30mins (while waiting), I decided to try their lobster. There were 2 options, the grilled or the baked. When I saw my order, I was rather upset and thought I should have taken the baked lobster instead. The lobster looked white and there's no sign of grilling done. Tasted it and ya, definetly not grilled. Or maybe they did for like 5 seconds? It's more boiled than grilled.

This time round, the quality of the food dropped. Wasn't just my own opinion, but the others there with me also mentioned that the food isn't good. Quite disappointed with my visit this time round. Might give this place a miss the next time I'm at Vivo. Hence, I'm re-rating Earle Swnsen's.

Great place to check out on Sundays. This Flea Market has been around for many years. (It was previously at Clarke Quay if I'm not wrong.)

    What you'll find there?
Collectors items, Toys, Vintage stuff, Second-hand stuff, Fashion accessories, bags and many many interesting finds.

Do give this place a go if you've got no where to shop on Sunday.

Nearest MRT station: Chinatown or Raffles Place

    Updated 7 September 2008
I was back again recently and took a video of what you will usually find at China Square Central Flea Market.

This is THE place to get all your scrapbooking and paper supplies! They have the largest collection of materials such as pattern papers, tools and embellishments. The largest scrapbooking store in Asia I think.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Always willing to give a helping hand. For mummys out there, they can help look after your kids while you shop too! (Well, this one depends on the crowd lah. If its very busy day, try to understand.)

They have very cool workshops too! Learn to scrapbook and create pretty handmade albums and cards.

If you're around Plaza Singapura, check out their store!

Last thursday while i was rushing for an emergency pee pee while walking from raffles hotel to raffles city shopping center i came across a very interesting shop. Its not a shop actually, its a push cart... All i remembered was i glanced at a nice big brown bag that seemed leather to me from afar before i disappeared into the alley in search of the ladies.

Next i knew, i was already browsing at the nice bags, mostly leather i think. According to the lady it is low quality calf leather. The bags felt really soft and the designs were great. Looking around i saw there bags of different shapes, sizes and designs. What even better.. its having a STORE WIDE 50% discount. My favourite was a huge Deep Brown leather bag. Simple in design but very chic i felt. The lady at the cart is really nice, showing me the different models she had, designs and usages, even modelling to me the bags. I loved them all, had so much choices i just couldn't decide. At last i decided on a dark green smaller version of the one i saw and till today i still couldn't forget the one that mesmerized me..

There were bags for every occasion mostly casual and rugged in look. If you like perhap a elegant chic look when fitted with tight riding pants and white shirt.... According to the lady, they only manufacture a few pieces and so go grab the ones you like soon before they run out of stock.... all thumbs n many toes up.....

I marked my 25th birthday resolution with a DARE for myself. I think that it is pretty memorable to be a quarter century old and for this. i am going to do something that i feel, takes alot of courage. I am going to take my class 2B licence, aka learn to ride a motorbike. I have never been on a bike before until when i was 22 and boy... it was really thrilling and so. i make it a point to enrol myself for this course.

Being a non-bike orientated person, everything seemed net to me and so, i started surfing the new and came across HKL Racing. I went down to their Shop and to my amazement, they have 3 outles in the same area. The shops displayed vast arrays of various models of bikes, peripherals, parts and accessories. I was so amazed..... but i try to keep myself in focus. I wanted to buy a nice helmet, and so i approached a busy looking technician whom kindly referred me to a friendly female staff, pretty young and bubbly i should say. They brought me up to their other showroom with all the peripherals. There all sorts of helmets, for scramblers, racing bikes, for choppers, for vespa scooters, full faced, half faced with all sorts of finishings like leather, patented material and etc etc etc. The prices were pretty reasonable and there are also special limited edition items.

There are specially designed n padded riding vest, gloves and suits for purchase also. Being a newbie i settled for a $50 helmet in white, nicely cushioned and detachable cushions for hygiene issues. I am now ready for my first lesson in riding. They even have a website for you to view their huge product range.

For the vast array and plentiful choices with reasonable prices, i give it 2 thumbs up... Can you lend me 2 thumb, that will be 4 thumbs...... Why i have only 2 thumbs???
