The restaurant is located in Katong Village at the 2nd storey. The 1st storey is a Japanese restaurant. Park charges at katong village is $4.50/entry on weekend and you can get a $2 refund ticket from the counter if you start your meal after 6pm. Alternatively you can park at Katong mall beside it for $2.05/entry.

Our while family went there last saturday for a dinner gathering. The place was not hard to find, bright signage when you stand directly infront of the carpark entrance but there is only a staircase to the 2nd storey so it may be inconvience for the elderly.

They are using electric to heat up the hot plates for the food. For meat choices there are alot to choose from, chicken, pork, beef and fish. And each type of meat they have the marinated type or plain cuts like porkbelly (thin/thick slices). I counted at least 12 types of choices there. For vegetable, you can get white mushroom, potatoe slices, onions, green chilli, brinjal which i suppose to be the sides for the meat.

You are supposed to cook the meat, scissors provide for the thicker slices of pork belly, wrap them in fresh lettuces leaves and raw garlic slices and eat. Somehow I was not used to the combination of fresh lettuces and cooked meat together so I just eat in like normal buffet style, meat without the lettuces. There are also rice if you want.

The side dishes are plenty. There are hot cooked food like curry potatoes, rice-cakes in gravy, miso soup with fresh seaweed leaves. Cold dish like mayo macoronic, apple veg salad, fresh purple lettuces shreds, and raw beef salad if you dare to try it. Somehow the beef salad runs empty pretty fast. There are also kimchi, and other korean cold dishes that I couldnt remember.

Cold water is free and a can of soft drink would cost you $2.80. The surrounding was quite cosy and not noisy even though it was packed. Quite surprising we did not smell of BBQ and foodcourt smell once we are outside, as there are exhuast ducts above the cooking area which I suppose it helps.

We pay $33 inc. of GST and service charge. For once the service was worth it as the staff keeps clearing our plate for us and cleaning the hotplate once they noticed that it is staining with hard custs.

We will definately go back again.

This NTUC is just opposite my work place. I often drop by after my lunch to cool down/enjoy aircon and do some shopping.

I found that the items are limited here maybe due to space limit. For example, their tibits/snacks section is quite small and they do not have the newest favour in stock. They do have a small area for electrical stuff but are very limited (electrical rice cooker, water heater & hair dryer)

Their services are quite fast and so far I had no complaints except for the limited choice of stuff

I used to go jurong swimming complex for their wave pool and jaccuzic usage until I got a membership at Safra.

I enjoy sitting at the outer edge of the wave pool where the water level comes up to my kneecap when sitting down, and lean back to relax while the waves rock you back n forward. When I feel like total relaxation, I will borrow a float and go deeper in and hang in the centre of the float while my whole body is submerge and rocked around in the water.

The jaccuzic is relaxing but sometimes I cannot get any seat at all due to whole family crowding around in the pool n chatting there.

Parents can also bring their kids to play at the kids or playground area as long as they are wearing some form of swimwear. It is like a smaller version of Malaysia's Sunway Lagoon. There are 3 different heights for the slides which children & adults can chose to slide down from with a float.

Once in a while I will use their normal pool for my laps if it is not too crowded. Another thing I like is the KFC in the complex. You can come up for a drink or some food if you are tired/hungry and continue later.

The toilets/changing rooms are at the entrance of the complex and slight inconvenience if you need to use the toilet. Overall I think it is a great place to come with your family to enjoy a day together.

This laska stall is in the coffee shop inside the shopping mall opposite my workplace.

There is always a long waiting time for his laska so if you are in a hurry, do not order this. At least 20 mins wait time during lunch time.

You can choose the yellow mee, thick bee hoon or the thinner beehoon for your laska. The laska comes with fish slices, some chicken shreds, 1 or 2 prawns and fresh cockles. If you do not take cockles like me, just inform him and he will add in more chicken shreds and prawns for you. The uncle will always ask you whether you want chilli paste or not.

It is best to go before lunch time as sometimes after lunch hours, his gravy taste a bit diluted and the ingredients are not as much due to finished stock. Sometimes I get all chicken shreds and 1 prawn in the laska.

Overall, i would recommend it as in a claypot the laska is always kept warm until you finish it and the gravy is thick and spicy. I always finish the laska gravy, despite health concern.

samples   wide range of chocolate   Irish coffee   c1.jpg
My hubby wanted to try out the chocolates at this shop as he was told by his colleagues they taste very good and are of high quality (maybe becos of the cost..all the chocolates cost $17/100gm !)

This shop was somewhere at katong area near the Churh of the Holy Family and you could easily missed it as the shop was sharing space with another shop.

The shop owner, in his twenties, let us try out a few samples. I tried the mango yoghurt which is made of white chocolate outer layer with mango and yoghurt fillings, and the banana split with peanut butter and banana filling.

My hubby tried the Irish coffee which taste strongly of coffee liquer and with a golden outer layer on white chocolate.

There are a few others which taste surprising rich and of strong chocolate taste. The sweetness is just nice and not overpowering.

In the end, though it was $17/100gm for the chocolate, we purchased quite alot to give to our family and ourself to slowly savor the favour..

Btw, it is also a cafe where you can sit down and relax with your friends over a cup of coffee/tea.
