If life is about love, I want a day with you alone.
Together, we dine and feast, with merry and joy.
Bliss is the paradise, and blissful is the pleasure.

We sit by the waterfront; calm and serene.
Time stand still at that moment, we are cut out from the world.
So this is it; the feeling of bliss.

Even though you might not agree with me, I firmly believe that ambience and company is more important than food. A simple illustration, will you enjoy good food while you are dining with a person you do not like, or will ordinary food actually taste better in the company of good friends and nice ambience?

I’m a sucker for ambience, al fresco dining will always be the option when the weather is kind. And this ain’t some prime location, it’s Punggol park for goodness sake; I haven’t been to Punggol before!

Nothing too heavy or fanciful since we were there during mid-afternoon. The spicy wings ($6.90) were great for some light snacks. I remembered it was red fiery-hot; it was a satisfaction; gnawing at the meat, chewing on the bones, and sucking dry the oh-so-hot chilli flavour.

I couldn’t figured out why the fries were called X-cut ($5.90), but it was crispy and a close resemblance to nachos rather than fries. Dipped the fries into chilli sauce, and I’ll have my ketchup please.

And if I may, the tiramisu ($6.90) was a waste of money. For the sole reason that it wasn’t made in-house, there’s no value. What-to-do, a mis-time of tiramisu-craving. I know it doesn’t sound nice, but 7 bucks is a lot of money, it could get you a very good tiramisu elsewhere.

The place reminds me of Bark Cafe, another great place for finger food and chilling out. And it isn’t a coincidence that my buddy introduced me to both places; he’s a sucker for ambience too! And by the way, I absolutely loathed the round-shape cylinder that was placed on every table, the presence of the chilli-ketchup bottles didn’t help too.

You are always welcome to visit ladyironchef for a full-up on this trip. Whatever written herein are my genuine feelings expressed in words. Food, my dear, is what they call an adventure!

Have been to Bliss with my friends/colleagues pretty often since its near my workplace. Food is generally standard, with my favourite being the Seafood spaghetti in cream sauce. We normally would order the set which comes with either salad or soup, with a drink dessert.

It was until my last trip there, am i very disappointed with their service. I was not feeling well that day and suggested Bliss as i was craving for cream spaghetti. My friends agreed and we went on to our order. At first the waiter was kind of blur, it's obvious he is new. He took the note pad out but did not write anything onto it. Luckily he tried repeating our orders and we had to remind him who's taking what. We were confused when one takes out a notepad but don't take down the order and try to recall and it wasn't 100% successful...

Anyway we waited. The soup and drink finally came after 15mins, which was longer than usual. By then, we were all starving. My guy friend's order came after another 10mins with us chasing orders. Both mine and my gf's came after another 15 and 20mins later. We chased orders for like 4times at least. And had to endure that 35-40mins, with a cranky unwell me. The last sentence i shot the waiter was, have you caught my chicken and her beef? By then, 2 out of 3 are famished. The meatball spaghetti wasn't fantastic, even if you travel to Ikea and back, it wouldn't take as long. My chicken chunk cream spaghetti was ok only.

But on the contrary, their bill came within mins! I was so upset, i almost wanted to tell the manager off. No discounts, no nothing. Utter disappointment.

My last visit is definitely of below average rating, with my past experiences being average.

Went for supper here with my gf again this weekend.

Some of the new findings... There is 50% off for students from 4-6pm on weekdays. This is super cheap!

Anyway, during out supper. We had gourmet sausage main which costs around $16 . Consist of 3 types of sausages.. could only remember the curly snail sausage. haha..

We had some mocktail and chocolate. They were normal though. Didnt have the beer this time round.

The place consist of 2 sections, the inside air-conditioned section and the outside section above the punggol park lake on wooden platform. The view is good outside for those who want to bring their partners along.

The usual crowds are mostly teenagers and young adults. Sometime may see families around. Nice place to chill and have dinner or just some drinks. Lot of beer and wine selection.

After living around the area for ages, this is the first time that I visited Bliss restaurant over at Punggol Park.

The restaurant is hidden by trees thus it is kind of hard to spot when you are driving.

There is nothing really to shout about on the food. The usual American food. Stuff like Chicken, Lamb, Steak, French Fries, Oyster, Mussel etc.

They have a good selection of wine and beer though. 4 - 5 pages of them. This is something new to me.

As the place is quite small and near to the heartland, it is pack when I arrive around 8pm.

I ordered their special for the evening. Beef fillet with asparagus and mushroom. It turns out to be a finger dish. Nothing much to comment about the food since I did not order their main course.

I would definitely go back and try out their menu. The price is still quite acceptable in my opinion.

Yet again, i brought my gf for dinner on this day. This time at a location much closer to home. This restaurant has been featured on television before for its unique location and quality of its food. The program raved about its food but i've never been a believer of commercial reviews so its more or less my own thoughts right here.
For starters, i liked the environment and the view. The location is quiet and though there were quite a few people there, it didn't come across as packed as there were plenty of leg space for everyone which is what i like.

(Bliss Special) Crab meat soup - My gf ordered a bliss special meal which consisted of a soup, main course and a dessert. All for $13.90 which was quite a shock for me as the price was rather low for what i envisioned to be a medium priced location. I was however, soon to realise why it could come at such a price.
The crab meat soup they served was not unlike the broth used in shark's fin soup. It had little pieces of carrot, radish, some crab meat and quite a bit of pepper. Nothing amazing but what do you expect for the price eh?

Stella Artois ($7.50) - Our drink for the day. A word of caution, the place DOES NOT SERVE cold water. So you MUST buy a drink. On further notice, i realise the place serves a pretty decent selection of wine, mostly old world wines at a pretty hefty price. If my memory serves me well, it does not serve wine by the glass. @ $7.50 a bottle, it does strike me as rather expensive for a simple beer but i may just be a miser. =P

Baked Seafood Rice ($14.90) - My main course of the day. It was a rather large serving so that earns it plus points. Beneath the thick layer of cheese contains 2 medium sized prawns, 2 huge mussels and assorted pieces of fish interlaced with the rice. Not to mention the 2 squid rings you see on top.
To be honest, i was rather excited when i got my dish. It smelled great and i love tomato based stuff, be it pasta or rice. And looking at the huge serving with the ingredients they offered just made my mouth water. However, it looks better then it tastes honestly, so that really disappointed me. Don't get me wrong, the rice was great and so was the cheese layer but the crucial part of its seafood just didn't quite cute it for me. The prawns were moderately fresh but the mussel and squid ring couldn't be called good which is such a waste considering the nicely done rice. Overall, this is passable but the seafood alone was not worth the money.

(Bliss Special) Smoked Salmon Pasta - Once again, the presentation of the dish is excellent. The serving of salmon it came with was quite generous i must say. However, the salmon didn't taste fresh yet again, just like the seafood in my baked rice. I would have really liked if they could give reasonably fresh seafood for their dishes, because the pasta tasted pretty well done as did the rice. Maybe the chef's specialty is actually in these instead of seafood? Because it sure tasted that way. The pasta was springy and had enough seasoning to make it taste slightly salty yet not overbearing. Needless to say, the pasta was finished but the salmon remained.

Tiramisu ($5.90) - This disappointed me to no end. I wanted a good dessert to end the rather mundane dinner offering but it just didn't do the dessert justice. The top layer was way too soft and watery as was the bottom layer. The rum soaked and completely destroyed the cake layer beneath and worse, the rum didn't taste like rum at all! This has got to be the worst tiramisu i've had thus far. Do NOT try it.

Not shown is my gf's dessert which is also equally bad. Mango ice cream from a really bad manufacturer i suspect. Not worth mentioning as well.

Total bill for 2 came up to $42.20

I like the place and the lack of service charge and GST. I also like the rice and spaghetti but the seafood really didn't do anything for me in the meal except make me sigh in disappointment. The dessert served was outrageously bad as well and the lack of iced water is simply a sin. Service was nice but difficult to get and given the bad seafood, the price to pay for this 'Blissful' meal simply wasn't worth it.
