We have always been fans of yam paste and with a relative’s recommendations, we decided to drop by 鼎泰豐 for their Steamed Yam Dumplings 芋泥小籠包. The 芋泥小籠包 were pretty small and quaint-looking. 6 for the price of $5.80 . Every 小籠包 was sumptuously filled with yam filling. The yam paste was dense, smooth and not too sweet. In fact, it tasted good on its own, even better without the dumpling skin. The 小籠包 skin wasn’t exactly very compatible with the yam paste filling, rather the conventional steamed bun skin would be a better option. But overall, the 芋泥小籠包 is a commendable effort by 鼎泰豐. Perhaps they should consider introducing Yam Paste into their rather limited dessert menu.
