GV vivo is one of my favourite cinema so far. It has good sound system and good air conditioning. Seats are nice and comfortable. Arm rest can be lifted up too! perfect for couples :)
However, the cinema exits are not that well designed. There isn't any clear signages that lead us back to the mall. First timers could probably lost their way if they aren't following the crowd after movie.
Advertisements should be shorten through. Usually advertise for 15 to 30 mins before the actual show starts, which kind of boring and waste our time.

$72 for a pair of movie ticket in a luxurious seat for 2 hours... do you think worth it??it all depends on the movie and the person next to you...
just watch Sherlocks Holmes in GV Gold Class @ Vivocity with someone special..
we feel very high class and the environment damn luxurious also the service staff serve u differently.. feeling like you are their super super VIP...but...
for me, it's worth it only during special occasion like Valentine's Day, Birthday, Anniversary or etc...
once a while is ok... if everytime go movie also Gold Class, must well save the money for travel....
Recommended for medium working class people like me... to go once a month or 2month with a very good movie..

The seats at GV vivo are really big and comfortable and the airconditioning is quite good as compared to other GV branch. The tickets sales at night is really good. So i suggest that tickets should be bought in advance or online especially during holidays and peak periods. Try to reach the cinema early too because the popcorn queue during peak hours is relatively long too. GV always have 10 minutes of advertisement before the movie really starting airing. Its really boring to watch those advertisement because GV don't really change them. Besides all that, the ticket price is quite expensive for students. I prefer cathay over GV as cathay has student price on weekdays afternoon.

The outward appearance is very sophisticated, classy and spacious. I felt like I was walking into a hotel lobby.
At the time when I went on my second date with my loved one, we went in to watch Bride Wars on a January day. The staff was very nice, they smiled at us, asked us if we wanted Coke, Sprite or Root Beer, very politely.
When we went in to the cinema, I was more amazed because it was so big and when my butt landed on the seat, my butt was in heaven. The seats were very very soft and comfortable. Along with comfy seats, the atmosphere was also very romantic to sneak in kisses whilst watching the movie.
However, I agree that the seats are like plane seats. Its very erect and you have to sit straight, but hey, it trains you to have good posture. Also the allocation of space inbetween the rows of seats are well spaced, my legs dont feel cramped at all, like it did in other movie theathers. Also, there were little to none of my movie screen being blocked by other movie goer's heads but the seats were kind of high so I couldn't slouch down.
In all, I have to say that my experience at Golden Village at Vivo City was wonderful as was my date, because afterwards, you can always go to the rooftop and watch the leftover stars in the sky.

On Christmas Day, I went for the 7pm show and it's pretty crowded to get to the cinema from the train station, but my feel is that it's still better than the Tampines GV and Plaza Sing GV, since those are located on the top floors and you either super-slowly go up a few levels of escalator, or you have to wait for the very-crowded lifts. Here, it is just located on Level 2, and you could still shop/window-shop as you walk towards the cinema.
There was a very long queue at the ticketing counter, but they had many counters (think was 3.5 counters for normal ticketing) (compared to so few at Tampines GV), so I guess it would still be a reasonable waiting time (I went for the Platinium queue which was pretty fast as they have 1.5 counters for it).
Their ticket-checking was on the 3rd floor, where there was another drinks counter there which seems pretty quiet compared to the one on the 2nd floor which had queues.
Initially I thought the seats was nice, as the hand-rest can be lifted (guess the couples would love it) and there was ample leg space and I could even put the popcorn by the side of my legs (wide seats!). But the head-rest was simply annoying. My firend was saying she need to bring the U-shape pillow next time, since the seats were like plane seats....

Classy, spacious and comfortable. This three words can simply sum up the cinema at Vivo City.
Compared to the many other GV cinemas, this has got to be one of the best. The place is very much more classy and spacious. I feel that there's more space between each row of seats and it's more comfortable.
One suggestion is that to buy the ticket much earlier or do online booking, otherwise you won't be able to get the good seats!

This is definitely not my favourite cinema because of the bad seats and lousy customer service. I once went for a little grocery shopping before my movie as it was a really last minute decision. I had to lug 2 packets of drinks, a packet of snacks and some biscuits. The staff did not allow me to bring my food and drinks in. Instead, they want me to leave them behind at the counter. I explained that my packets of milk will go bad but the guy refused to let me in. When I asked if they will bear any responsibility if my drinks go bad, he barked back by saying I should know that I shouldn't buy them if I want to catch a movie! How absurd! I think he should think of a solution rather than being so sarcastic and rude! I think even free passes will not make me want to go back there for movies again! Give me The Cathay anytime!
