An annual event that keeps the anime and toy lovers on their toes... If you haven't been to the Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention, you are missing out something exciting. This annual fair showcases a good collection of cartoons, toys and anime that kept us accompanied through our childhood and for some into our adult hood.

My last visit to this exhibition was my first and I had a shocked. First to greet me are the Cosplay dressers posing like their manga's outside the halls, all elaborately dressed with complete make-up that resembles the anime they represent, some in plastic suits and some with large spanning wings that looked so real. While the enthusiastic photographers clicked away, some even calling out to them to pose for pictures.

As i entered the hall, more of these exotic creatures greeted me and on stage, they have a program in which cosplay participants are suppose to imitate the anime as much as possible. One dressed in patent red plastic suits resembling some Japanese anime walking down the RUNWAY is singing and dancing away to the themed song, mouthing the Japanese words EXACTLY according to the song... Its so surreal, its as if i'm watching some Japanese anime.

While i browsed the booths and exhibits, I could find all the toys and characters I once loved. Spiderman, Iron Man and all the other Marvel characters was there, in the forms of collectible toys, Transformers both the new toys and the old collectibles are available as exhibits and some with exorbitant price tags. I must say its an extremely colorful, eventful and fun exhibition.

The merchandises sold were out of the world cute, fun, interesting and all the other intriguing words I can find in my dictionary. The toys, dolls, figurines, stationary, collectibles, posters, wall vinyls, t-shirts and other merchandises are not what you can usually find in the shops, I must say they are pretty exclusive to the exhibition. If you looking for that perfect gift for your child who loved anime, manga or cartoons in general or perhaps you want to have a quirky piece or super cool figurine intricately made and designed to resemble the multiple pieces of the TRANSFORMERS, then you should visit the exhibition and pick one up. Remember to bring more CASH!

Its truly an event of the year, something to make the young and old excited about.
