We stayed at the Sivalai Place for the third time in a year in July and were very happy we decided to return. Once again we enjoyed the attention to detail that characterises the Sivalai Place - the warm and extremely helfpul staff, the great smoothies. It is in a quiet, non-touristy street but is a comfortable walk to the local market and see the local life. Just 15 minute drive to Wongwien yai which then takes you to the Skytrain station. There are street stalls and noddle stalls selling great food within easy walkiing distance - and a 10 minute drive to Wang Lang Pier (where there are plenty of foods and shops). Yes, it may be a bit expensive compared to other places available in Bangkok, but the standard of service offered by the Sivalai Place and its unique style make it great value for money - much better than a big hotel on the river. We will certainly be staying there again next time we're in Bangkok.

I stayed at Sivalai Place on either side of a month trip around SE Asia with my girlfriend. The hostel is an oasis of calm, henomenal staff, big swimming pool, and world-class smoothies (seriously, don't miss out on these). The room are large, clean and comfortable. The environment is so chill that its easy to just while away the day, without even wanting to enter the mayhem of Bangkok!
It's not right in the center of town, but that's a good thing - who wants to be in the center of town anyway? With tuktuks and taxis all over, it's better to be in the cool and comfortable place.
Absolutely the best hotel I found around in SE Asian travels, and I can't wait to go back!

My friend and I stayed at the Sivalai Place for three nights before flying back to Hongkong from Bangkok.
It's a great choice. We booked a Studio Room which was spacious and comfortable with balcony, LCD TV, and kitchenette area.
The breakfast at the cafe' was so lovely with friendly smiles. The staff was also happy to pre-book a taxi to the airport for us and helped us organize the sightseeing tour in Bangkok.
We enjoyed the gym, big swimming pool and tennis courts.
The location is pretty far from Silom and MBK but it is quiet and peace, from Sivalai Place is just about 15 mins drive to skytrain and just 15 mins drive to Khaosan road.
I think if you want a quiet, reliable, base in the Old City of Bangkok (Thonburi) then it would be hard to be disappointed by the Sivalai Place.

This is a great option if you are in Bangkok on a sightseeing trip. Location is great, just 15 minutes drive to Wongwien Yai skytrain. Hotel is clean and modern - definitely doesn't have the service or perks of a 5 star property but very comfortable nonetheless. Rooms are huge size, plenty of TV channels (LCD TV), great bathroom. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get out. (On request they gave us a room on highest floor- just with a smile. Free wireless Internet). Liked the ozone swimming pool, great for cooling off after a hot day. Good value for money considering the quality of the rooms. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Bangkok.

This was my first 1st experienced in Thailand. Sivalai Place made this one of my best travel ever. The personnel staff was superb! He food was great! The room were outstanding! very clean, beautiful place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were blown away by the quality of the service, considering the reasonable price! The only problem is that the taxis have a hard time finding the place. Even when we gave them the card with the direction, they still don’t know how to get to the hotel. But overall, we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. I’ll definitely come back again for the next stay ^_^

Brilliant hostel, so cheap, very clean, great location . My boyfriend and I stayed here as part of our 'around the world trip'. We started and finished in Bangkok. We stayed here the 2nd time as we wanted something a little cheaper. We were pleasantly suprised. The rooms are very nicely decorated, the staff were very helpful and it is situated near Temple of Dawn, Wongwien Yai BTS and Khao San Road (10 min drive - 70 -80 Baht).
We went to Khao San Road on our first night in Bangkok. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and the market is a must for trying different foods such as fried cockroaches (didn't try them myself).
The rooms are clean they have air-conditioning, an en-suite shower-room, a LCD TV and a Fridge with cheap Minibar!

I have recommended to lots of friends since going and they have recommended to others too. This was my favourite hotel of our entire trip!

I stayed here for three nights. My brother stayed for 5 nights. I discovered this place online. The staff here are superb. It is situated near Khaosan road, Grand Palace, Wat pho and Wat Arun. Just 10 min drive to skytrain (Wongwien yai). Big swimming pool. Away from the hustle of Bangkok I recommend Sivalai Place for the 20s to 40s.
Our 2 Bedroom Deluxe room in Sivalai Place was a good size with an excelent bed and a very good bathroom. We would stay again and look forward ot doing os in the future.
PS: Missed the Smoothies at the Cafe' :-)
