Ayam Penyet is actually fried chicken served with rice. What is special about this dish is that the chicken is deep fried and then flatten with a mallet ( small hammer ) to loosen the meat. Together with a separate plate of fragant rice, it sit on top of a powerful sweet, hot and slightly sour sambal which will give you a good kick or punch when you bite both together.
At $3.50 for a plate of rice, chicken and a bowl of soup, this stall has gained popularity in Singapore. Beside this main outlet, the owner has opened another 9 outlets spreading through north, east, south and west of Singapore.
