Hubby is Yakiniku fan so we bear great anticipation when step into Tajimaya @ Vivo.

Initially we wanted to go for the cheapest beef set at $59. The waiter recommended us Karubi & Wagyu beef set (at about $79 & $108 each). Thinking that the beef maybe less chewy, we took up the Karubi set at $79.00. Since it was Monday, Sapparo beer was only $1.00 a mug!

The meat/vege for BBQ were served and I was initally disappointed to see the small servings. Then, on came the appetizing salad, lovely fragrant garlic rice, crispy tempura with gingered soy sauce. The coal has been burned and turned white where the heat is just nice for BBQ. The lime juice was perfect for salmon. My hubby simply refills the chilli-like-paste for the Karubi!

By the end of our meal, I cant even stomach all my rice serving when Mochi came on! The moral - looks small but filling. We both agree that the meal was really satisfying in taste and in space! Thought it maybe a little pricey but really money well spent for the meal. Thumbs up!

Walked into Tajimaya after viewing their menus at doorway.

Decided to try their Wagyu Karubi Set for 2 at $108 . They have 2 other Karubi Set, Australia and US Karubi Set at $59 and $89 respectively.

The Set comes with 4different cuts of beef (japanese), 1 pork, 1 salad, 1mixed vegetables, 1side (lettuce and some vegs to be wrap and eat) and mochi ice cream. It's alot thou but it was GREAT... the beef was so soft and tender, I try puting the beef and some veg and wrap with the lettuce, it was GREAT. yummy......

The staff change the grill every 20minutes, so our food wont have the black soot stick on it. The service was fast, our food and drinks comes within 5minutes thou the garlic rice comes 25mins later, was told they are preparing it.

My first time here but the experience was good, its really value for money if you like the beef like i do.

One plus point, you wont smell too much of BBQ after leaving the place. But somehow, I still recommend to go home and have a good bath and wash your hair :)

On 9th of February 2008, which is the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, some coffeeshops have yet to open for business. So hubby and I decided to make our way down to eat at Vivocity.

We were walking round, looking for places we've never ate at. Wanted to try new stuffs on the 3rd day on Chinese new year. :)

We walked by this Japanese Restaurant call Tajimaya Yakiniku. Looked at what they have, Japanese charcoal grill . Seems nice, so we decide to try them out. :)

When we walked in, there weren't many customer. A young man who looks like the manager served us. We sat at this huge table with lots of seat and holes in the table to put hot coals.

As we walked to our seat, I felt cold and use my hands to rub my arms, the guy immediately went and adjust the air condition for us. He mention that he only adjust it a little higher because when the hot coals and food comes, it'll be a little warmer. :) Plus point here.

The staffs took quite sometime to serve the coals and food, but they were apologetic and polite.

I can't remember what we ordered but it's all beef and 1 plate of mushroom. I love the mushroom but I guess Japanese beef grillings probably not my thing. :p Hubby love the beef though. :)

I don't remember how much hubby paid in total, but it's definitely more than 100 . Which I thought it's far too expensive. :p

Will there be those "foodcourt" kind of smell stuck to you after dining there? If don't have, I want to go try. :)
