Zouk nightclub has 4 different themed clubs; Velvet Underground, Phuture, Zouk and the Winebar. The admission of SGD$30 for men and SGD$25 for women, (includes 2 drinks) gives you admission to all 4 clubs - good value for money
Velvet Underground is a pretty posh place. There's an older crowd at Velvet, as they have in place an over-23 rule for this club
Zouk is the biggest of the four sections and is particularly lively and enjoyable on Wednesday nights when they have their weekly "Mambo night" - they play a lot of classic songs, from the 70s-90s, tracks. I would definitely recommend checking the place out on Wednesdays for the Mambo nights. It's a really popular night in Singapore and it's great cause it attracts a younger and hip crowd and an unique experience in my opinion.
One thing you have to bear with during weekends, as mentioned by other reviewers, is the mass of army boys who will gather at Zouk. They can get quite rowdy at times.
Drinks inside are pretty expensive inside though - it's always a good idea to share a jug (60SGD) or even a bottle of Vodka/Chivas (220SGD) between friends.

I used to hang out in Zouk like twice a week. Love the Mambo Night and, of course Phuture on the friday. It used to fill with pretty boys and girls. As like a year or more back, they were one of the few clubs that charge like 23 bucks for their entry, so somehow you will not see too many kids in the Zouk.
At my last visit to Zouk and Mambo, the club is filled with people that dressed really sloppy and they still give a "CANT BE BOTHERED" face. I guessed they should be "educated" properly by their senior. Please dress up, comb your hair, and make yourself smell better. (Maybe now after the ban of smoking club, had make my nose slightly more sensitive), so it is really important to be keep yourself smell better compare to last time.
It does deserve a 4 to 5 stars around a year ago, but now it only deserve only a 2 star from me.

Zouk, one of the most famous clubbing spots in Singapore and one of the best places to go to if you are too young and still wish to experience what the clubbing scene woo ha is all about.
I've only ever been to the place once and it was during the CNY celebrations a couple of years ago. What i can say is that the place is dark, dangy and lacks a certain finesse which should be the order of the day.
Drinks were hellishly expensive and the crowd consisted of little girls and army boys. And on that fateful day, the army boys outnumbered girls by 10 to 1. It was a scene to behold.
The positive notes would be that the songs were rather connectable and there were lots of people on the dance floor. Some were doing synchronised dances on the floor as well which was rather interesting but otherwise, i really don't see the draw for people to actually patronize the place.
Maybe i'm just a bar person but Zouk is just not for me.

This is probably the most famous club in Singapore and I would dare to say all clubbers have entered this place at least once. It is also this place where a certain famous "Mambo Jumbo" dance culture is popularise (Every Wed Night) - so much so that this culture is exported to many parts of the world where there is a Singaporean presence.
Not only would you get to experience synchronised dancing using mostly the upper torso of your body, one would probably bump in many NS boys and teens during one of these Mambo Nights.
The thing I love most in Zouk is their drinks - Vodka Ribena and Long Island Tea. Try it and you will know the difference.
Oh 1st 300 Citybank members get to enter for free!

i guess zouk is definitely not a foreign name to most of the younger singaporeans. no doubt the music and crowd are nice, but just wanna share this experience which got me abit disturbed.
i remember this bartender washing some dirty glasses stuffed with soaked tissues and cigarette buds (it was in early 2007) taking out all the rubbish with his bare hands. i ordered a cocktail with him and him, having acknowledged my order, just turn off the tap, wipe his wet hands with his suspiciously dirty looking apron, and started preparing the drink for me.
there wasnt much of an issue coz basically his hands didnt come in contact with my drink. but it was till he used his bare hands to throw some garnish into my drink.
yuck! i dont remember him washing his hands with soap or something after taking out all the gross rubbish in the glasses. and tadah! the same hands that throw the garnish into my drinks!
i refused the order and demanded another glass of my order. i wonder what will happen if i didnt look at him prepare my drink.

For clubbers, zouk is the place you must experience at least once in your clubbing days. The security there is one of the most demanding I have ever seen. It is not so fast & easy to get in. Also ,the place is not the most accessible for clubbers. It will be best if zouk is a more convenient to go & have fun.

Talk about Zouk..
Who could ever forget about the forever famous "MAMBO NIGHT?"
We basically grow up together with it.. Whenever it's Wednesday night, friends will be calling up each other to meet at Copethrone Hotel Taxi Stand...
The whole night filled with retro songs, very "ON" crowd and of course not to be missed dance and action by the Mambo King.. Tell me who could forget about all these?
Zouk never fails to make our growing up days a little more excited and colourful.
