If you travel along Paya Lebar road, you will see a prominent sign of Han's cafe inside the Trinity ( Church ) Building. However, it took me a while to find it after parking my car at basement car park. Perhaps, the building is still new ( infact, it seems to me that it is still not completed ) and there is no proper signage directing you to the cafe.
As usual, I ordered the Dory fish and chips and a cup of coffee. I am not crazy over fish and chip, but at Han's, this will be my standard order. I love their Dory fish and coffee. It is always so crispy outside and soft internally. The fish is fresh and the serving is big enough to fill my stomach. For the big eater, it will be just nice after the cup of coffee. For me, I will have to sacrifice the chips to make room for the nice coffee.
Unlike at China Square, Century Square and other outlets, this outlet is relatively big. There is no abience to talk about. It is more like a canteen because it seems to cater for a big crowd ( I believe it can easily accomodate 100 persons, I mean, inhouse. ). However, the quality of the food is the same as other outlets and the wait staffs were very friendly.
At this moment, parking is free. So try it out before it is too late.
Just receive a promotional brochure and logon to their website for a quick browse. Looks good and prices are reasonable. Would like to see anyone who has ordered from them before and share the experience because I may need it soon.
Had my Mother's day celebration at this restaurant on 13 May. The person who took our order is a young China lady by the name of Sammy Lin. We were quite indecisive of what to order and she voluntĂȘer to offer her suggestion. She seems to know her job well and suggest dishes that
suit our taste. Almost every of her suggestion were accepted. Unlike some other restaurant, she suggested only minimum dishes and stop us from ordering more food. I think this is very helpful as she knows best how big the service portion will be. After taking our order, she top up tea for us. 20 minutes later, she noticed that our food were not served and came to inform us that the food will be served shortly although we did not ask for it.
We enjoy our dinner and the food is just sufficient for all of us.
It seems that either Chinese from China provide better service than local chinese or Overseas workers value their jobs more than the local. Anyway, Pine Valley is lucky to
have staffs with the correct attitude that make the customers dining experience more pleasant.
I usually will select the seat near the window so that I can look out to the golf field while dining. Although it may not have as many variety as other Japanese restaurant in the town area, it is good enough for me because I only order my usual stuff. ie, Shake ( Fresh Salmon ) , Ebi Tempura ( Prawn ), Tori kara-Age ( Deep fried chicken ) and Karifornia Maki ( Carifornia Mat Roll ). These are the most typical Japanese food for me. Sometimes I may also order Kani Kara-Age ( Deep fried soft shell crab ) but must not be too much. Another side dish I will order is the out-of-menu item, ie, Garlic fried rice. However, the waitress will issue a warning, ' it will take a long time for this dish to be cooked and the chef will only prepare it when there is no crowd'.
The price may be a little higher than other places but parking is never a problem for even non-member. Can give t a try.
If you have not visited this 'kitchen' ( I won't call it restaurant because it lacks the spacious and proper table arrangement as seen in a restaurant ) , you should try it out now.
There are really too many variety and mostly Hong kong style cooking. I particularly like the Pepper beaf and Roast duck.
The only problem is too crowded. You need to wait to be seated. You also need to wait to pay for the bill.
