Awesome was the word that came to our minds when we first step into the soft carpeted entrance. As we waited to be ushered, we could see delightful expression on most of the diners as there are not many high floor dining places in Singapore offering good view of Central Business District and Marina Bay.

The varieties of food is quite limited. Perhaps because they are catering for hi tea which is from 3.30pm to 5.00pm. We walked and glanced through one round to decide what we would like to eat and then assigned our friends to each section.

We decided on laksa because it was freshly prepared by their staff. The gravy was average and quite diluted for our taste buds. But dim sum items were deliciously good. All of them were in bite sizes. It was a pity that these items were not replenished when the steamed baskets are empty.

There were a few Nyonya desserts that we liked and one of them is kueh kosui. It has a balanced mix of coconut milk and the fragrance of pandan leaves in the floured kueh.

Although there are not many items to choose, we were quite full after an hour of eating sushi, sandwiches and porridge. But we considered the price quite expensive for hi tea which we could have gone for better valued buffet lunch spread at Asian Market Cafe.

As we sat and rested our stomach, we began to enjoy the panoramic view of Singapore and appreciate the oriental setting of the whole environment. The only negative comment was that this place was rather humid even though standing fans and air cooler were placed at all corners.

Fans in a hotel is like a big no no.... and the looks of food lacks in prestige as this is a pretty iconic location! Oh Well, perhaps they think the view is enough to WOW anybody!

We were attracted by photos of different types of noodles and xiao long bao ( steamed dumpling ) displayed at main entrance. But upon looking at the menu, this outlet seem to have limited items.

Xiao Long Bao ( $5.50 per basket ) - We could see the translucent skin covering the meat ingredients with small amount of soup oozing out. The meat was juicy, tender and sweet.

Four Season Happiness Dumplings ( $5.50 per basket ) – Wow, we were surprised at the portion meant for 2 persons. Though decorated colourfully, the meat was much better than xiao long bao because of chopped vegetables toppings.

Poached Spinach in Century Eggs ( $12.80 ) – A bit expensive considering it is only steamed vegetables mixed with bits of century eggs. Quite bland for our taste buds.

Overall, the food was above average except that the place is quite humid. This may be partly due to the entrance door facing the nearby bus stop. There are customers walking in and going off and therefore create lesser cold air in this outlet.

Finally we managed to secure seats for this outlet as we have heard positive comments regarding the authenticity of their handmade Japanese noodles.

The staff highly recommended their featured dish for this month which was Butariki Ishinabe (Sizzling Stone Pot Rice with Pork)

We were briefly told that they only use premium Niigata Koshihikari rice from Japan ( which we have no idea where but sounds like good quality ) . The main star ingredient was the thinly sliced pan fried pork. We were quite skeptical as the pork will be either dried or too hard to chew. The staff assured us that theirs will be juicy and easy to chew.

It turned out that it was quite a big portion for 3 of us. The pork slices were indeed slightly crispy but not dried or hard. Other items in this dish included generous amount of seaweed, spring onions and sesame seeds. We were more seduced by the raw egg lying on top of all the ingredients. Overall, it was delicious as we could also taste the chewy grains of rice.

The other dish Curry Ramen with Chicken Katsu was equally good as the thin batter coating the chicken meat was not oily and therefore we could appreciate the moist and tender meat. The less than spicy sweet curry gravy was average as it lacked that kick that we were looking forward to.

Yaki Gyoza ( Fried Dumpling ) was the side dish that we have ordered. The ingredients were well marinated and with the thin skin covering it, it was worth eating.
The other side dish that was served initially was equally appetizing though we could not figure out whether it was spring onion that was marinated with their special sauce.

We highly recommended this place to try out their innovative and interesting food menu but the only issue was that this place is too noisy even though that day was only semi-crowded. With a simple layout, the tables are placed too close that we could hear unwanted conversation.

"Freshly baked...Reduced Sugar...Reduced Butter" caught our eyes when we ordered our mixed rice dishes. No, we were not talking about the rice dishes but the stall next to it selling muffins.

The display showcased a variety of freshly baked muffins. We could not take our eyes off those muffins as all of them look so tempting. From the look of it, we could see that the owner has taken pains to create innovative range such as chocolate & hazelnut, mochaccino ( mocha with cuppacinno? ), apple lemon with cinnamon, peach slices, cream cheese, etc

We ordered a few pieces to try after our light dinner. The muffins were really good. Unlike some muffins which turned out to be dry, flaky and full of flour, the ones over here are moist and full of real stuff. At least when we bite on the ingredients, we could taste the fragrant of real hazelnut, apple or banana bits.

The partner managing the stall was also friendly and took effort to explain the detailed ingredients in each muffin. We were impressed and happy that besides the personalised service, we do not feel guilty as all muffins were made with lesser sugar and butter.

We were wandering aimlessly as we could not find a comfy place to rest our legs. Every food outlet seem to have long queue of people waiting to be served.

We finally chose this outlet as we saw two young female staff greeting us politely even though we were just browsing through the menu. We also noticed that it was not so crowded and rowdy as compared to those places that we wanted to dine initially.

Fried Chicken Wings with Fish Sauce ( $9.50 ) - The chicken wings seem to have shrunk quite a bit as there were hardly any meat left to chew. But the crispy skin was well marinated and that helped to offset our disappointment.

Crayfish Spaghetti with Garlic ( $14.50 ) - This was the best dish as the springy spaghetti was lightly covered with black pepper and this made the dish very palatable. The meaty crayfish were also a bonus as we were expecting smaller sized shellfish.

Stir Fried Minced Meat with Basil Leaves ( $11.90 ) - As usual, most Thai-concept food outlets will served this popular dish. We were pleasantly surprised that the meat was juicy and have the right mix of long beans, basil leaves and baby chillies.

Lastly, we finished with Pomelo Salad with Shrimps ( $10.50 ) - A bit expensive but unique dish that combined chunks of pomelo, prawns and cashew nuts in a mixture of special salad sauce.

Food was served very quickly, service was efficient and what we like most was the attitude of the staff that greeted customers and also thank customers for their patronage
