This bakery used to be named Panderia. Has another outlet in Paragon. Recently this outlet at Raffles City has been renamed Epi D'or. The items offered are exactly the same at both outlets.
My favourite is the scones (4 for $3.10) and the chocolate croissant. The prices of the items here are very affordable. They do have promotions for their small items varying from cheese buns to buns with hotdogs, five for $2.80.
Not one of those rip off bakeries. The scones are a must try. :)
This beef noodle stall has been around since 1997. They are famous for their beef noodles (dry & soup). The dry version (S$3.50) comes with a small bowl of soup. The soup is rather tasty and leaves a warm feeling in your stomach. I enjoy both the bee hoon and the kway teow version. The noodle is topped with some pickled vegetables and chinese celery.
The stall also sells other beef dishes like fried beef with rice ($5.50) and other dishes on its own.
It may be a good idea to tell the man not to overcook the beef. I didn't have that problem when the lady cooks the beef.
Pete's place has been around for at least 2 decades. Tucked in the basement of the Grand Hyatt, Pete's Place is a cosy place for a meal, be it business or casual.
Pete's place is famous for both its ala carte italian dishes as well as its buffet lunch. The buffet lunch takes in 2 forms. A full buffet includes main courses like Lasagne, pasta, beef stew, fish, chicken, shellfish cooked behind the counter by the chefs. The dishes are cooked on the spot and replenished as and when.
The soup, salad and dessert buffet includes literally the soup, salad and the dessert only. The soup menu changes everyday. I liked the mushroom soup. Rich and creamy. Another favourite is the beef style soup. The failrly wide variety of bread and spreads go well with the soup too. Do not forget the rich desserts.
The salad consists of rather standard items, including cashew nuts, prunes and even tuna.
Too often but not, diners go for the full buffet which includes everything, for a few dollars more.

A Chinese restaurant within Shangri-la. Quality is almost guaranteed. Tried the Dim Sum and some of the regular chinese dishes. Prices are a little higher than average.
Place is nice. Can get a little noisy as family tends to come in large groups.
They serve ala-carte dim sum and buffet (ala-carte) for the dishes.

Had the porridge on two occasions and found it to be on the salty side. Apart from that, the other dishes are lovely.
Private rooms are also available. Do make reservations.
