Read many many entries about this Arnold’s Fried Chicken (City Plaza) and most had gave good reviews about the yummy fried chicken. We decided to check it out!

We (5 of us) ordered the meal which consist of 15 pieces of chicken, 5 drinks, 1 bowl of coleslaw, 1 bowl of whipped potato and 1 “packet” of fries.

Maybe it was the reviews which I had read and my expectations were set too high, I was rather disappointed with their fried chicken.

The chicken were tasteless (like unmarinated meat), meat were too dry instead of juicy, and they are not at all crispy to me. Even though I agree that their chicken were not as oily as those in KFC, I still prefer KFC’s chicken.

However, the coleslaw in Arnold’s is so much better than those in KFC. They are so finely chopped and they do not have the vege raw taste and smell, which the coleslaw in KFC has that.

And the meal that we ordered was way too expensive as compared to what we can get from KFC and the quantity for coleslaw, fries and whipped is too little to share among 5 people.

Okinawan Noodle set   Stewed Pork Belly   Champloo Set   Nirai Kanai All in One Set   Pork Belly Set
It's my first time visiting this branch but I had tried a few times at the branch at Tanglin Shopping centre. Went there for lunch and it seems alittle crowded when we reached, and we were told that they can only serve set lunches and very few ala cart dishes can be ordered. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to have the pork belly noodles but it was not in the set menu.

I ordered the Okinawan Noodle set, which came with a bowl of noodles with pork, a bowl of rice and a peanut beancurd. The noodles were not as good as the pork belly noodles I had before, and it was not well-cooked when it was first served to me. When we alerted the waiter, he was quite apologetic and went to exchange another one for me. The rice was yummy yummy! No other words to describe. And what was worth mentioning, in my opinion, was the peanut beancurd. It was so soft, and it had this very unique taste. Very nice!

The most important dish one must have when they patronised this restaurant is the stewed pork belly. It's delicious but if you are someone who are scare of fatty meat, then it is best to avoid. The meat and the fat will just melt in my mouth. Very good!

This is not a typical Japanese restaurant that serve those common japanese food which you find in most japanese restaurants in Singapore. This restaurant served authentic okinawa food and is run by a Japanese boss. Most of their serving staff are Japanese too.

I attended a wedding solemnization (with Hi-Tea reception) in this hotel on a Saturday afternoon. The room is at level 5, the same level as the swimming pool. When I first entered the hotel, the hotel staff were friendly and even offered a chocolate for my daughter.

The view of the room is facing the greenery. The window facing the greenery is full length glass (from ceiling to ground), which made the room looked bigger and brighter.

The food for the Hi Tea is pretty good, especially the fried chicken drumlets! Food include the fried bee hoon, sandwiches, siew mai, har gao, spring rolls etc. The coffee was good too, even though it’s self-serviced (usually coffee is served by hotel staff in other hotels).

The waiting staff were quite attentive too. One of them passed my daughter a children pack (colouring cards and colour pens) too. I personally think their service is worth mentioning.

          9. Tampopo Restaurant

Entrance   Shabu Shabu Ramen   Kyushu Ramen   Runny Egg
I had been to Tampopo a few times already. It used to be at the basement of Liang Court. This is the 1st time I visited Tampopo at its new location. They had shifted to the 1st floor of Liang Court (had updated the address here). The new restaurant is bigger and somewhat looks better designed than before.

We ordered the Black Pig Shabu Shabu Ramen and the Kyushu Ramen. The meat in the Shabu Shabu Ramen was delicious! As for the Kyushu Ramen, the cha siew was soft and when I ate it, the meat melted in my mouth. Shiok!

What I like best is the egg inside the Kyushu ramen. The egg is hard on the outside, but the yolk is very semi-cooked. If you eat it once it’s served (when it’s hot), the egg is super nice! If you eat this kind of egg for the 1st time, you will start to wonder how they are able to make such eggs.

If you want extra cha siew or eggs, you can order them as side dishes too.

Meat!   Meat again!   Spicy soup   Side dishes including kimchi   My bowl of onions!
Went to Jang SHou Korean BBQ for lunch on Sat. We reached the restaurant at around 1:45pm and it was not very crowded. After we placed our order, they started to serve us a whole lot of side dishes. Felt like I was eating like those in 大长今. If they serve the side dishes in those very royal kind of plates, I would have felt that I am the Korean king :p

The side dishes include the kimchi, and the side dishes are refillable. When our meat arrived, the staff cooked them for us. Service not bad!

The meat were delicious! Though some parts were not marinated well, where it was too salty, but overall the meat were just so good! The soup was spicy, but I soon got used to them and I think they tasted very good!

The bill adds up to about $170 for 4 adults. Very expensive! But at least the service and the delicious food made it worth the money.
