    Nice place for a date

Went to try Mount Emily after hearing so much about the laksa pesto. It is actually quite hard to reach the place when you don't have your own transport, but take it as exercise before food if you want.

Between my friend and I, we decided to share the crabcake appetiser, the laksa pesto, and the tiramisu. The crabcake was quite good actually, warm and tasted the real crab meat in it. So was the tiramisu which is served properly chilled and with coco dusitng on top.

The disappointment was the laksa pesto.Had expected it to live up to its hype, but it didn't. Just tasted like very dry plain pasta with a tinge of laksa.

Nonethless. the ambience is quite good for couples. Small seating so call to reserve ahead.

Nice spot for a leisure lunch

Went there for lunch on Saturday, not a bad place~~

It was my friend who suggested the place, and I had to agree that its is indeed a nice spot for a leisure lunch or even Sunday brunch. Dotted with tais tais and leisure ladies, and occasional families, with attentive and well informed service staff who makes you feel at ease.

My friend ordered the lamb shank. Not being a red meat lover I chose their pasta of the day: pasta with smoked salmon and crayfish. The lamb supposedly is good. The pasta taste wise was not bad, although I wished the smoked salmon was strips instead of chopped up and tossed in. The crayfish...er...came in mini-size. The many mini crayfishes covered the pasta, looked really nice, but had really puny pieces of flesh...not enough taste-wise for me.

Had a bottle of wine too. I think it was their 2004 housepour, not too bad actually. Kudos on the ambience though. Tables were really close to each other but you don't feel closed in. Nice~~

Must have spent about $100 for lunch, including the wine. An indulgence for a weekend, but will be back to try their other stuff.

        Unexpectedly good

Ate there for dinner as I was hankering after italian food in the vicinity recently, and have always wanted to try Zambuca anyway.

The restaurant itself was extremely quiet, with ourselves being the 2nd occupied table when we arrived at 7pm on a Friday. We ordered 2 safe dishes, the vongole and carbonara, and they were unexpectedly good! It may be one of the best vongole I've tried so far, and portions were BIG, I barely managed to finish it.

Bread came warm and fluffy but nothing extraordinary. Service was attentive but we almost felt like we were being 'watched' due to the rather empty atmosphere. More guests starting turning only around 8pm or so.

Didnt manage to try their tiramisu, but I will, next time. Price wise, I don't think it is considered expensive with main courses hovering around $20 so I'd definitely come back again.

          Go with your girlfriends~

Needed a nice place to catch up with a girlfriend and decided to go for its 101 Tea selection.

2 seatings: 12pm - 2:30pm and 3:30-6pm, so pick your time and make reservation, coz the place fills up with tittering tais tais quite fast.

Kudos to excellent tea selection, and it actually balances the buffet spread quite well. I had 3 whole pots by myself :) Food wise, nothing really outstanding, although they do try to fit in a bit of everything. Sushi, sashimi, mee rebus, scones, pumpkin soup, salmon pastry, popiah, salads, bread, curry, dim sum, naans, potato skins, slamom cakes, and a reasonable spread of desserts & fruits. Nice tiramisu though.

Service was quite faultless: polite, warm, and efficient. But then again, its Shang, so it is expected. Very good for catching up with girlfriends as the lazy ambience and nicely spaced out couches ensure privacy for your gossip!

          A excellent choice for a luxurious afternoon~

            Bad food :(

Looks like we have consensus (almost) about this place.

Picked this place for early dinner after strolling around in Vivo, and the menu looked interesting enough. Bad choice.

We ordered the belgium mussels in wine, which is supposed to be their speciality, but its anything but. I expected fresh plump mussels soaked simmered in flavourful stock but nope, I got smallish shellfish which tasted like it was plonked into the pot last minute as they were just ultra bland. No hint of white wine. At all.

And yup, the seaweed was there!! Ugh.

We also had the carbonara and onion rings, which were really medicore at most. Don't really rememeber the service because of the food.

Better off at foodcourt really. DONT come here. I was extremly dissatisfied and had to adjourn elsewhere for 2nd round.
