Crab Shack is a great place to have a nice & affordable dinner. My first time there on 13 Oct 2007, I ordered 3 Pc Value Meal , which comes with three pieces of steamed flower crabs and one side - a choice of fries, corn or baked beans. The crabs were fresh and the meat was really sweet; best of all, you won't have to burn a hole in your pocket just to savour the taste of our crabby friends because the entire set only costs $7.95. There're also 8 Pc Value Meal.
Another must-try - Crab Croquette. When you bite into the crispy nuggets, expect to be assaulted by the rich taste of crabmeat and a creamy centre. It only costs $2.95!
Die-die-must-try dish is The Crab Baked Rice. Very generous servings of crabmeat and only just $6.50 - yummy and cheap.
Altogether I spent $22.00 for 4 dishes (The 3 dishes above including side order calamari). It is great for value and finger lickin good. However, The Crab Shack is located in a kopi-tiam, so don't expect too much in the way of decor and ambience.

This is a super horrible place. Once you sign up for the programme, they will never let you go. The consultants will surround you and keep pester you to buy more products and slimming programs and even you rejected, they still persist. The effect of the treatment is not effective, might as well go for mesotherapy or lipo. The consultants will ask you to use your boyfriend or husdband money to sign up packages for them. You wont enjoy the treatments as the consultants will talk to you throughout and u cant even rest! Pls avoid this slimming centre. Dont believe what they have advertise. YOu will expect to spend $10,000 if you want effect. The treatment procedures are painful, prepare to see bruises and they said is common sign.
If you like japanese curry and something special, try this restaurant. Wakashachiya is very popular in Japan and there are always queues at their Japan restaurants.
Wakashachiya mainly sell curry udon. Types of flavours are crispy lotus chips, tempura ebi, tempura vegetables, breaded pork & chicken cutlet, egg plant and many more. If you're thinking udon is very big and sloggy, you're wrong. The udon is super "Q" and it blends well with the curry. The curry is not too spicy, and the udon just slips into your throat smoothly. The serving is very generous. Each udon curry cost ranges from $15 - $18. Die die must try the crispy lotus chip and tempura ebi (super big prawn).
Besides curry udon, they have rice balls in 3 flavours (One of the flavour is unagi - eel). Must try cos the rice balls are big (about the size of a lady palm) and only $5 for 3 rice balls.
The restaurant is very cosy and has nice ambiance. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Overall, very good experience :)
Their tau sar piahs are good. They have different flavours such as black sesame, white lotus, yam, tau sar, durian, white sesame, etc. The crust is soft and crispy, fillings are generous and has smooth texture. The sweetness is just nice, not too sweet. My favourite is the yam flavour. First time customers must try the yam, lotus and durian flavour. If you cannot decide, ask the staff for their best sellers. They will give you good recommendations.
Besides tau sar piahs, they have curry puff, tuna puff, chicken pie and bbq pork siew pau. Same as tau sar piahs, the crust for the pastry are soft and crispy. The ingredients are fresh and filings are super generous. The tuna puff is abit spicy, so great for those who love spicy food. I like the texture of the curry puff, the crust is crispy and it blends well with the soft potatoes fillings. The curry puff is not too spicy.
I personally like the bbq pork siew pau as one of the reasons is they use lean meat. When you bite into the siew pau, you will feel the ingredients are bursting out. The bbq sauce is nice and the meat is soft. The crust plus the filings blend well.
Overall, the tau sar piahs and other pastries are good. I don't mind have them often for my afternoon tea :) Reasonable price and the staff are friendly too!
This shop was shown in "Snack Attack!" on TCS 8 for its well-known kaya bun on 9 Aug 2007. I visited the shop on 11 Aug 2007. The bun supposed to be toasted before spreading butter and kaya, but due to overcrowding at the shop, the staff simply spread butter and kaya over the bread without toasting. You feel like eating raw & cold butter with bread, very awful! Each bun cost $1.00 and you hv to wait long for your turn. Poor service n low standard. Not worth trying again.
