    Initially my hubby and I wanted to dine at Wakashachiya, but happened to see queue formed at Waraku Japanese casual dining restaurant, we decided to join in the queue.

    The servings for noodles and don(rice) come in 2 sizes - Medium and Regular. If you're a small eater, choose Medium, otherwise you can choose Regular for a big serving.

    We ordered Unatama Don (medium size - $10.80), Yasai Curry Udon (medium size - $8.80) and Crab Miso Nabe - $12.80. Their service is super fast. Within 10 minutes, 3 dishes were served. (I was amazed by their fast speed as the restaurant was super crowded & busy)

    I gave them 5 stars for their fast service, but the food did not meet my expectations. The unagi was too soft and the sweet sauce was very bland. The udon has a "Q" texture but curry tasted too sweet. Lastly, the crab nabe was super salty. The whole soup is dark brown colour. Fortunately we ordered the medium size.

    The prices are quite reasonable - for the fast service and nice ambiance. However, it is not a place for fussy eater, keke

      I had my first try on Azabu Sabo Hokkaido ice-cream at Takashimaya outlet last week. I had a double scoop ice-cream in a cone : Black Sesame and their new flavour - Tofu. The lady was super generous and gave me 2 big tall towers of ice-creams. The 2 flavours were simply delicious, not too sweet and texture was smooth. I can say it was a little expensive for $6.00 but really worth it!

      As I had a good experience, I bought another double scoop ice-cream in a cone at The Central outlet on 14 June 08. I chose black sesame (my favorite!) and pumpkin. The pumpkin has a mild sweet taste which I gave 2 thumbs up. My only disappointment was the lady was not skillful, so my 2 towers became "dwarf" towers, very short~

      Overall is a nice dessert. Should give it a try.
      Something to take note is: You must finish the ice-cream quickly, cos it starts to melt quite fast due to our hot & humid weather.

        I went in a group of 4 on 7 March 2008 for dinner. I'm abit disappointed that the restaurant no longer serves dinner steamboat.

        The decor of the restaurant did not change, it is the same as the previous Chinese restaurant they took over. However, the ambiance is good.

        We ordered 5 dishes:
        Braised Beancurd Skin with “Dang Gui” served in Casserole
        Braised spicy eggplant with fried man tou
        Cauliflower with Mushrooms & Capsicums
        Fried Rice with Diced Pineapple
        Braised Ee-fu Noodles

        Maybe I have high expectations, cos their previous steamboat buffet was really good. The 5 dishes did not really left us a "wow" impression. They just taste "so-so". The servings are very small. Each dish cost above $16 . The total cost for 5 dishes were $126.00 (including refillable tea). I will only recommend Braised spicy eggplant with fried man tou. It has salty and mild spicy taste and the gravy match well with the fried man tou.

        I think I won't go back to this restaurant again. I find the food are quite oily. I still find Roma's Vegetarian cafe at Ang Mo Kio served the best vegetarian food. (Very affordable too!)

        The ambiance of the restaurant is calm and relaxing. Quite a nice place for gathering and hang out with friends. For those who are not a pure vegetarian or like to eat sweet/salty food, you might not really enjoy the food there. The food is quite bland, but to me is nice cos the natural flavor is there. Try the curry and baked tofu. The curry gravy is thick and not too spicy. The baked tofu is served with peanut sauce, very unique. Besides these, the cafe also serve pastas and salads, do try them too. After a hearty dinner, you can enjoy gluten free cakes :) (But don't compare the taste with coffee beans or bakery shop)

        To some, the food is a little pricey, about $22 per person if you order a main course, a drink and a cake.

        The cafe is joint with a bookstore. There are quite a few merchandise on sale such as aroma therapy essence oils, soap bars, etc.

        Do visit this place if you have not been there!

        I went to this newly open vegetarian restaurant on 25 Nov 2007. As it is new, I suppose that's the reason why their menu does not hv any pictures. They offer quite alot of dishes in western, easten and japanese. I ordered their specialty - Ba Kut Teh which cook with many types of herbs, taste so-so. I've ordered monkey head mushroom, but they served me hot plate tofu instead. I was unhappy that the waiter didnt apologized and just asked me to take the hot plate tofu instead. Reluctantly I took the tofu thinking of not to waste food, but the chef still cooked the monkey head mushroom forgetting that I already took the tofu. I told the waiter I'm not taking the mushroom as I'm not going to pay extra for their mistakes. The Ee-fu mee was burnt. Total cost for 3 dishes are $26. I overheard my next table complaint the food was bland and tasteless. So overall dining experience was quite bad.

          That's a common problem with these places. When they cook the wrong dish they always ask you to take it. Just cannot take it. :)
