Unlike most dental clinics that have 1 or 2 dentists on duty. First Impression has different dentists on duty everyday. However if you personal preference you may request to see the dentist you prefer.
I actually made an appointment only on the previous day and I was allocated a slot. I was quite surprised as most other dental clinics require me to wait at least a week for the next available appointment.
I arrived slightly earlier before my time and was asked to wait. The nurses were friendly and polite, and they were also gowned and masked.
The clinic is quite impressive. There was a TV, water dispenser with both cold & hot water. Instant coffee, sugar, stirrer were also provided. The seats were 2 sofa and 2 red chairs that looked very trendy. Between the sofa was a glass coffee table with magazines. A few pots of plants adorned the clinic.
Despite the comfortable surrounding, the waiting time was terrible. I waited 1.5 hr for my turn. The dentist explained that it was be'cos of an urgent case and apologised to me. I only went for basic checkup and scaling, and the procedure went ok. Apart from the waiting time, other aspects of this clinic are fine.
I consult Dr Yang on most of my visits here. Some aspects that I thought could be improved is the lack of a wide range of medicine. What if a patient is allergic to some medicine and the clinic only stock the type he is sensitive to with no other alternative medicine for his condition?
Another thing is that the Dr ought to take patients complaint a little more seriously. I consulted him for acne problems, and he gave me a gel. Initially it was fine but after a month, rashes and eye irritation began to develop. We all thought it was be'cos of environmental irritation and I recovered. I went back to using the gel, but now when I use it my skin become red. I thought it was alright as some medication will cause temporary redness and the DR told me this gel will react with light to cause some sunburn. I actually returned to ask him about it but he ensured me it was nothing. I foolishly continued using it and my skin got worse. Finally I had to see another Dr.
Veeko often offers substantial discounts or bundling. The discounts could go up to 50-70%. The price range varies between about $60 for a top to over $100 for a dress or coat. Frankly I feel some of its clothes overpriced for a Hongkong brand, hence I prefer shopping here only during the sale period.
Some of its clothes could be gaudy while others are stylish. Fabrics are of average quality.
Service wise. The sales girls usually greet customers when they step into the shop, but I am of the impression that they are more fluent in Mandarin than English. This could be a problem for non-Mandarin speaking customers.
Another aspect that I think need improvement is that the fitting rooms do not have mirrors inside, to see yourself you have to walk out of the cubicle and use the mirrors on the outside of the fitting room doors. This lacks privacy as the fitting room area is not segregated from the shopping area.
I tried their home delivery service but I must say I was really disappointed. I waited close to 2 hours for my food to arrive. At first, I was told I had to wait longer about 1 hr & 20 min, but I waited till the appointed time and the food didn't arrive. I had to call them again to inquire, why didn't they tell me from the beginning that it could take up to 2 hrs? And why didn't they call to tell me it was going to be late?I ordered during lunch hour on a weekday.
Lesson? Don't order home delivery from lesser known food chains when you have an appointment to keep, as they can take longer than the estimated time because they do not have many outlets scattered across the island.
On a more positive note, the food that arrived was warm and tasted fine. Plastic cutlery were also included.
This is a fairly large outlet located favourably near the entrance of the MRT, just behind the bus stop.
However I usually do not like shopping at Cheers or 7-Eleven as the merchandise are almost invariably priced higher by $0.10- $0.20, and even sometimes a dollar, above those in NTUC or other supermarkets. There is also always a queue during peak hours, particularly after office hours when commuters stop by the store to pick up some essentials after work. Unfortunately there is only 1 counter.
Hence for the above reasons, I will not patron this store unless I really have to.
