Breadtalk has a chain of outlets throughout the island, and is probably the only bread & pastry store with such as a strong presence. It is a great rival of Crystal Jade Bread, as both sells almost sells the type of bread, pastry and cakes at competitive prices, from $1 onwards

Breadtalk unique aspect is its open- concept kitchen, and innovative names of items. My favorite is the red-bean bun, honey cakes, and sausages buns.

In the past, it has a coconut bun called White House but unfortunately it is discontinued.

For the selective consumers, the outlet at Paragon offers healthier, classy choices. Eg Green tea bun

This breadtalk shop really reminds me of the fusion cafe i had in malaysia. Not only can you shop for bread here, you can also drink a cup of coffee or tea, or even eat their laksa. Trust me, its really nice!

This shop has the ambience of class mixed with the old fashioned kopitiam you used to go in the early 90s. with all the good food you can get from here, i do not see why you should stop yourself from eating there. It beats the yakun kaya toast in taste and ambience, and the price too! why should you pay more for good food?

The thought of Toastbox sparks the craving for the uberlicious kaya toasts, eggs along with a cup of tea. Breadtalk, on the other hand, makes me want the chicken floss bread which has been a staple order for a few years now. Going back to Toastbox, it never fails to satiate my desire of a perfect breakfast or afternoon snack or merienda experience. I ate once at VivoCity , with a couple of good friends. The ambience was great and conducive for chitchats and more chitchats than ever. I like the smell, look and feel of the place. Well, for Breadtalk, maybe they can consider setting up their dine-in place, too.

Their peanut toast is nice. I somehow like the thick toast with the crunchy peanut butter slathered on top. Oooh.. so sinful.

They also have other kinds of toast like butter and kaya but i think the signature set is the peanut toast.

Food is ok but I think their service needs to improve. I actually witness a lady who stormed out of the outlet after waiting for her toast for 20 mins and after 2 times asking the waitress when her toast will be sent to her. She cooked up a big fuss, scolded the waitress for making her wait for it. She left in a huff without consuming it.

Angry lady: I dont want it anymore!"
Waitress: Sorry ma'am. This is for you. We will also throw it if you dont want.
ANgry lady: Then, by all means, give it to the dog!

A bit too much I felt but still customer is king, they say.

I've been to the Toastbox at Vivocity once, and it also happens to be the first time i actually tried the food.

My friend dragged me here, and she ordered the 'mee siam', claiming that it was one-of-a-kind and its their specialty.

I however, ordered one of the bread with a set (coffee or tea, with 2 half boiled eggs).

We got the drinks first, while the rest of the food came a few minutes after.

The mee-siam was really good (though i eat mee-siam only once every year or so, not a big fan), and i would definitely not mind eating it again.

Strangely enough (or maybe not), my eggs came first and i'm disappointed to say that they were kind of cold. That put quite a damper on things as i thought this was the simplest thing to do. Ah well.

The bread came next. Basically its a really thick toast sliced into 9 pieces, with generous servings of (insert ingredient chosen here). From peanut better to otah, there are a total of 4-5 flavours for you to choose.

The bread was crispy, and the peanut butter was just nice. Be careful not to order too much though, bread is pretty filling stuff.

The drinks were normal enough so there's nothing much to comment, same with the service.

Nice place to eat if you're in the mood for bread or mee siam~ And i believe the prices are cheaper than Ya Kun, so its all worth it~

BreadTalk & Toast Box (VivoCity) - Food and Beverages

have anyone ever tried buying pastry from bread talk (just beside toast box) at roughly 8:30am in the morning? you'll be surprised at how grouchy the cashier is, even though it might be different cashiers every day. as i worked mostly morning shift, i would go to bread talk to buy their raisin braid whenever on my way to work. first time, i tried a simple greeting of good morning and some P's and Q's, but all i got is this very sad, grouchy expression, like as if the cashiers wished they were still in bed, not working. despite being a regular morning customer at bread talk for quite a couple of months, i still get the sad, grouchy treatment. at least the good part is that there are always almost no queue in the morning, so i can't complained much either...

U mean the staff at vivovity or breaktalk in general? I bought bread from them (vivocity) early in the morning before. Seems ok for me. Hmm....
