This was a choice for a family dinner for a celebratory occasion. Picked the Vivo outlet as this has a nice waterside vibe to it and not so crowded too.

A queue had already formed before 5pm on a working Friday evening, probably because of the happy hour prices which makes their beer a rather good deal. Got an alfresco table for our group of 8pax but that turned out to be a miscalculation as the warm weather can make the alfresco sitting a tad uncomfortable.

Hefe Weissbier ($12.50 for 0.5litres) - their lightest beer brewed freshly. Super drinkable and good for ladies!

Onion Soup ($9.50) - Very good, with onion strips in it. Not too watery either.

Garden Salad ($9.50 for S) - Surprisingly fresh and crispy greens, carrots etc with a tangy dressing on the side.

Sausage platter ($32.50) - For 8 sausages, this comes across as a tad pricey for me even though I know they are more pricey then normal sausages. Nice sauerkraut and potato salad though, especially the onion strips on top of it.

Bacon Pizza ($16.50) - Rather big sized but crust was way too hard for me, almost biscuit-like.

Pork knuckle ($36) - Good! I reluctantly took a bite and realized why people have been saying it's nice. Perfectly roasted crunchy skin with the meat not having that sometimes overpowering pork smell. A bit dry though as no sauce is served with it.

Typical Bavarian pretzel ($3.50) - My personal favorite especially when its served warm.

Basket of selected German bread ($5.80) - Ordered a second basket as the bread was so good, even when cold.

Service was nothing to complain about. Have less pics this time as was busy chatting haha~

An Outing with the GAGA Girls and their Lovable male Pals last nite.... In order to continue the SAGA of the GAGA Girl's Famous "Ha Ha Ha n Hee Hee Hee" we have decided to choose a place less prone to be starred at when we share our nonsensical thoughts louder then usual.

Brotzeit seemed like just the place. First the environment is NICE AND FRIENDLY... You can chill out or party there... makes no difference... The ambience is just so amiable With the beautiful long stretch of high bar side seats to the log like tables and the out door high bar tables to suit every needs.

Just what needs are we talking about? There had been a theory going around:

BAR SIDE SEATS = Available and Looking

LOG TABLE SEATS = Available but I'm With Friends.. So not free.

OUTDOOR HIGH BAR TABLEs = Not Available and We want some personal time.

So next time choose your seats carefully.

Now to the Food and Beer......

The GAGA Girls Loved White Wine which I have to say i'm not such a big fan of it.... But they love the Sauvignon Blanc the best and I believed if you look close enough in the bottle, you might find a baby fish swimming in it... Perhaps thats why I always felt it was fishy to taste... BTW the GAGA Girls are CRAZY DRINKERS.... They way they drink.. I'm sure I can be a fish monger soon. The other drink we tried was the mango beer.. It was a hue darker with a nice mango aroma not to mention a sparkle of zesty note to the taste.

We also tried dessert and the chocolate creme is the best. Its actually creme, coated with dark chocolate and has cherries inside. Its creamy and smooth texture makes the extra calories so worth it. The chocolate was of just the right sweetness and it simply melts in your mouth. As you dig deeper, you will find layers of soaked cherries which is rather delightful.

I must mention about the service. The waiters are so helpful, and not to mention Sooo Cute Looking.... Quite an eyeful i must say... They are prompt, friendly and sure knows what their specialities are. I can't help but feel so AT HOME in this restaurant.. Perhaps bring some cute waiters Home.... Oooppss.......

A must go.. especially single and available girls who enjoy good food, good drink and a good eyeful of cute waiters.....

      GIRLS RULEZ!!!!!!

Last evening I went over to the restaurant with my colleague & German boss. The place is nicely done & we took an outdoor seat which was great! It gives you a nice view of the sea and part of Sentosa. Heez...

Ok, coming back to the food, I have ordered the butter Dory fillet with mushroom, and the other 2 main dishes ordered by my colleagues were the braised veal and smoked pork loin. I quite like the main course which I've ordered, nice & thick cut of dory fillet, except that the mushroom sauce was abit too salty. As for the braised veal, it tasted not-too-bad to my German boss. The smoked pork loin was more of a disappointment to my colleague as it turned out to be 4 slices of ham on top of a heap of mashed potato.

However, I think their German beers had compensated for the disappointment in the food for the night. I had both the Paulaner Weissbier & Paulaner Weissbier Dunkel, served chilled in tall, elegant glasses. Personally, I have preference for Paulaner Weissbier as it tastes lighter and less bitter.

On the overall, it's a nice place to have a couple of drinks with your friends!

Having read something somewhere that the german sausage platter for 2 was good, i spent my 2nd anniversary at Brotzeit.

The menu was slightly confusing to me, since most the words are in german, with only a line of english. Have to read for quite sometime before you understand what they are offering.

Ordered a beer well, i forgot what beer, but it is on their first page of the menu. Plain beer? Ummm... I am not a beer person, but I LIKE THEIR BEER! It tasted so nice, that i could not stop drinking and i swear i will be back for the beer!

Ordered the Sausage platter for 2, and there is like 5 different kinds of sausage on the platter. I think we had chicken, lamb, ermm.. and i couldn't remember what other kinds of meat. They tasted kinda oily to my liking, but i love the mustards! They have 3 different kinds of mustard, and they all tasted very mild and pleasant to the tongue!

According to the menu and the table beside us, they have quite alot of german sausages on their menu, they even have goose liver sausage! But we didn't get to try it. But the normal sausage main portion was kinda small for the price. Just a miserable 2 or maybe 3 small sausages on your plate! I think the platters for 2 are much more worth the money!

After our hearty meal of sausages, i felt abit sick of sausages, and my partner complained that although the meal was filling, but eating sausages only doesn't equate to a MEAL in his dictionary. My man needed some MEAT, real meat i guess.
And off we go for our 2nd round of dinner!

Service is good, the menu was sent promptly to us, and the server introduced our sausages to us. But the cooking time was abit too long for sausages.

I would recommmend this restaurant for their beers only! Beer is good! 3 stars for just the beer! The sausages was soso, the other items on the menu i haven't go the chance to try, hope that more reviews will come!

Look each other in the eye when you toast, or experience 7 years of bad ***!

I was quite pleased with the beer mixes and drafts respectively. The girlfriend had the former, which was their fizzy draft beer with banana. It had a refreshing taste with a hint of the fruit which did not over power the beer. The dark, chestnut coloured draft I ordered (which was the last item on the draft beer page) had a strong nutty and malty flavour which was, well, very yummy. There was no hiding of the ingredients and processing that went into the brew, which is good, because you will know that you pay for quality.

The Finger food was good, but only if there's beer. I say this because the finger food on its own tasted bland. But my guess is that the restaurant wanted the food and drinks to compliment each other and to bring out the taste of each other. Though I wished it was in bigger portion. I thought it was exceptionally odd since they would serve beers by the litre but half their portions of finger food.

As for service, I thought the waitress who attended to my table was pretty professional. I had asked about the difference in their drafts was provided with concise descriptions on taste for each of them. I was able to decide quickly from her comments and as fore-mentioned, was satisfied with my orders.

According to the girlfriend, the ambience was quite similar to those in Germany. But the music did seem un-German.

As for the title, the superstition about toasting with German beers is that you got to look into the eyes of each other and say the German version of "Yam Seng" or "Cheers". Failing which, 7 years of bod ***. So toast with a single-minded conviction here!

Admittedly, I gave Brotzeit a high rating because I was pretty disappointed with Café Del Mar's service just before coming here. The girlfriend and I were there for an hour and a half but was unable to find drinks. More details about the atrocious service on their opening day later.
