When I first saw it, I thought it was just cream puff with various toppings, just like the many donuts shops outside.
But when I bite it, it is really really chewy. And yet, because it has the cream puff alike outer layer, it wouldn't be as sickening even if you take a few more, as compared to donuts. [ The chewy layer is a thin layer in between the cream puff alike outer layer and the cream inside. I wonder what that is made of.
We had the ones from the Sweet Menu, where its those traditional cream puff (with the outer layer being chewy) with cream inside and additional flavourings on top. Its a just-nice combination where the cream would be neutralised by the sweet toppings (or the other way round). So, you get a just-right tea-time pastry.

I love love love the puffs here. Theyre chewy and yet so light and filled with delicious chocolate cream/ peanut butter cream or any other cream with the nice toppings.
my favourite here would have to the the peanut butter, the almond sweetheart(cos its filled with vanilla cream), the kaya, and oreo. boyfriend loves the cheese one but i find it a bit too thick and jerlak.
they also have just introduced the chewy juniors which is about 10-15 small little chewy jrs with either vanilla filling and topped with those sugar crystals or choco filling topped with choc. i like the vanilla jr cos sumhow i prefer the vanilla ones. used to be just $3 for one but now its $3.50 but u can get 2 at $6 so i usually would get 2 sinful sets of vanilla jrs...so sedap...esp love it when the cream oozes out..yum..

Chewy junior. Reallyy chewy!
I love the texture and the feel of it.
They also have many different flavours for you to choose from, for example, strawberry, blueberry, oreo etc.
I tired the oreo one and it was fine, but one thing about it is that the taste gets a little overpowering after eating 3 quarter of it.
Another big down point about chewy junior is that it is very messy to eat. I suppose because they want it to looks nice, so the flavouring is put on the top of the dough(or whatervy you call the bun) and when you bite, the cream or topping will be all over you lips and mouth, thus, it's not something that i'd advise you to eat outside. Maybe if you biuy it home, it'll be better.

TOday went to bugis and try the chewy junior !!!
the first thought that came across my mine is chewy !
however, after a few taste . i regretted !
I felt that it is like you left a cone outside for few hours and it became soft ...and "chewy"
Perhaps the flavour i tried is not that appetising maybe i should try next flavour , the other time !
Even though, the chewy puff is not what i expected but their service is good !
I think it credited to the staffs' hardwork , you can see that they are standing outside the shop trying to let passers-by try the sample .'Thumb up '

i tried this when the kiosk was about to close (no queue!), but i wouldnt reccomend this.
it was obvious that the chewy juniors had been left there for long, cos it didnt taste fresh by the time i brought it home.
i tried the oreo one, i have to say its overkill. fried dough cream chocolate topping oreo. i could really feel the calories going down my throat, and not in a good way.
maybe next time i'll get a flavor with minimal topping.

Hmm something different from donut. It is rather hard on the outer dough and chewy inside. Taste so so.
I also tried the soft bun at Dough Culture, a few kiosks away from Chewy Junior. it is soft but not very soft and I like the custard inside with the oreo topping. Is good.

Had passed by Chewy Juniors couple of time when I was at Bugis Junction, but the queue was long most of the time. When I saw that there wasn't any queue one day, I bought a box of 6 to try. There were quite a number of choices and I settled with the more common ones. Couple of toppings worth mentioning is the Strawberry Cheesecake and Blueberry Cheesecake. I like the blend of sweetness and sourness from the cheese.
Chewy Juniors is almost like a combination of donuts and cream puff. With an almost crispy outside and soft chewy inside. Toppings just gave the puff more texture and taste. Can give it a try if you're craving for something sweet.
